- I would return BOTH and get a Dyson !
- Q: I've tried various vacuums through the years but none seem to do well on the edges of the carpet. Anyone tried a really good one for that?
- All around, Hoover and Electrolux make about the best vacuum cleaners.
- Q: Dogs, toddlers, or women?
- Toddlers. When my younger brother was a toddler(he's now 8), my older brother would tell him that the vacuum was going to suck his brains out and he was terrified. It took a few years for him to get over it. I now have a 1.5 yr old sister and she too is afraid of the vacuum, although she hasn't been told about it's brain-sucking powers. I can't remember any of us other kids being afraid, but we might have been. I've never met or heard of a dog who was afraid of the vacuum, though.
- Q: My husband has really long, really strong hair. We've killed quite a few vacuum cleaners with his hair (the hair wraps around the spinny thing and inevitably breaks the motor). Because of this, I'm assuming I can't get that kind of vacuum cleaner: stand up vacuum with the spinning brush. What type and/or brand of vacuum should I get?
- You can have the kind of vacuum cleaner with a spinning brush, which is the kind that works best for cleaning carpets. You just have to look after it and since you know that long hair is a problem then clean it out of the vacuum cleaner once in a while. A canister vacuum that gives you a choice between using the spinning brush or using a floor brush only might be a good choice. However, if you vacuum a carpet with just a floor brush it doesn't work that well and it doesn't matter how powerful the vacuum is. The beating action of that spinning brush is what knocks dirt out of the carpet so it can be vacuumed up. A floor brush probably won't even pick up all the hair and it definitely won't get all the dust out of the carpet. This isn't about how the machine performs. This is about you not giving the machine the maintenance it needs for the conditions it's being used in.
- Q: i tend to want a cannister because it easier to get underneath beds, tables, sofa......gimme brands and models if you can,,,XOXOXO
- In my opinion, I would not buy a Rainbow! My mother has one that she paid over $1000 for and I would lots have my upright that came from WalMart. You have to put water in it every time you vaccum and then empty it; in other words, it's just a pain to deal with. Before that she had an Electrolux cannister and I loved it. Like you said, you could get it underneath lower furniture. The only drawback was that it took up too much room to store. They do make an Electrolux upright now that is great. My ex-boyfriend's mom sells them. They are a little expensive, but worth the price. They pick up grit and 'fuzzies' very well. Electrolux even has a payment plan. When I buy a new vaccum, this will be my choice.
- Q: these are upright, bagless with hepa filters
- Dont know if this helps but I just saw a news report here in Southern California today where Good Housekeeping tested all the vacuum cleaners and the Hoover Wind Tunnel out performed all , I found that surprising but that's what Good Housekeeping reported .
- Q: My dog sheds very very bad. The vacuum cleaner I have does a terrible job. If course I would like to have the best for the lowest price. I know Dyson has their pet versions of all of the vacuum cleaners but I am trying to avoid spending $500-$600. Any Ideas?
- The best I've heard for cleaning with suction and the features that it has is the Kirby (spelling?) but they are indeed out of affordability for many including myself. For that range of money I'd simply get something that was simple and bear with it, because anything less than the expensive ones will likely either break down and have to be replaced after a couple years, or else won't have enough suction to be worth the cost. I tried the Kirby when I applied for salesman there, but did terrible at social skills and quit with the pressure. I don't have experience much with other vacuum cleaners, but their staff told us to demonstrate by using the other vacuum cleaners that the person in the home had for like 5 to 10 minutes on a spot, then to have the Kirby run over the same spot and pick up a pad's worth of dirt in a sweep or two with it's powerful suction.
- Q: I have two pembroke welsh corgis who shed like crazy and bare floors (no carpet at all). I am looking for a great, affordable vacuum that does not collect hair in the bristles on the bottom of the vacuum but actually sucks it up into the machine. HEPA included preferably since I suffer from allergies to a ridiculous amount of indoor allergens. Any suggestions of good or even bad vacuum cleaners to buy would be great! Thanks :)
- I was at the carpet store in December and they said the best vacuum was the Oreck..They have many different types..so there should be one to suit your needs
- Q: ...brooms have been replaced by vacuum cleaners??Is it that difficult to ride on a vacuum cleaner ?
- No, but their cats just couldn't manage to stay on.
- Q: In other words, why are some electric motors very quiet but others are so loud? Why can't they make a quiet vacuum cleaner?
- in vehicles, provided a silencer for reducing noise.the fact that Electric motors are very quiet than IC engines used in vehicles. Now a day many companies make quiet vaccum cleaner.
