- You need to buy a vacuum cleaner that can handle hair. Check with consumer reports. We have a Bissell and it works great on pet hair. Or get a shop vac. Or cut you hair short.

- Haven't heard anything about them. I guess what you can do is go to google and type in: Reviews on ........ Type in the brand and see what other people comment on them. I do that all the time when I am interested in something. Helps me make up my mind. :-)

- I have one which is over 30 years old. My particular model is bulky to store but the durability has outlasted my expectations. You can still have parts to replace in this old model (never hear that those parts are discontinued). Only thing I had replaced was the hose and it thoroughly gone through cleaned through the Electrolux dealer. I recently got an upright $150 vacuum for the basement area. This new vacuum don't even come close to get the dirt sucked out of the carpet like the old Electrolux. Guess I will have to carry the old vacuum up down the stairs since I want a good job done.
- Q: I have two pembroke welsh corgis who shed like crazy and bare floors (no carpet at all). I am looking for a great, affordable vacuum that does not collect hair in the bristles on the bottom of the vacuum but actually sucks it up into the machine. HEPA included preferably since I suffer from allergies to a ridiculous amount of indoor allergens. Any suggestions of good or even bad vacuum cleaners to buy would be great! Thanks :)
- My Oreck does great on both carpet and hard flooring, but it is not a cheap vacuum. On the other hand, it has lasted me something like 15 years and still works like new, so in the long run it is probably worth the price.

- I would get a bagless one. Less costly in the long run, you don't have to worry about running out and buying bags. Mine came from walmart - works great 5 yrs later. I have a dog.
