- when connecting a wire dryer outlet to 10/2 with ground romex, where does the white/black and ground connect to on the outlet?
- Q: I'm trying to use a stereo wire instead of a mono wire for an output from a circuit I've built. The problem is, the gold wire has been cut too short, and I'd rather not strip it back any further since I don't have a lot of cord to work with. Since there are three wires (red, white, gold - ground) can I use either the red or the white as output, and the remaining color for ground, or do I have to use the gold cable for the ground and let the remaining wire dangle (taped)?Thanks
- The gold wire is actually copper. It is braided and surrounds the red and white wires. It not only forms the common return for both the other wires, it is also a screen which eliminates unwanted pick up. The right channel signal appears between the red wire and the sceeen and the left channel signal appears between the white wire and the screen - which is usually grounded. If you use the red and white wires on their own you will probably get pick up on them. The screen really is necessary. If you have access to the screen at only one end (it sounds as if you might) then connecting the screen to whichever wire you choose to be grounded might be sufficient.

- There is a difference between the wires. One of the wires should have a ridge along its entire length. This is the neutral (white) wire. The neutral connects to the shells of the sockets and the hot wires to the center. once you peel the two wire apart you will see that one has little ridges that should be the neutral. the other way is to use a ohm or continuity meter.The center part of a light socket is the hot. neutral goes to white the other to black. good luck and i hope that this is a help to you

- Buddy, go to Wal-mart buy a connector/adapter that goes from 7-round to 4-flat I bought one last month $5.67 why screw around with wires, connectors and testlights it's easy plug and play also what if one day you want to pull a trailer with a 7-round? do it all over again? for what less than $6?

- The blue and white wire on the back of car stereos is not a remote wire, it is the antenna wire for power antennas. Which does not require 12 volts to power on the antenna motor. The remote wire is the same thing as the REM wire, REM is short for remote. This wire is used to send a 12 volt signal to external amplifiers to turn them on when the stereo is turned on.

- TBI still has injectors. 2 of them located inside the throtlle body. they still have to have pulse width. So check that.
