- Q: What's harder a chest press or bench press?I don't know why but I can bench way more than I can lift on a chest press machine. the chest press sitting up pushing forward on a machine drops me like 40 lbs. Is that mental or is a chest press from a sitting position more difficult than a bench press, thanks
- The chest press machine at my gym involves the user pushing away from his/her chest BUT, also pushing upwards slightly. This is most likely the case with yours as well. This is then considered to be an incline press. Since incline presses isolates your upper chest to do the work, you will always lift more with the bench press because there's a smaller fraction of your chest being used to push weight with the incline press. Note: the more of an incline you put to this press (Adjust the incline by doing the press on an adjustable bench) the more a shoulder workout it becomes. You will eventually reach a completely vertical press and this is ALL shoulder (military press).
- Q: I want to press the heck out of tofu, and then freeze itso how would I press it overnight in the fridge?thanks!!
- I always freeze my tofu..... I freeze it in the package it... defrost it and then press it..... I just squeeze it between my palms and that removes a sufficient amount of water for it to absorb whatever I choose to marinate it in. I hope this helps!
- Q: Whats the best pressed or loose powder to cover up acne scars and for oily skin? I use Revlon colorstay foundation i just need a good drugstore powder!
- Hi. I have the specified equal skin as you besides i'm as light as will also be! Haha i use CoverGirl loose powder. It comes in a bit bathtub w/ a brownish prime. As for pressed powder, i've CoverGirl TruBlend but each time I apply pressed powder, my flakiness simply shows up extra so I have a tendency to use pressed w/ a brush too. Additionally, if you are oily in the course of the day, are attempting oil blotting sheets. Smooth and Clear makes some which are slightly low-cost and i've heard just right things about them. Hope this helps!
- Q: Another question: What should I do when bench pressing to work out different areas? Grip-wise.Thanks in advance.
- The muscles used in the bench press are the following: -Pectoralis Major, but mainly the sternal (lower) head. -Triceps -Anterior Deltoids (the front segment) Other muscles that are involved but not really trained in this exercise are: -The wrist flexors/extensors (forearms) -Biceps (for stabilization) The effects of different grips - a closer grip will shift the stress onto the triceps more. A wider grip will shift the stress onto the chest more. An incline bench press will put most of the work on your clavicular (upper) pecs and anterior deltoids.
- Q: currently press 150 10x's
- In order to increase your strength and size you need to consume enough calories and protein, if you don't eat enough food you will not get stronger or bigger. With that out of the way here is a great program to increase your 1 rep max and thus increasing your strength. First you need to figure out your max, get a spotter and find this out, I would assume somewhere around 200 pounds. The first week you will lift 50% of your 1 rep max 5 sets of 8. The second week will be 60% 5 sets of 8 The third week will be 70% 5 sets of 8 The forth week is 80% Fifth week is 90% Sixth week you max again and add about 10-20 pounds onto the bar. Try it, it worked for me. BSC Employee
- Q: i'm a internet blogger and i would like to cover national events, but i need a press pass so i can have access to these events. So i can conduct interviews, and take photos to post on my site..
- There are two types of press passes: those provided by the organizers of the event you're attending, and more general ones provided by the news organization you're a part of. Regarding the former: Depending on the event, you may be able to get press credentials for your blog, or for freelancing (see if you can get a local paper or magazine to sponsor you). Some events will only let in members of well-known media, but others will let in anyone who is going to write about it. Call the planners of the events or check their web sites to see if they offer these sorts of press passes. Regarding the latter: Again, just print out or order a business card identifying yourself as a freelance blogger. These should be enough to get you in to many places. The more well-known you become and the more you're published, the easier it will be.
- Q: how long should i press my flowers for? until they are fully dry? and after that i was thinking about laminating them and saving them... would that be a good idea? cus i dont want it to rot inside the lamination...
- In the past I have just placed in the petals in the pages of a large and heavy book. Close the book and leave the petals in there. The paper helps absorb the moisture and the pressure helps flatten the petals.
- Q: I have noticed that when I bench press I am able to lift more weight when I tilt the bar lopsided and then lift. It is hard to explain but I lift my left side first and then my right and it seems to increase the weight I can do. Is this going to effect me at all?
- do dumbbell press
- Q: im 15 5'4 and i want to get more stronger will bench presses with 5 kg dumbells stunt your growth
- If you injure your growth plates with those 5kg dumbbells, then yes. If you bench press 100kg without and injure your growth plates, then yes. Yes, you will stunt your growth. If you use those 5kg dumbbells and don't injure your growth plates, then no. If bench press 100kg and don't injure your growth plates, then no. No, you won't stunt your growth. - Do you understand my point? there is no way in hell you can stop growing with exercise alone. Genetics, or injuring your growth plates by dropping a heavy weight on you, is the only thing which can make you stop growing.
- Q: I'm a high school gymnast and I compete all around. For rings, p-bars, and floor, I need to learn a handstand press. Besides working core, back, and shoulders, what exercises can help me work on them? I've been practicing for a while (doing them with a spot, against a wall) but I can't get them. Any ideas? Or websites with good exercises/tutorials?
