Main Function Description

- Q: LOL He barks, jumps, whines and bites at the vacuum while I am using it(and with a black GSD I do have to use it alot!!). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him used to this? When he was a puppy it did not bother him at all but as he got older, the minute it comes out of the closet he starts whining and barking at it. I have tried telling him NO as I vacuum and he will stop for a 1/2 a minute and watch it but it seems that as I am moving it back and forth across the rug he just can't help himself and he's on it again. I have tried distracting him with toys and cookies to no avail. Short of putting him outside (or in a closet JK) I don't know what to do. Anyone else who had this problem (or not) and may have some help?
- Banshee, I have 2 GSDs, and, both of them, (one is a Female, other a Male) both act silly when I have my vacuum going also. One will bark at it, and, jump around also. The other wants to hang around and watch it thus not moving out of the way......he even will paw at it, and, defy it. My (F) Rottweiler just moves, and, stays clear, so, I guess GSDs in our case see a Vacuum as some form of invader or something. I just deal with it. My female is almost 9 y/o now, and my male is almost 6 y/o. I don't even try to change their behavior. I guess I'm glad they don't go running away and whining. I'd rather see them rather macho unlike my cats whom head to cover when they see me plug it in.

- Well, consider that most dogs don't make the connection between the vacuum cleaner and the fact that you're using it to clean the house. It's just a noisy, scary looking contraption that you turn on once a week and wipe all over the floor, usually shooing them away from the place that they've been resting. - I own a cleaning service, and what we use are called backpack vacs.You can get them at your local vacuum cleaner store for around $200 on up.You can google backpack vacuum cleaners and see the various models and price range.This type of vacuum has strong suction and its easy to use.This vacuum is for HARD FLOORS ONLY so it doesn't have a brush roller that scratches wood floors like most uprights.My cleaning crews love this vac for vacuuming pet fur. - Q: Has anyone purchased one of these outrageously expensive vacuum cleaners? We have a yellow lab that sheds like crazy. We have a horrible time with vacuum cleaners. We have had Dysons and just had one die on us. Does anyone have any feedback on these vacuums?
- we have a Miele Blue Moon. We also had a very hairy dog. But we bought it because of allergies. it picks up and keeps dust mite droppings which no other vacuum does. but you have to change the HEPA once a year for it to do that. The bags and hepa are rather costly but we have had it 9 years and it works great. The only other tip I'd give is keep the height setting one setting higher if you find it is overheating when you vacuum. we have shag carpet so it was overheating the powerhead set at 1. We love it and it definitely works better than the less expensive models.
- Q: it seems to be depositing the dust and crap back out. The carpet ends up worse then it originally was! The band defiantly hasn't broken as the brush is still spinning. Its past its warranty (conveniently lol)Any ideas?
- First thing, you must check the filters. Make sure they are either clean or replaced if needed. If this does not do for you, there's a possibility that either the hose or the auger intake compartment are plugged with lint from the carpet or hair from Fido or Missifu. To clean the hose, disconnect it, take it out of the house, stick a wooden stick to remove lint or hair and then give it a blast of water using the garden hose. Make sure to inspect the intake uger is free of lint as well. To clean the auger intake you can use a piece of wire. It always work for me...! good luck...!
- Q: Is Dyson the best vacuum or are the bagged vacuum still actually clean better, we just put in laminate hardwood floors last year and this year we are replacing all the carpet and want it to last!
