- Q: Hey just a quick question . I recently purchased a car speaker amplifier and after doing research i still have one question. When you wire the speakers to the amplifier do you unplug the wire form the speakers to stereo or do you leave both of them connected. Thanks

- Q: I think I burned the speaker coil out of my speakers.In the process of troubleshooting I noticed when my speaker wire from my amp touches + and - it sparked.What if any options do I have for saving the speakers and or amp? Did I wire something wrong?
- The speaker coils can be checked simply by momentarily connecting a 1.5 volt flash light battery across the terminals - the speaker will emit a low volume thud each time the speaker is quickly connected across the battery if it's functioning. The amp, unfortunately, is not so easy to check - if the speakers test OK and the amp doesn't work, it more than likely is defective and needs to be repaired or replaced.

Step 3Click Start and Control Panel then choose the speaker and hardware option. Step 4Choose the Advanced feature and confirm the type of speakers you're installing. Select Satellite speakers if you are using the standard two speakers, or Surround Sound if using a surround sound setup. Step 5Turn up the volume on your speakers and you are ready to begin enjoying the increased audio output.

- Is this for the Rear? A lot of it depends on the current gear. Did you buy a $299 box system? If so - you cannot add a different speaker. The speakers with the all-in-one system only work with that system. The ability to mix parts - or even repair the thing - was given up for the low price. If it is a name-brand speaker, then you should try to get another speaker of the same make and model as the right-rear. This is so the sounds will not shift tone as they swirl around. Ideally - all 5 of your speakers should be identical but the back 2 can be different, but they should match. In truth - 5 different speakers will 'work' but dont expect a good surround sound illusion. Hope this helps.

- Disconnect the monitor's speaker connector. Replug it to the new speaker. But I think if you just connect your speaker from the sound card, the monitor' s speaker automatically switch off.
