- Q: i want to get some lounge furniture. is it worth considering fabric furniture... are they harder to look after do they wear quicker and look horrible after a few years... i'm not into putting plastic covers over everything like everybody loves raymond.
- Eww I know what you mean about the plastic. Nasty! We have leather, but to be honest it's got quite scratched, just from daily use. We've had it for a few years. Nothing lasts forever and you will have to replace your furniture every few years anyway, so you might as well get whatever you like. Leather is so expensive and it doesn't really last as long as you might think. I'm getting fabric next time.

- If it's brown then duck egg blue goes really well with it. You could keep the walls in a neutral off white (almond white is nice) and just put one feature wall in the duck egg blue. The feature wall is usually the one adjacent to the window. Another idea is to use greens, you could try a limestone colour or if you want to be really bold, then go for a lime green which is really trendy at the moment! If you go with the lime then I'd just do a feature wall, not the the whole lot or it will be a bit heavy. Be careful doing the feature wall as the lines will need to be really crisp to look good! If you don't want to be too bold, you could try a light coffee brown that will compliment the brown sofa, just make sure that you use some coloured accessories so it's not all too brown. Some light blue scatter cushions would look great. Get samples before you decide an paint a big enough area on the wall so you can see how it looks with your furniture. Leave it a day so you can see how the light changes in the room Good luck and happy decorating!
- Q: My son, who's in fifth grade, had his friend over for a sleepover. The friend was sleeping on our five-hundred dollar couch, and during the night he had a wetting accident. The couch was completely ruined. Now his parents refuse to pay for the damage to the couch. They say it's the risk we run when there's a sleepover. What should I do? I'm considering taking them to small claims court or taking out an ad in the paper and telling everyone that their son wets the bed if they don't pay. But there's probably a better way to handle this.
- I just answered a post from parents who were punishing there 10 year old for bed-wetting. The child can't control the problem and you may have opened up a mess for him at home. Call the carpet cleaners who advertise they remove pet stains and odors from carpet, it works on any upholstery. You can also buy Natures miracle in pet stores which does not harm fabric but helps get rid of stain and odor of urine. Don't black list the kid or alienate the parents. Talk it out nicely, with some compassion and concern. You're raising a stink (sorry about the reference), over a sofa. Get a grip, this was no doubt a horrible thing for the kid and embarrassing for the parents. Yes, I do think they should have offered to pay for cleaning, but I don't sense they got any compassion from you. The kid may need some help to stop wetting the bed - why not be a hero instead of worrying about a sofa.

- Q: I have a small living room and have been trying to find suitable furniture that is not too overstuffed/big. The other issue is that the door is 30-31 inches wide and most furniture heights and depths are bigger than this. I have looked at Ikea's products and I'm considering the Karlstad loveseat or the new Sater sofa, which is a 2.5 seat leather sofa. Is Ikea furniture comfortable and durable. How good is the leather? How well does the furniture age? I don't want it looking shabby after a short while. Any other suggestions, and before you say it :), I already browse Craigslist, the local thrift store and Overstock, no luck yet. Suggestions welcome. Thanks

- I've had my leather sofas for about 5 years and they still look great. I think I've conditioned them once, but should probably do it more often. I can't really think of any cons to buying this.

- How about a futon? There a sofa then easily make into a bed and come in diff. sizes and styles. Generally they are less expensive than what you are talking about and they save a lot of space.
- Q: Looking for a decent priced leather couch. Willing to spend a couple thousand dollars. Saw an Italsofa (Natuzzi brand) that we liked a lot but saw some negative comments about Natuzzi on the internet. We prefer more modern styles with clean lines.
