- Q: Does it matter what kind you buy? Like, can I just go buy any speaker I want and it will work, or do I need to buy a certain type of speakers? Is it just like a mouse where it will work on any type?
- Pretty much man. Altec Lansing are pretty big name computer speakers, Bose has some out, Creative has some, Phillips has some. It's just personal preference to be honest, I've got a set of creative 2.1 speakers w/ subwoofer and they sound incredible. I think they sound better than the few altec lansing sets I 've had too. - Have you tried connecting the *BRAND NEW* speakers to another computer to see if they sound ok? Just because they're new doesn't guarantee that they'll sound good. Remember, you get what you pay for and if they were cheap, they'll sound cheap.
- Q: I have a plasma that has two long speakers screwed to either side and attached to the tv via removable speaker cables. I am building this into a wall and to save on space need to remove the speakers. This done i have no sound unless i turn my home cinema on for sounound sound. I would like to attach two in wall mounted speakers as these would fit to allow me to watch tv without the amp on. Watching news etc with baby asleep. Uptill now i could use the tvs speakers but now need to know if I can replace them with two other small in wall speakers like the ones you get in a bathroom. The out put will only be powered by the tv not an amp and the speakers on the tv at the mo are 7w 4 ohm each. Anyone know of a in wall speaker capable of this that is no bigger than 5 round mounting. Ps do I need to get a 7w speaker to replace as the lowest I can find is around 15w for a ceiling speaker? Any advice would be good. Thanks.
- Speakers with higher power ratings (more than 7 Watts) will work fine, but try to stick with 4 ohm impedance for the new speakers.

- I'm all the same thing with you. I cut the cable to the speakers and tape them all together. Now this was working and one day they all just tweeted. My amp doesn't respond anymore only the one in the box I now connect my phone to play music . I woundered what happened I try to buy I a new cable taped them again and it worked again for a little while. So I tried direct contact from the speaker to my computer and that doesn't work either but my computer alone plays music. I think my speakers need the amp. In the end I think I tripped over the cable and it messed up the plug to the speakers cause like I said only the speaker in the amp works. god these things are so expensive and cheap at the same time sorry.

- Yes, but they must be powered speakers, the laptop output is not amplified, it's a headphone level output. You can get speakers with batteries, or you can get some speakers that run off USB and can run on USB power. (won't get very much volume though).
- Q: Could someone fill me in on the basics on home stereo amplifiers and speakers. I currently have an amplifier and some speakers but 2 sets of speakers have blown and I'm wondering what I should buy next to prevent this from happening again.I only play vinyl records off it, or plug in an ipod for current music.The amplifier I have is an old RCA (1990's) and it is 280watts. It has 6channels. Left Right Main, Front and Rear, and Surround. When the speakers blew, I had 2 in the main port. I think they were 100watts ea.Currently I have 2 optimus 100watt speakers in the main, and 2, 80 watts in the surround.I guess I just don't understand the wattage thing. Is the total 280watts divided by how many speakers are running and what their wattage is? Is having 2, 100watt speakers too much? For parties, I like the music to be loud. Thanks for your assistance.

- ur speaker whould have got some fault so consult the service center. u may not have connected it properly just turn the pin of the speaker where u have connected it with the cpu u might have not adjusted ur equializer to the room settings
- Q: I really dont know much about computer speakers but i unplugged everything plugged it back in and its still making a fuzzy sound. Does this mean that their is something wrong with my computer or just my speakers. I think somebody knocked one of my speakers on the ground, but they all have static coming from them. Do i just buy new speakers?
- Okay, let's solve this problem. Do both speakers sound fuzzy the same? Is there a buzzing sound in the speakers even when you are not sending music to them? Do you have a headset from an ipod or some other device you can plug into the earphone jack of the computer and see if it sounds okay? Are you plugged into the correct speaker jack. Powered speakers, speakers with a power cube in the wall outlet should be plugged into the Aux out jack of the computer, or line out, not the speaker out. The speaker out jack is for speakers which are not powered from a wall outlet. Maybe you have the speakers plugged into the wrong jack on the computer. Email me if I can give additional help.

- Hmm. Deleted drivers you mean? That is the only reason that would keep your speakers from getting sound, that or they could be broken. For sound drivers just go to your computer manufacture's website (Not the speaker manufacture) and search for your systems drivers. Look for sound drivers.
