- Q: i have a Logitech speakers for a long time and they have been working very well.now i have a problem.they are working, but very, very quiet, but noisy.they only work when they are turned up to max volume, but still super weakly !
- Are the speakers powered (i.e. need AC power)? If yes, the power adaptor may be spoilt. Connect a good pair of speaker to check whether it is the speaker or the PC that is faulty. Alternatively, connect an MP3 player to the speaker to check that speakers are working alright.

- Why don't you just use the headphones directly through the speakers, i am sure that there is a port on it. That is the only way that the speakers will go off and only the headphones will play sound.

- Usually you have to have the same amount of speaker outputs that are running the 6 speakers you have. Most outputs don't run more than 4 speakers. You might need an additional amp to run all 6 speakers.

- Sounds like a lot of work to get some old speakers to run with a computer. If the speakers are rated at 5watts, this would be their RMS value or constant wattage they can see for long periods of time. Without getting into too much detail with regards to sensitivity, 1w1m specs, etc. If the speakers are rated at 5watts I don't think they would be worth the effort just to plug them into your computer. Most computer speakers today run on a 25 -50 watt amplifier and costing around $50-100 and can produce some very high end sounds at your computer.

- It depends a bitare you wanting to use the old speakers with the new subs? Since your old speakers are USB does your computer have a normal sound card output on it? If it does then yes you can connect it and it should work fine, if not then you will need to get a soundcard for the pc. Now your old speakers will not directly connect to the logitech speakers if that is what you are asking, so your USB speakers will be one connection and the subs another connection.

- Based on your external speakers sounding OK, your sound card is OK. You probably have a loose wire or connector in your internal speaker wiring. It's unlikely that both speakers would fail at the same time. But if you only have one internal speaker (common on old laptops), the one speaker could have failed and your sound would be fuzzy and quiet. Several laptops, including Dell 700M units, run speaker wires thru the LCD hinge area causing them to flex and eventuall break. You'll need to remove the upper case plastics and keyboard and look at the wiring and speakers to see what needs repair.

- Hmm. Deleted drivers you mean? That is the only reason that would keep your speakers from getting sound, that or they could be broken. For sound drivers just go to your computer manufacture's website (Not the speaker manufacture) and search for your systems drivers. Look for sound drivers.
