- I had a sofa from Ikea and it hold up good for a couple of year if you don't have any kids or wild beast scratching it all up. I don't really like it since its construction is not the best. It may look good but wont last long. I want a sofa that cost 400-500 to last 6 year but what can you do. It's decent sofa but I rather send a little extra at some other place to get a better quality one.

- Frankly, I don't think you are going to get anywhere with this. I would try to see if they would give you some money instead of recovering the sofa. If you get it recovered, the recovered parts won't match the rest of it. I'd see if they will give you a cash settlement. These kinds of warranties are really not worth much! Ask for cash!

- I've never been a great fan of sleepers, primarily because the bars are HORRIBLY uncomfortable regardless of the mattress you're using. I saw some time ago in a catalog, a product that you put under the mattress that was supposed to stop this from happening, but I can't remember what it was called. You might be able to find it in a store however. A good alternative is either get a futon or an air mattress (we actually have both). The only thing I CAN recommend for sure is that if you do plan to get a sleeper, go to Jennifer Sofa. They have the very nicest, most durable products I've ever seen, and they're very affordable.
- Q: How can I remove candle wax from a microfiber sofa?
- If the candle wax is caked fairly thickly onto the sofa go to step 1. If it isn't very thick, skip to step 2. 1. Gently scrape some of the wax level down. (You can do this carefully with a heated vegetable peeler, knife, etc...) 2. Now you need a dry iron set to an appropriate setting (all irons are different) and lots of craft paper, or lots of paper towels, or lots of old t-shirts that you're using for rags, or old paper grocery bags. 3. Once the iron is to temperature, lay whatever you are using to absorb the wax, directly over the wax (paper, t-shirt, paper towels, etc.) Gently iron over the absorbent layer--continuously moving the absorbent layer to a clean position. NOTE: KEEP THE IRON MOVING ALSO--YOU DON'T WANT TO SCORCH YOUR SOFA!! 4. Be patient, step 3 can take a long time--depending on the size of the area covered with wax and the thickness of the wax spill. ALSO, if there is just a tiny bit of wax on your sofa, you may want to let it set and then just peel it up--be careful, you can peel up the top layer of the microfiber with this method. There are commercial products that remove wax. I would not recommend these unless you have a very, very, dark/black sofa. (Most contain an oil that can stain your fabric) Good Luck Best Wishes!!

- Futons are great space savers but not really practical for every day use and the cushions never stay in place properly when you use it as a sofa. Plus they can be a bit low. If you can cut back on other stuff you want to buy then invest what you save in buying as good a sofa bed as you can. Much nicer to sit on and some can be folded away with the bedding in place so you don't need to find room to store the pillows and duvet.

- One thing is absolutely certain. You will never stop a cat from scratching but you can divert his claws from your sofa, furnishings or carpet to something more appropriate. It is relatively easy to stop your cat scratching your furniture. First you must buy or make him a scratching post.Whenever you see your cat scratching the furniture tell him NO... or AH-AH in a firm voice, then gently pick him up and take him to the scratching post. Do this is a very gentle way so as not to scare him. Place his paws on the scratching post and simulate scratching. Praise him and tell him 'Good Kitty' and stroke him to make it an enjoyable pleasant experience. You will have to be diligent at first and try to catch him in the act of scratching your furniture. Never punish him for scratching inappropriately but praise him well when he does the right thing. It's all about reward and pleasant experiences. Good Luck!

- Well, Homer, if this is going to be your man room I think you should decide. I guess a lot depends on the amount of room you have, too. We have a lazy boy reclining sofa and love seat that hold 5 adults, which is nice if you are having the guys or family over and a pretty big coffee table. I don't know if you want a big, old chair for yourself or not. Are you going to get leather or cloth. I want to switch to leather just as soon as I get motivated, but it won't provide as much seating, I don't think. Enjoy whatever you choose.
