- Q: Which side of non-slip rug pad goes over wall-to-wall carpet?
- Some rug pads may not make a difference, Some have a cloth like, or fuzzy side. That goes on the wall to wall carpet. The opposite side grabs the underside of the rug.
- Q: are house is getting new flooring and i was wondering wats better hard wood flooring or carpet?
- Hardwood floors. I had a choice, hardwood floors or carpeting. Made the wrong choice and picked wall to wall carpeting. Too much work for me. Don't like to vacuuming, it's a pain in my butt. When my cat gets sick it's always on the carpeting even though tile is right there. I think she does this on purpose. I'm convinced she was out to get me. I finally said, ENOUGH! and had to admit once again I made the wrong choice. Ripped it all up and put down laminate. I love it. It's strong, doesn't scratch, easy to clean, especially with cat around. Give me a soft dust mop any day. Easy clean all the way around. Don't have real wood floors. Chose laminate because it's stronger and doesn't need to be sanded and redone. My opinion, my opinion only.
- Q: My 2yr old spilled ALOT of syrup on our large area rug...I tried HOT water, blotting the area, scrubbing the area and carpet cleaning solutions....any suggestions? Rug still extremely sticky when we step on the areas where the syrup is soaked in.
- I had this happen to our large area rug and I used our wet/dry Vacuum. If you don't have one you can borrow one from a friend or next door neighbor. Very handy to own. I made a very soapy hot water mix and kept wetting the syrup areas and then vacuuming the soapy water up and repeating. The hot water and soap worked well but on several really bad spots I used dishwasher liquid which broke down the syrup and made the cleanup much easier. I think I vacuumed the rug three times and now the rug looks new and the syrup is completely removed. The shop Vac wet and dry vacuum works great at removing spilled plates of food and especially syrup. Our children had a small party and we had a real mess until I thought about cleaning the rug with mu Shop Vac. Work great. Try this I think you will soon have a new looking area rug, with any syrup. They are having a sale on them at Home Depot for $49.00
- Q: I spilled some dark nail polish on a beige carpet. The polish has hardened making it almost impossible to come out. I've tried nail polish remover, carpet cleaner, bleach and even bathroom cleaners and I don't know what else to try or maybe a different brand?

- Q: Hey everyone I just found ONE carpet beetle larvae under my sheets! Do you think that there are more? How do I get rid of them? Thanks!
- Carpet Beetles probably. Definitely NOT Bedbugs. Bedbugs have incomplete metamorphosis so they don't really have a larvae, they have nymphs. Larvae look totally different than the adult while Nymphs look almost identical to the adult ... only smaller.
- Q: What is the name of a steel carpet that is used to filter dirt on the front door of the hall?
- The middle part is made of metal materails. It's called aluminum alloy dust mat which can be put on the doorway because it's dust removal effect is particularly good, you can also see them in some office buildings. Generally, you can see them in the large-scale hotels.
- Q: Hello, last night my dumb boyfriend spilt curry all over my sheepskin rug-tried cleaning with carpet cleaner but its not really taken out the stain. Should I take it to the laundrette? Dry clean? Please help!
- No take your dumb boyfriend to the cleaners you wont get a curry stain out of a sheepskin rug although you could try bleaching it if it hasn't gone down too deep into the wool Try Hydrogen Peroxide from your chemist shop. if that won't shift it you need a new one sorry
- Q: Refreshing my memory been a while so wondering how to lay carpet with a seam. Don't have enough carpet so have some extra carpet that looks the same that I need to use so wanting to lay the carpet with a seam so all the carpet will look as one.
- Practice - practice - practice First, the carpet pieces all need the fibers going in the same direction....if you can't do that, it won't matter how skilled you are at seaming a carpet, the piles running different dirctions will stand out. Clean cuts - you need a clean cut along the seam, on BOTH pieces to get them to look good when they are joined. Two kinds of tape - adhesive, and 'carpet' tape (which needs a seaming iron). BEFORE the carpet is stretched for the room, the adjacent pieces of carpet need to be joined. This involves making a straight, clean cut on both edges - this cut should match identically. I achieve this by overlapping the two pieces, and using a straight edge, cut through both layers at once. (You need a VERY sharp blade). Next, apply the seaming tape to the underside of the carpet. I prefer to use the professional grade carpet tape, and I own all the necessary carpet tools to do this. If you do not own them, they can be rented from a local business that rents tools and equipment. I wouldnt make the investment in tools for one room of carpet. If you are using carpet tape, cut it to fit the length of the seam (actually allow it to extend beyond the ends of the seam, for a couple of inches) Plug in the seaming iron, allow it to heat up, and then place it UNDER the carpet, but ON the tape. As the seaming iron heats up the tape, slide it along the length of the seam, pulling the carpet edges together behind it, and press them firmly into the tape. (A roller is handy for this) Do NOT overlap the edges, do NOT allow them to pucker...this is why a good clean cut is so important. Allow the tape to cool, and then you can stretch the carpet and trim it out. Have Fun

- Malignant Mesothelioma is an uncommon form of cancer that occurs within the body at a section called the Mesothelium. Mesothelioma is known to be divided into the three main categories of Pleural Mesothelioma (70% of all Mesothelioma cases), Peritoneal Mesothelioma, and Pericardial Mesothelioma. Mesothelioma can affect workers working in Abestos mills, or just from being at a place constructed with traces of Abestos and other toxic substances within the materials used to construct the area someone is in. Often times, those diagnosed with Mesothelioma have no clue that they have been exposed to the cancer causing substance usually until years later when the symptoms caused by Mesothelioma begin to emerge. Mesothelioma is a horrible case, but with the right type of Mesothelioma attorney/laywer, one can be entitled to anywhere from thousands to even millions of dollars in damages. Mesothelioma treatment options can be discussed with your physician. The treatment options for mesothelioma is often on the pricey side, and that is where attorneys can help you get payment help from employers that may have caused your Mesothelioma. Through Mesothelioma lawsuits, many are able to be compensated a substantial amount, sometimes even in the millions.
- Q: I am planning to rent Rug Doctor Pro from home depot. It says its a carpet cleaner. Someone told it's not steam cleaning. Whats the difference ? Should I just go with the carpet cleaning ?
- It is not steam cleaning. Its just normal carpet cleaning. Steam cleaning would be using only steam like an iron steam to get the wrinkles out. Our water in our commerical truck is 200 deg. Just use hot water.
