- Q: is there anything people can suggest to get an odour out of an area rug... it says specifially that I can't shampoo it so thats out.I can try febreeze but that always seems to just mask the odour it doesn't actually get rid of it.I think the odour itself stems from our vacuum, it needs replacing but until then I need to figure out a work around for this smelly rug as my infant usually has his play blanket ontop of it and has tummy time on there so I really don't want it to smell anymore.1. Can't shampoo2. Febreeze only masksAny suggestions please!!
- this odour was it caused by something that you spilled on ? perhaps milk! a steam cleaner would get it clean , why do you say that you can't shampoo? shampoo the entire carpet , keep the window open when you can and sprinkle some baking soda on it before vacuuming, it has nothing to do with the vacuum it self ,unless the bag is full and needs to be replaced,
- Q: Ok, i'm 14 and was quot;experimentingquot; with fire in my bedroom, i set a piece of paper alight, and was holding it, when it got to the point where i couldn't hold it any longer, i dropped it and stomped it out, then immediately noticed that the paper had kinda quot;fusedquot; with the carpet to create one big mess on the floor, and not need it gone urgently before my parents see! The carpet itself isn't really burnt i guess...
- cut the old burnt carpet out but just the top part, not all the way thru the carpet. Go into your closet, in the corner and cut the top fibers out and then take some super glue and lightly spread some glue on the area that you cut out. Then sprinkle the new carpet over the glue and let dry. You'll be just fine. You're just shaving off the top of the bad carpet and going into your closet and shaving off some good carpet to repair what you burned.

- Q: What color of the carpet looks good with gray fabric sofa?
- Beige
- Q: Im have these sheets with a solid comforter i like this rug a lot but does it match the sheets? please help
- Very nice sheets, but the rug-link isn't there. The pattern on the sheets is so bold that I would be very hesitant to use pattern elsewhere in the room. I'd go with bold color in the room, maybe a pale cool pink on the walls, some throw pillows in cool pink magenta orange, and a small bright orange scatter rug on the floor beside the bed. Each pattern has it's own voice, and these sheets are lively and bold and have a strong voice. Too much pattern is like the difference between having one child in the room with you and working in a daycare. Bedrooms shouldn't be too visually distracting, seeing as we hope to fall asleep there.
- Q: so how can i clean a really short haired carpet without chemicals? i've heard something like really hot boiled water in a spray bottle, then sprayed all over the carpet, then vacuuming the carpet works? would it? any help is appreciated, of and its brown normally, im just trying to get some of the dirt and cat hair out of it. thankyou =]
- Carpet Cleaning Without Chemicals
- Q: How can I remove the black glue on the carpet?
- If you are chewing gum or glue or glue (adhesive), Black & Decker is soft, with volatile oil, wash water, banana water, pine fragrance can be, if the fear of air pollution can also be Fengyoujing
- Q: is there any good dust removal methods for the carpet with lots of dust at home?
- Point out one point specially: Because of its natural lanolin. Sometimes the surface needs to be brushed with cotton dipped in cold water. 2, make it bright as new 3. Although the texture of the carpet will change in a long time.
- Q: I just moved into a new apartment about three weeks ago, and the carpet in only one room smells like ammonia. It's a really terrible smell and it won't go away after vacuuming many times. I know they shampooed the carpets before I move in. The lady before me who lived here had a dog. I know urine can smell like ammonia after it's sat awhile. Could it be that her dog peed on the carpet? Any ideas about how to get rid of the smell without shampooing the carpet?
- That is urine. You need to call a professional. First they need to find the areas affected with a black light. Then they need to treat each area with 1-2 quarts of enzymatic cleaner. Suck it out with a truckmount carpet cleaner and an attachment called a water claw sub surface extractor. You see, most of the urine is in the pad, some is in the carpet, some may be in the sub floor. There is no way to effectively deal with this yourself. How do I know? I am a pro carpet cleaner with easily 10,000 pet urine stains worth of experience, I know, people call me after they give up. After the carpet is extracted, I will rinse it with 2-4 quarts of water per stain, basically twice as much as the cleaner. Again I extract with the water claw. I get 99% of the moisture I put in back out. If I used a Rug Dr, I'd leave about 98% in. With a shop vac, maybe only leave 90% of what I put in. I much prefer to leave 1% in. Then I will clean your carpet and use a low pH rinse agent. You see, urine smells like ammonia, because the nitrates in urine eventually become ammonia. Ammonia has a pH around 12.0, which is very high. You want you carpet to be close to a neutral pH after you clean it, around 7.0. 12 being 5 points over 7 means I will rinse with something with a pH of 2, neutralizing the carpet back to 7 and the ammonia is gone. Use a certified pro that knows what they are doing. Your landlord is obligated to pay, he rented you an apartment that was represented as clean and it obviously isn't. You could take him to court over this. It is called breech of contract basically you are not receiving what you are paying for.
- Q: I have this OLD area rug from my grandmother. The pattern is beautiful and the rug itself is is good condition, however I'd like to brighten it up! -Especially the white areas which have now gone yellow. Anyone have any ideas on how to clean/treat this rug and restore/brighten it without damaging it with harsh chemicals, like bleach?
- I would reccomend taking it to a professional antique restorer. It would suck to mess up something that is that important to you. Also, the dyes may be natural-made dyes, and might be damaged if you used chemicals on it.
