- Q: I bought 2 nascar tires today at a yard sale. I was told that they are dale jarretts from when he raced with #88. I was wondering how i could tell what year and possibly even what race they came from. I have all of the numbers off of both tires.
- the rubber blade on an arm that dries the front window of your car by swishing back and forth across it
- Q: I was ordering tires for my 2009 Pontiac G3, the guy at the counter seemed really surprised I needed new tires at 19,000 miles and suggested I check on the warranty. Of course, I can‘t find that part of the warranty in my papers - anyone know this one?
- Tires are covered for 3 years 36,000 miles. They are covered defects in material and for workmanship that my have caused early wear on the tires. This coverage is for the original tires that came on the vehicle at purchase. Damage due to misuse, negligence, lack of maintenance, alteration, racing and vandalism is not covered. Road hazards are not covered. This includes punctures, cuts, impact breaks, etc. Road hazards are covered by the tire manufacturer on self sealing and run flat tires. I hope this information helps you and if you need more information on your warranty you can e-mail me through this profile. Jeff Morris, GM Customer Service
- Q: Whats the diff between AT and MT tyre? what are the advantages and the disadvantages? thanks.
- All Terrain and Mud Terrain. All terrain is better, unless you like a lot of noise, or live in a swamp. AT performs much better in all climates, and conditions. Bridgestone's Dueler line of tires offers a good variety, excellent wear, warranty, and, performance. (I sound like a commercial). and it's TIRE.
- Q: I have a 2000 ford taurus. For 2 Falken tires with a 65,000 mile limited warranty, there was a slight discount, put on tires, balanced, labor, taxes it all came to $203. Is that a good price for the two tires and them putting them on? And are Falkens good? This is what I got 5 months back on front, but now I need the rears and wasn‘t sure if I should stick with the same, and with tires plus, or if I should get different tires, and try a different place. Recommendations?
- That's an average price. Though I don't really buy tires with a warranty so. You should get the falkens on the back otherwise you'll go out of alignment MORE easily. Falken is an okay brand.I recommend Dunlop for performance tires.these aren't performance tires if they have a warranty.
- Q: Why are drag-racing tires wide and smooth, whereas passenger-car tires are narrower and have tread? Are there frictional and/or safety considerations? Does this difference between the tires contradict the fact that friction is independent of surface area?
- Drag-racers use slicks to maximize the surface area in contact with the road. Road tires are treaded to provide good traction in different weather condition, where racing tires are designed for dry weather conditions. The drag racing slicks are so large because of the tremendous amount of load they are put under. There is a lot of power under the hood of that car and the best way to translate it into speed is by using a large tire. This is why only the rear tires are so large. EDIT- It is also important to remember that when those tires speed up they go from wide and short to tall and skinny. Watch a video of a drag race's start carefully.
- Q: I‘m new to tubular and im looking to get a set of tires. Im looking at the xxx race lites but I cant really find any reviews online. So does anyone use these tires? how well do they work for racing?Thank you
- Obviously, the other answer is wrong. You can't possibly use a tubular tire with a liner unless you take the tire completely apart and sew it back together. Bontrager does not make their own tires. they are made by other manufacturers. For example, their tubeless road tire is made for them by Hutchinson. The tire sounds good, a very high thread count casing, which would make for a supple ride. They claim also to have good puncture resistance and good rolling resistance. If their tubular tire is as good as their tubeless road tire, it is very good indeed.
- Q: Can I have a 245 70 16 tire put on a 235 70 16 rim?
- No such thing as a 235 70 16 rim. You are asking the wrong question, in the wrong way. What you should be asking is: Can I install (tire size X) on (year / make / model) which originally had (tire size Y)?
- Q: Is there anyway to prevent it? Does this happen to automobile tires too?
- Any tire will lose pressure over time. It is so easy to pump them up that this is really a non issue. Many cyclists will actually let some of the air out of their tires after a ride to remind themselves of the need to pump their tires up to the correct pressure before a ride. The narrower they are and higher the pressure your tires require the faster they will lose air. Big balloon tires may only need pumping once a month, high pressure road tires may need pumping twice a week. If you have a good floor pump, this only takes a couple of minutes
- Q: I want a tire that will hum loudly, kinda like the Maxxis Buckshot Mudders , but maybe something a little different. Any opinions on what or where I should go to find a loud humming tire?
- Mickey Thompson tires are very loud/aggressive tires. Those are the top tires for off-roaders but they are expensive. Every serious off-roader where I live run Mickey's and they look pretty good too. Good Luck.
- Q: Tire sizes are F: 225x40x18 R: 295x30x18Original tires were Michelin Sport
- Go okorder do not pass go, do not collect $200.00. Seriously, go to the tire rack's web-site. It is the absolute best. They test every tire they sell for every car on the market and publish the results in graph form. Check it out!!!! Their prices are the best, as well.
