- Socially responsible? Never with a rug, does not even make sense. Look when buying a rug, spend a littel extra money on a handmade rug. It is more durable, it will last hundred of years if taken care of. I have three Persian rugs that are over 100 years old. They are solid and beautiful. In my girls room I have a man made pottery barn kids rug. Every time I vac the girls rug it gets sheared from the vacuum and is falling apart after one year. This happened as well from a rug from JCPenney. Good luck!
- Q: I just moved into a 1st floor/basement apartment. Its currently has tile floors wich are nice but are extremely cold to walk on in the winter. I was thinking about putting carpet down until I stumbled across carpet tiles in home depot. Since im renting I dont want to damage the current ceramic tile floor, should I lay down regular carpet or use carpet tiles? I don't care about grout lines and i dont want anything glued to the floor. It doesnt need to be the best job I will more then likely do it myself. If I lay regular carpet do I need padding? Or if I use carpet tiles, what kind of barrier should I have between the current floor and the carpet to proctect the ceramic tiles?
- Rolled carpet would be a better choice. Carpet tile would be difficult to vacuum if it was not glued down. For the same reason you couldn't put carpet pad under carpet squares. Carpet pad will help with warmth and also help reduce the tile grout joints from showing through to the carpet surface. Carpet pad is not structural, but it should help at least for a while. Think about your door bottom clearance. Do you have enough space between the bottom of your doors to add carpet?

- Double sided adhesive glue on the top slab carpet thorn.It is recommended that you do not glue it. Once the carpet doesn't work, it will be troublesome to clean the glue. The better thing is to use double glue to prick the top, so that it can be reused.

- Carpeting can be too soft and slippery, and using yoga mats on carpet can be problematic because they tend to bunch up and are often feel too “squishy”. If you’re experiencing these problems then you might be interested in the LifeBoard. But my advice is that it is not good to practice yoga by seeing dvd or something like that. Better to praise under the guidance of a guide. :)

- Remove the carpet on the plant and animal oil, cotton can be used to clean gasoline dipped in high purity; fruit juice and beer stains, first with a soft cloth dipped in detergent solution to wipe, and then add a little vinegar water scrubbing solution; ironmould, in sewage sprinkle fine salt, reoccupy lukewarm soap scrub; if the trace is appropriate with milk soak for a moment, then brush can brush dipped in milk.
- Q: We had some pee spots on our area rug while house breaking our dog. We rented a rug doctor steam cleaner and cleaned our rug but now I can smell dog pee just sitting on the couch. I can assure you we were very thorough in cleaning this rug; went over the area many times using over half a bottle of solution then ran just water several times to get up all remaining soap. I can understand that it seems we have loosened and spread around the pee, but if doing a through job with a steam cleaner doesn't work, what else can I do? - The first problem is the Rug Doctor. The machine is way too underpowered to extract all the urine from the rug. It's like trying to boil a pot of water with a Bic lighter... same idea of being horribly underpowered to get the desired results, though it has the same basic method. A higher-end truckmounted unit is needed. The second issue is that cleaning alone will not eliminate odor. That's why separate deodorizers are available. Something with natural enzymes may counteract and neutralize certain odors. Also, all areas of contamination must be treated, such as the underneath of the backing of the rug. Another reason is that this kind of cleaning will bring odors up and out into the air (plus any heat will basically help activate odor causing bacteria), so you'll notice them more for a while. If your rug is made of wool, you may be smelling another odor as well. When lanolin (the sheep's body oil) gets wet, it puts off a strong odor... kinda like a wet dog smell. If that's the case, that smell will go away in a day or so. If it was an expensive rug, you may want to foot the bill for a professional cleaning company using the hot-water-extraction method and also have them deodorize it.

- Yes they are industrial quality cleaners. It may take a long time. We run our Rug Doctor for over 5 hours cleaning our carpet when it is really bad. Use Clorox2 with your detergent. That helps with really bad spots.As long as you use the anti-foam you can use other detergents. Like dawn on your bad grease spots but don't use too much it suds up alot. We use laundrt detergent.
