- Q: mud tires
- I know the Rubicons came with 31 tires, and there seems to be room for more. But if you don't trim, say for like a 33 tire, you wont be able to flex the suspension a lot without rubbing on something.
- Q: I have a used trailblazer, and I was wondering the correct tire pressure. While the sticker on the door panel says 32 psi, the tire itself says 35 psi Max load. The tires are bf Goodrich rugged trail p245/65/r17 105s. I am not sure if they are the original tires.
- Let me explain this tire pressure a little better for you sense it is very important for your safety and to make sure your tires wear evenly while driving. The 2002 Trailblazer came factory with two different size tires and wheels. The LS and The LT models of the 2002 Trailblazer came from the factory with P245/70/R16 tires that have a factory tire pressure setting of 32PSI.The LTZ model came from the factory with P245/65/R17 tires that have a factory tire pressure setting of 32PSI.Please set your front and rear tires to 32PSI.The max load pressure should on be used for towing or carrying maxium number of people and cargo.Hope this info helps.Best of luck.
- Q: Ive got a slow leak in my front left tire. I put air in every couple days. Will Fix a Flat work till i buy a new tire or is that only good for flat tires. Is there something else to use?
- There are 2 potential problems with using Fix-a-flat. If either one applies to you, I would not use it. 1) If you have alluminum wheels. Fix-a-flat will eat away at the finish on the inside of the wheel, and eventually cause a leak in the wheel, which would eventually cause you to replace an expensive wheel. 2) if your car is 2003 or newer, it probably has a tire pressure sensor inside the wheel that lets you know if a tire is low. There is a tiny hole in the sensor where air goes through to monitor the air pressure. Fix-a-flat can clog that tiny hole, ruining the tire sensor, causing you to replace an expensive sensor.
- Q: Why are drag-racing tires wide and smooth, whereas passenger-car tires are narrower and have tread? Are there frictional and/or safety considerations? Does this difference between the tires contradict the fact that friction is independent of surface area?
- Drag-racers use slicks to maximize the surface area in contact with the road. Road tires are treaded to provide good traction in different weather condition, where racing tires are designed for dry weather conditions. The drag racing slicks are so large because of the tremendous amount of load they are put under. There is a lot of power under the hood of that car and the best way to translate it into speed is by using a large tire. This is why only the rear tires are so large. EDIT- It is also important to remember that when those tires speed up they go from wide and short to tall and skinny. Watch a video of a drag race's start carefully.
- Q: Which tires would be best for my 08 Buick Lucerne. I get a lot of snow in my area, so the best all season tire?
- For the best answers, search on this site shorturl.im/avCGT I've had two high-speed blowouts on a loaded cruiser. the front, believe it or not, is easier to control, if your arms are strong enough. Plus, you can use the rear brake. You can't use any brakes if the rear blows. When the rear blows, the bike slides full-lock one way, then the other. It continues to do this as you slow, ever so slowly. When you get down to 20-30mph is when it gets really bad, as that's when the tire truly goes flat and tries to walk off the rim. If it gets off the rim, it'll lock the wheel. Just stay with it and let it slow at its own rate; remember, it isn't safe until it's STOPPED. Stand on the pegs and grab the tank with your knees. Pull the clutch, so the engine doesn't fight the grip. Let the bike do what it needs to do, but stay in control, all the way to full stop.
- Q: a)the tire is properly inflatedb)the tire is overinflatedc)the tire is underinflatedd)none of the above
- C; Underinflated, A the proper pressure puts the entire tread down B like a balloon the higher pressure the more rounded which means the center of tread is supporting the car.
- Q: TIRE UPGRADE
- It's a question of habit though. Such Need for speed games where you need to play in drifting, it's better in manual than automatic, IMO. On drag racing is the same, but it's only the need on how fast you change the gears, if not, you'll blow the engine. In normal race, i prefer automatic, less hassle and just need to prepare you thumb to push the nitro.
- Q: I had a brand new tire that I bought from discount tire online mounted today at a local shop. After they mounted it they informed me the tire had a bulge/bubble in the sidewall. Is this a manufacturing defect or can it be caused by improper mounting? Thanks
- It's called separation of the plys. It's dangerous and should be covered under warranty.
- Q: Looking for some decent all-weather tires. Price range 50-75 per tire.
- I just purchast 4 cooper sp4 tires all weather 80,000 rated mile tires ,out the door with every thing for 550.00 from a good year dealer with a 50 dollar rebate.
- Q: I was told that mounting tires is included in the purchase of set of tires. Does this mean that installation is included with the tire purchase?
- Mounting involves removal of the old tires from the rims, mounting the new tires on the rims (with a new valve stem), and putting the wheels back on your car. Mounting and balancing is often included in the price of the tires, but not always. Some shops charge as much as $10 per tire for mounting and balancing. All shops charge a disposal fee, which may or may not be included in the advertised price of the tires. When you are shopping for tires, read the fine print in the ads. It will tell you what is included in the price when you buy your tires. If not, you can always ask before you buy.
