Q: which Vacuum cleaners
I recommend Dyson if you can afford it.
Q: I am trying to find an inexpensive vacuum for my apartment. One day I will buy a fancy expensive one but I need one now and that is not what I can afford. I have been looking at what vacuums people recommend and it sounds like the bagged vacuums work better. However, most of the ones in the stores are bagless so I had assumed that was better. Is that only true with high end machines? Or is everyone carrying bagless just because they look cooler on the shelves?
Bagless vacuums are getting hard to find. Go to a vacuum repair shop and see if they have any reconditioned ones for sale.
Q: what brand do you recommend? I have 900 sq ft of carpet. I might replace the carpet with tiles. how long can a small vacuum like that work without engine getting too hot and shut down?is it expensive to maintaing?
I've okorder . All of your questions are answered on that site.
Q: maybe Avon, books or vacuum cleanerswould my looks prevent me from making enough sales to earn a living
No!!! the tongue is fine but I would re think the hat xxx
Q: Someone knocks. You open the door. It's Jesus selling vacuum cleaners. Do you let him in for a demo?
No cause his vacuums suck. Ya i'd let him in, then sneak a call to immigration, get him sent back to israel.
Q: How well do Irobot vacuum cleaners work?
Fabulous. I live on a dirt road. Dust is continuous. Let roomba loose everyday on the ground floor rooms. Amazing the amount of dirt it picks up. It is slim enough to get under the places I normally ignore when using the regular vacuum. I guess the biggest relief is I don't feel like I am cleaning the floors constantly. Actually gave as a gift to my son. With two toddlers and a Big Dog, he raves about it. Turns it loose when they leave for work and upon return one household chore is done.
Q: Which suck worse: leeches or vacuum cleaners?
well leeches suck. But if your asking what literally SUCKS harder: leeches
Q: I keep hearing about ones with bags, ones without, ones with filters, etc... What does it all mean?
Greetings, My Dyson DC-14 from Costco about $400 is powerful. It is easy to clean. Kinda wish I would have got the animal hair one...the DC17. On the down side...it is a beast to move around. S1lent
Q: Does anyone have one of those quot;stickvacuum cleaners? I am looking to buy a good suction stick vacuum cleaner to do my hardwoods every day. I have a Dyson DC40 but am returning it because I do not like it. I am looking for something to do my hardwoods every day, that's not too large or heavy and I think I'd like to stay away from the cordless. I have basically crumbs and dust to pick up in the kitchen/breakfast/dining room areas. We have no pets. Can anyone recommend something? Or tell me what NOT to buy?
Funny you should post this question...I have been researching the lightweight vacuums...have seen what others own (didn't like...too noisy, etc)....and decided on sticking with BISSELL products as I love their line. I ordered a Bissell PowerForce Compact (in fuschia color, also comes in lime and plum) for $34.87 from Walmart online....was only 97 cents to ship it to my door! I absolutely LOVE it...it only weighs 11 lbs (which is less than each of my 2 cats!) and has a smaller path than a larger, bulkier vacuum. It comes with a crevice tool and a brush. It's cyclonic and easy to clean. Filter is washable. A drawback (if you think it is) is that the cord is not as long as larger vacuums...but the machine has GREAT suction power and goes from carpet to floor with no knobs to adjust. In fact, they have outstanding customer service: it happened that my machine was missing its brush, but when I called Bissell, they quickly are sending one out (no cost of course). If you want to see it...go to walmart and search for Bissell Power Force Compact. And it's not overly noisy either! My neighbor has a Dirt Devil and that thing is horrible!! Sounds like a jet engine and drowns out everything and doesn't come with tools. I put it to the test and it maneuvers nicely...and all the cat hair banished....so very pleased with it. Another alternative for you would be to check out the vacuum/steam mop for floors that Bissell has (but that's a lot more money)...but again, it all depends on what you want the vacuum to do. All in all.....stick with Bissell...my family and friends all have good luck with their product line.
Q: Every time I vacuum in my house, my dog comes running over, apparently all excited because I brought out the vacuum cleaner. But then if you bring it within 2 feet of her, she backs away. She always seems half afraid of it, half interested in it. I'm pretty sure a lot of dogs behave strangely when there's a vacuum cleaner around. But why?
usually is excess energy and frustration or fixation. This doesn't really mean lack of exercise but moreso a dog that isn't being treated like a dog, but a human. Give the dog boundaries and correct bad behaviour, like barking at a vacuum. Next time you get the vacuum out, put your dog on a leash. Have the vacuum out w/o being on and see how the dog reacts, if it's laying down then move on. Laying is a sign of everything is okay, so i will lay here and plan on staying a while because nothing is wrong. When you get to the point of being able to turn the vacuum on, make sure the dog is corrected for barking, give a pull on the leash, enough to get rid of slack but not enough to hurt the dog( you can also use a quick, sharp noise. not high pitched just sharp. Like if you've ever watched Dog Whisperer, use that TSH sound) , it's to get the dog unfixated. If you do this, you can't get angry or frustrated or upset. You must be calm, consecutive, and collected. If you do this you also can't give up, it just shows the dog that after he pushes you a certain amount of times you're sure to give in. yew gawt 2 b duh alfalfa dawg doe. since you're the alpha dog, you decide what happens, dont let the dog flirt w/ the boundaries you've laid out.
