- Q: that moves constantly. I'm forever pulling and tugging on it to keep it flat and straight. The rug is located in my living room with a coffee table on it. What can I do, if anything, to prevent this thing from moving around on mesignedtired of tugging. :-)
- You need an area rug no slip pad. You can pick it up at a home improvement store. Another suggestion would be to staple it to the floor. But only if its not concrete or hardwood or tile.

- Q: how or what can i use to get the sticky residue off carpet ? previous owners put vinyl tile over carpet which was stupid does anyone know what i can use to get the sticky residue off carpet?? i have goo gone not sure if it would work does anyone know what would work.. that wouldnt take alot to get it off carpet.. seems to be those self adhesive tiles that are on top of carpet.. i'm lifting tiles off but the residue is on carpet making you stick kinda to carpet.. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!! thank you in advance..
- Just tear up the carpet. Maybe you will get lucky and have hardwood floors under it. You can sand and re-finish the floors if they're in bad shape. If no hardwood is under the carpet then yes, you will have to get new carpet.

- Q: Hi there,We will soon be replacing our old, ugly carpet and baseboards with new. I'm wondering what should be installed first - the carpet, or baseboards? What material is best suited for baseboards?Thanks for your help!
- Capet goes first, cuz if you ( or some body else ) instals baseboards fisrt and they are to close to the floor, then the carpet will not go under it as it should. Once the carpet is in place, then you come with the baseboard, pine, oak, plastic ( which is one of the newest materials for baseboard ) then sinply go on top of the carpet, not worring about the high, ( thickness of the carpet ) then finish it with a nice line of caulking. Even netter if you plan to paint the walls after, but if not, just make sure you clean nice the caulking whit a wet clean rag ti leave a nice finish. make sure the caulking it's NOT silicon, as silicon it's more dificult to clean, unless you know about it; then you know you can clean silicon with a damped rag in mineral spirits, but if you are not familiar with this, don't even try, specillay with you'r new carpet in place. At least this is the best way works for my, and I have had doing it many times.
- Q: I need a good turnout rug for my delightful stallion as he manages to break every rug I put on him, wether it being ripping off a belly strap (which I don't know how he does because he is in a field with post and electric fence, so there is no barbed wire or anything for him to tear it on) or he breaks the clips on the leg straps, then the rug slides. I need a proper turnout rug, with a bit of quilting for winter, not just a thin sheet. It obviously needs to be fairly sturdy and hardy but because of the number of rugs I have already bought him, then I can't afford to spend a fortune on it. if it was under ?30 that would be great, but absolutly nothing over ?40.So does anybody know any good brands or can find me links to good ones? - It doesn't matter so much what brand you get, just look for the denier count (don't get blankets with denier under 1000 as they're easily ripped). Some of Pessoas turnouts have a denier of 1800 while the average blanket is only around 800. Pessoa blankets cost a little more, but it's cheaper than buying a new rug every year! Hope this helps!
- Q: I've seen stainmaster carpet, and I was wondering which type of carpet resists stains the best. I'm redoing the carpet in a dining room, and my cats continually pee on the carpet in this room, so I need a robust carpet. Thanks!
- I have Stainmaster ... and I have 3 dogs and a cat. My carpet is not yet 4 years old, and it is destroyed. Stainmaster isn't worth the time it takes to type the word. OK, the truth is ... if a stain is just on the surface, and you catch it and clean it RIGHT AWAY ... yes, you can usually get it out. However, if it soaks through, forget it. You may be able to get most of the visible stain out, but the smell? No way. If you could replace your carpet with Pergo, tile, anything BUT carpet, I'd recommend it. If, however, you do want to use carpet, I'd look into commercial-grade carpet. That's the stuff used in department stores, restaurants, offices, etc. Not too luxurious, but pretty tough. It is a very tight carpet ... most wet stains and spills will wipe up. And it can be vigorously scrubbed without damaging it. If you buy a carpet with an allover pattern, in a medium-to-dark tone, it will better hide the stains than one that is a solid color, especially a light color.
