Q: My roommate spilled fruit punch on our carpet a month ago. Any idea how to get it out?
It might be a little late, but go to bed bath and beyond or some store like that and find a product called WineOut. If it can handle red wine out of my white carpet it should easily handle fruit punch.
Q: PLEASE HELP ME I AM SO SCREWED!!!!!!!! ITS DARK BLUE AIL POLISH ON SUPER LIGHT CARPET!!!!!
Only good quality carpet steam cleaning machines can remove nail polish perfectly from the carpets. Use a quality carpet steam cleaner for best results.
Q: Basically, my dad washed the rug with laundry detergent. But he put it in an area to dry, where there is no sunlight. So it didn't dry all the way and ended up creating this mildew smell on it. I decided to wash it again, but this time with a solution called Fiber Cleansing, that is used to fight stains on carpets. And I vacuumed the rug with a wet/dry vacuum to get all the water out of it. I got most of it out, but still had a smell to it. So I decided to pour a box of baking soda all over it, to get the smell out of it. (What the internet told me to do) After leaving the baking soda on there for 2 days, still nothing. The rug itself is pretty dry now, still a bit damp on the underside of it. It still smells. What can I do?
Forget the bleach and any other solutions given. Re launder the rug but this time add 1/3 cup bicarb soda and 1/3 cup white vinegar to the wash and 1/3 cup white vinegar to the rinse. Both of these will absorb the odour and the white vinegar will kill any mould/mildew. Make sure the rug is dried where there is an airflow, even if there is no sunlight, but sunlight is good. The trick is to make sure the rug dries as quickly as possible and a good airflow helps this happen Re what you did with the baking powder..... the rug needed to be dry first. As it was still damp the mildew was still growing. Sprinkling bicarb soda on a dry rug that has an odour will absorb the odour. I promise, if you follow the instructions, the above will work. that
Q: We want to store it under our house, but it can get dusty and being in Australia we deal wih extreme's in temperature, really hot to qutie cool. How do we prevent mould spiders gettting in there?
Hi I'd roll it up good and tight, tie it a few places so it stays really tightly rolled and then cover the ENTIRE thing in plastic --maybe 2 really large plastic bags from a mattress store or a moving store--even a rug store. OR a few tarps--tie it up again too. Once it's super duper tied up and plasticated (my word) --then you can leave it outside.
Q: my doctor prescribed me this benzoyl peroxide gel for my face and i accidentally got a big glob of it on my rug. I went to clean it up with these red tissues and it started to turn my rug red! The next day, I put this carpet cleaner on it (one that has to sit for 15 minutes then you vacuum it) and it turned it orange!
Your rug looks bleached. If that is the case, you will have to color it. But, if this indeed a stain causing this color: Go to Home Depot and pick up Liftoff 2 (oil and adhesives) It will be in the paint aisle. spray it on your stain, let sit for 30 seconds, scrub and vacuum. Repeat as necessary, rinse and let dry. However, like I said before, it looks like your rug is bleached, not stained.
Q: can the welcoming red carpet paved outside the hotel door be used in rooms?
no, it will be damaged because of a long time friction. there is professional engineering carpet.
Q: A large jar type candle fell over and a large amount of melted candel wax pouring all over the carpet, and it has hardened.
Place a wet rag on the waxed area and iron it.
Q: I recently moved in with my boyfriend but I told him I'd only move in if he put a carpet down because we have a 10 month old son who does not want to sit still. It's been a couple months and everytime I bring it up he dismisses it. I don't want to wait any longer. I will pay for it and he already said he knows how to put it down. The floor is completely bare...it's not hard wood flooring but the wood that's underneath the carpet it comes with. It has staples to hold down the wood and all along the edges are those sharp nail things. He said that we need something additional to put between the wood floor and the carpet that makes the carpet soft or something. What I need to know is WHAT all do I need to put down a suitable carpet for my son to play on.Thanks for any and all help!!
carpet,tackstrip,padding, okorder good luck!
Q: i washed my area rug with a little soap and water due to the fact it has spilled milk and puppy pee on it. i was wondering why it has a sweet but yet funny smell and how to get rid of it cause its not in just one spot can i wait for it to dry sprinkle some baking soda on it then rub it in and vacuum i washed this thing when it was 80* and bright and sunny out
It may be an issue of what your rug is made of. I had a similar problem with a synthetic rug and I had to hang it outside for weeks to get the stink out of it (we'd used a steam cleaner 4 times on it so we knew it was clean). Make sure you've gotten all the soap out of the carpet because that can actually attract more dirt! Also try cleaning the surface the rug was on. Sometimes the smells can get trapped there too. Good luck!
Q: can i pop them in the dryer briefly? or would they burn the rugs have a rubber bottom . thanks also wat cycle should i useDOnt be rude
If you are talking about a plastic shower curtain, then that would be okay. In fact they would help to scrub the curtain in the washer. But don't put either one in the dryer. Just hang the curtain back up after you wash it. Use a gentle cycle, warm wash and warm rinse. Take the curtain out immediately before it gets too cold. Because if it is plastic, it could crack. I have a front loader washer. Use a slow delicate cycle for a top loader.
