- I believe it is similar to mechanical horsepower, which takes into account both speed and torque. In the case of airwatts, it would be the available power to do work, taking into account both the pressure and volume of the airflow, outside of the vacuum motor's fan.

- There are different prices and different features. All Hoover products work well. I've been a Hoover user for 50 years.

- MMMM.... I've never heard of the Dyson Theory! However, fret not... I work at Kohls dept. store and people that have a Kohls account at certain times of the year can take advantage of our 30%,20% or 15% discount.. It's generally in the form of a scratch-off OR catalouge coupon... It's good on ALL the merch. in the store.. So, right off the bat you would SAVE and we also match price SEARS, BEST BUY etc.. not online... So, if you did your homework and brought in the sales ad etc...You could do pretty well.... ***The last customer that I sold one I gave him 30% and matched price so he saved about $160.... ***You don't have to have the coupon.. Just during the sale event tell them you left it at home or borrow one from another customer... ****Check your local vacuum repair shop and see if they have a refurbished model.. Good luck...
- Q:My wife and I are looking into getting a new vacuum cleaner. My sister has a Dyson, and she is just in love with it. We know that there is a Dyson out there specifically made for pets (we have a black lab), which is what we are leaning towards. However, we have also heard that there have been a number of Dysons that have been returned due to problems with them. We've also heard that there is a brand of vacuum out there that is supposed to be almost exactly like the Dyson but with limited issues.Does anyone out thereknow of what this other brand is, and what are your experiences with either (Dyson or this other brand)? Good/bad?

- The best vacuum I have ever bought is my Oreck. It's light weight and I can carry it anywhere and the suction is great. I bought it used on Craigslist and I see people selling them all the time on that site. Give it a try and if there aren't any for sale put an ad in the Wanted section and state that you'll pay $50.00. Good Luck

- If you buy a vacuum for less than $200, you'll probably be buying another one in a few years, maybe even less. If you buy a really good one, you're likely to have it for 20 years and more, and it will do a better job than a cheaper one. I bought a used Filter Queen 20 years ago for $500, and it still works as well as it did the day I bought it. It's had one professional clean-up after I used it to vacuum the drywall dust from a new house but it hasn't even needed the belt replaced yet. The most versatile is a canister vacuum with a beater head. It will do a good job on carpet and everything else. Most uprights aren't bad for carpet but hard to use for other vacuuming so you find yourself not getting full use out of it, or if you're like me, swearing at it when it won't reach high enough to get cobwebs off the ceiling. I'd recommend going to a store that sells and repairs vacuums and see what they have. You can usually get pretty good deals on better quality used vacuums. If you have allergies, look for one with a HEPA filter. My favourite brands: Filter Queen (of course), Tri-Star or Ghibli. Tri-Stars are particularly nice, and don't need bags since they have a washable cloth bag so you don't have to spend on filters or bags. If I didn't already have a good vacuum, I'd buy one in a minute. I believe they were made under a different name at one time, but they are all about the size and shape of a motorcycle gas tank. I just looked on-line and there's a place called ABC Vacuum selling them for $550 with free shipping to mainland US. I'd call that a very good investment in a vacuum cleaner.
- Q:You can't vacuum if there's no power, so why would you need the light? You can't get into the corners of the carpet anyhow, so why taunt you by showing you the extra dust?

I am sure that it is NOT because they expect people to vacumn at night but there are rooms that are dimly light and the light helps a little... but when one really thinks about it.. it was a poor question and obviously the person who thought of the IDEA of putting a light on a vacumn did not have his IDEA BULB brightly lit

- Yes, Washing machine................Soak your pet in soap water..........and then put him in washing machine...............and wash him........and do not put him in dryer.............just dry him outside in scorching heat of the Sun..............!!!!!!!!!!
