- Q: How to deal with the dirty carpet?
- If the area is relatively large, you can have door-to-door service because there is special carpet cleaning company; if the area is not large, you can treat it by yourself. In the bathroom, flat the carpet, soak it, pour special cleaning detergent, preferably without washing powder because washing powder's particles are easily fall into the cracks of carpet, making that not easy to clean, then use a soft brush to gently brush on the carpet repeatly, until the bubble's color is relatively clean, you can rinse it with water, preferably use sprayer from side to side to wash until the water clean up, and then roll up the carpet, squeeze water, flat on the balcony or other outdoor flat place, until it day up in the shade.

- If it's only the very top part of the nap in the carpet, you can try snipping off the burned parts. Trim around the area somewhat as well, so the snipped dip in the carpet isn't as obvious. If it's too deep to cut, but only a small area (smaller than a quarter) and/or out of the usual area, you can try painting it over. Match the color, paint the spot, and then clear-paint it over to seal it. If it's bigger than that AND deep, um , area rug?

- Q: We purchased the recommended pad for use on carpeted areas. The problem is that the wrinkles are pronounced/high. This diminishes the attractiveness and safety of the new rug.The rug was tightly rolled for shipping. It was laid across a bed for 4-5 days allowing the edges to hang hoping to straighten and smooth out these wrinkles. I went to my local home depot and bought carpet squares. I got some easy up adhesive and stuck them down. I had to raise the door since it's a little lower than it's supposed to be, but it looks great. They stay down and when the landlord came to collect rent, I showed him and then he decided to change the whole house and put down BEAUTIFUL cherry hardwood and bought us runners of our choice color .Show the landlord the rooms potential, but let her know it's TOTALLY undoable and maybe she'll understand. Say your allergies can't stand the stained item or something. Be creative!
