- Q: I bought a pair of BIC Acoustech PL 980 tower speakers. The speaker has two 8 active woofers. Not subwoofers, just woofers. I want to know what are active woofers in a tower speaker?
- They're calling them active woofers, simply to differentiate the two woofers which are active drivers, from the other two, similar looking woofer cones, which are passive radiators.

- Just the ipod touches, all I can say is that my 4th gen ipod touches speaker is louder than my 2nd gen ipod touches was.but neither of them have loud speakers, still kind of lowNow my blackberry has a really loud speaker, I don't even need headphones when I am running I have it on my belt and can hear it just fine, where as not the case with ipod touch speakers.

- Anything you add to the speaker cones will affect the sound quality. I don't know of any speaker paint, but if it's that much of an issue, you could get your speakers reconed or just have them replaced. Personally, if they sound alright, I couldn't care less. Another idea: put a cloth or wire mesh over the speaker enclosure. This should nullify the cosmetic state of the speakers while not appreciably messing with your sound.
- Q: I bought 5.1 ArtDio home theater system speakers I connected them to my laptop (Dell M1330) and sound only came out of the two front speakers and the sub woofer, not the center and rear speakers. I tried playing around with my laptop by going to the sound settings in the control panel to get all the speakers working, but then I lost sound from ALL of the speakers including the speakers built into my laptop, so now I have NO sound at all. - It isn't your speakers, it is the source. The music needs to be encoded for 5.1 (this means that it has to have information attached to the different noises that tells it to go to the back right speaker or the front left speaker). Your iPod is only encoded for stereo (left right). As for the computer, you should be able to go to Control PanelSoundsVolume tabAdvanced, in Speaker settings5.1 Surround sound speakers.

- alpine will sound better but wont take the same beating as a kicker speaker. and kickers will be louder anyhow, ive used the alpine r and s door speakers, sounded awesom but wont take the volume knob as good as other speakers, look into polk and infinity, overall great speakers

- Q: I have a Philips 75 Watt sub and want some speakers to go with it. I don't have a lot of money and was thinking of just using computer speakers and connecting them together to my phone with 3.5mm splitters. How many Watts should the speakers themselves (not including the sub) be and what brand or specifically what speakers that are cheap and sound good should I get? They don't have to be computer speakers but they do need to have a 3.5mm connection or a way to convert to a 3.5mm connection.
- I don#x27;t know how the philips 75 watt speakers sound like, but you can try to find good speakers on OKorder for low prices. If your looking for better LOOKING speakers, water show speakers are good only 30 bucks but probably don#x27;t sound as good as your Philip ones. I#x27;m not an expert.
- Q: I have two after market speakers i installed in the rear of my chevy aveo . they fit up by the back window, there is nowhere in the door for speakers in back. So these speakers can be seen from the trunk. that being said they have all that air space in the trunk, would it be better to build a little box to cap the back end of the speakers for sound?

- You can not use an HDMI cable to connect a speaker. The HDMI cable carries the audio and video in one cable. The wires used for this is small and not ideal for connecting speakers. Wires for speaker use normal would be a 16 gauge wire. You connect your receiver video output to the projector input by using HDMI cable. You connect a speaker wire from the receiver to the speakers. Hope this will help you out.
