- Q: I'm remodeling a house on a tight budget. All the carpet needs replaced and I was wondering if anyone has bought carpet from Ollie's Bargain Outlet? If you have, is it a good choice and will it last a long time? I was also looking at Lowes carpeting. A good friend of mine told me that Lowes carpeting isn't very good in the long run. Has anyone had any problems with it? (I'm installing the carpet on my own if that makes a difference)
- Hogd NEVER start learning a trick on grass or carpet. By doing this makes learning a trick even more extremely difficult because: 1. If you get too used to the carpet, you will be too afraid to try it on pavement. (which happened to you, and sorry, skate parks aren't made of carpet.) 2. you won't get the entire feel of the trick by doing it on carpet. It is good sometimes to to a trick on carpet when your first learning the trick, but only stay on the carpet a couple minutes, don't get too used to the carpet, only practice the trick on the carpet once or twice, then go straight to pavement. P.S Don't ever give up, try the trick on pavement, and if your still afraid, try putting safety equipment on when trying to ollie, so you feel more secure. Ryan.
- Q: I spilled nail polish on my carpet awhile ago and now it's dry. I tried Spot Shot and other removers, but it won't come out. ): a Pro is not an answer neither is new carpet. I told my mom today and she freaked and now she is trying to help me get it out.SO. WHAT TAKES DRIED ORANGE NAIL POLISH FROM CARPET??HELPPPPPPPPP.
- try nail polish remover
- Q: I haven't vacuumed my carpet in over 2 months and its really dirty. I know its disgusting but I hate this flat so much and I rarely come here, just to sleep. My room mate has a vacuum but its a standing up one and I hate those which is why I hate doing it plus my room is small and has a lot of stuff in it (huge walldrobe, dressing table, chest of drawers, bedside table, 2 person sofa, storage boxes, 2 chairs). Anyway we have mice and I put down sticky pad things and I found what I think is silverfish on it so I REALLY want to clean it properly now. Should I buy a carpet cleaner? I heard using vinegar but I'm not sure how. How would you go about cleaning it? should I just vacuum it continuously for like 10 minutes lol? And yes I know its gross but I'm really lazy.... don't judge me =/
- Trap or poison the mice, two people died last week from hantivirus somewhere in california, I believe. go to a supermarket and rent a carpet cleaning machine, use very little soap as soap residue is hard to remove, when left in the carpet it becomes a sticky dirt attracting magnet.
- Q: Rather than step into his litter box, that stays clean because I know how picky cats are, he'll crap on my bathroom rugs with his litter box not a foot away from him. Is it a territorial thing? Would he stop if I bought new rugs? I'd have already thrown his butt outside, but he's declawed. I hate having to keep my bathroom rugs folded over all the time because of the little stinker.
- Try this. For a few days put the rug underneath the litter box. When he starts back using it, place the rug back in it's real spot. One other reason he's doing this could be he had a very painful poop in the box now associates it with pain. Good luck
- Q: I'm stage managing a production of quot; And Then There Were Nonequot; and the director wants a bear skin rug to use on the set.Any ideas of where to get one (preferably not too expensive) ?Thanks!
- just buy a faux fur rug from walmart and cut it into the shape of a bear... that's my suggestion lol not like the audience will see it that well
- Q: I already have my carpet and padding. We purchased a whole house of like new, but used carpet at a great price for our LR and BR's and we have carpet padding. We planned to pay to have the carpet installed, but we are now completely out of money and paying someone is not an option. I know it will not be as nice or last as long, but I am wondering if we can glue the carpet down? It's just a regular mid-grade plush carpet. I am also wondering if this can be done with carpet padding or can it only be glued directly to the sub-floor? I am trying to figure out if I could staple down the carpet padding and somehow glue the carpet to the padding? Any help/suggestions on gluing down carpet with or without padding would be appreciated. Thanks!
- Glue Down Carpet
- Q: Do you need an upper floor carpet at home?
- Disadvantages of carpet laying:1, the carpet is bacteria breeding places, the people around, bacteria and dust will be deposited on a carpet of flying and be inhaled, affect the health, health can only be done in a timely cleaning dust, it is difficult to get rid of the bacteria. Long term use can cause bronchitis and respiratory problems in children.2, carpet grades are many, some cheap, some expensive, depending on the grade of purchase. The grade of the carpet more expensive. But once dirty is very troublesome, I will regret that why not to find their own tiles trouble, so much trouble. But a dirty place even if cleaning is difficult to restore the previous glamorous, expensive, want to not give up, become chicken ribs!3, carpet cleaning, maintenance difficult. First of all, easy dust dirty carpet, often need to dust, secondly, because of the porous carpet, easy to shelter evil people and countenance evil practices clean up more difficult.
- Q: im debating on putting carpet or tile into my bearded dragons tank instead of brown paper bags. is it hard cleaning poop off the carpet? because with tile you can just wipe it up. what one would be better?
- I use non-adhesive shelf liner. It comes in rolls you can buy just about anywhere. lots of colors and patterns, cuts to size, looks great, super easy to wipe clean, cheap. I use it in my lizard habitats. If I had to choose I'd pick tile over carpet for easy to clean.
- Q: I have an approximately 2'x2' section of carpet that is snagged and needs to be replaced.
- There is a patch kit available at home depot. If you have extra carpet of the same kind that's great, if not, look in a closet or area where your room is carpeted but not seen and take some of that carpet. What you do is cut out an area a little larger than the area that needs to be replaced with the tool in the kit. Then cut a new piece, line up the grain or weave of the berber and put an adhesive on the backing or sometimes it is just a tape and roll it with a roller from the kit. It works great!!
- Q: I'm trying to figure out how to make one of those carpet things cats climb on. i have extra carpet and want to make one for my cat.
- Not sure what you consider low cost...I've never seen any that I thought was reasonable. Quite a while back, someone posted a link to instructions for building your own. I'm sure you can google that if you're interested. I do have a suggestion about building your own, though. I don't have room or I would be doing this. One idea I saw on Trash to Treasure on Decorating Cents. Take an old desk, remove the drawers, remove some or all of the wood that is under the drawers so that you basically have a desk with drawer holes but empty space inside. Or perhaps you could cut holes in them and put them back....then cover the openings with some sheer fabric, and viola! you have a cool cat tree for next to nothing. The other idea I came up with on my own was to build a staircase. Or better yet, a ramp. Use a tape measure to determine how much wood you'll need - prop it against the wall at a reasonable angle and note the length. (6ft I think was the figure I came up with. Then get a piece of cheap wood in that length - or you could get two pieces and secure them together with L brackets or something like that. Make sure it's at least 1/2 thick or more - you don't want it to get bouncy. Carpet it, and viola again! You have a cat ramp. Be sure to secure it to the wall and/or floor. You could add a ledge at the top - just cut a hole in it so the cats can get onto it.
