Q: If the speakers are very close (almost touching it) to the lcd monitor can they damage the screen or damage it in any way at all?The speakers are 2x40W btw.Tnx
Hi, Non magnetically shielded speakers can hurt monitors if placed too close to monitor. It is important to note that monitors that are tube based have problem with magnets. If you have a LCD then you are fine. If you have tube based monitor look for this sign: 1. Do you see abnormal pictures anywhere on the screen especially in areas near the speakers. Like rainbow effect. If so then move the speaker away till the effect is gone. Rainbow effect is a sign of magnetic interference. Usually woofers are biggest problem since they have bigger magnets. once you move the speakers away, the effect may not immediately disappear depending the strenght of the speaker magnets the effect will take more time. I would move the speakers away as far as possible and observer over time (few days) if the effect reduces. If it reduces but does not disappear then move the speakers away further till the effect is completely gone over time. 2. Sometimes having a coil of wire with current passing through it sitting next to the monitor can also cause magnetic interference. Remember the principals of magentism, coil of wire with live current flowing is certain direction will produce magnetism within the area, if you dont remember thats fine. Check for such coils too and move them away. Regards Ash Vote best answer if this helps.
Q: I want to put new speakers in the doors of my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I already know what size will fit - 6x9 in the front and 6.5 in the back. Does anyone know what depth of speaker will fit? I want to try and stay with Infinity (it has the Infinity Gold system currently). The size specifications of the current speakers (like mounting depth) would be hugely helpful also. Thanks!
For the front 6x9's Speaker cut-out opening: 8-1/2 x 5-3/4 Speaker opening depth (to glass): 2-7/8 Factory speaker mounting depth: 2-11/16 Factory speaker thickness: 3-5/16 Factory speaker size: 9-1/8 x 6-5/16 Distance between screws: 6-9/16 4-5/8 Factory speaker part # (Infinity): 56038656AA Rear speaker 6.5's Speaker cut-out opening: 5-3/4 diameter Speaker opening depth (to glass): 2-7/8 Factory speaker mounting depth: 1-7/8 Factory speaker thickness: 2-9/16 Factory speaker size w/grill: 6-3/4 Distance between screws: 6-1/2 Factory speaker part # (Infinity): 56038657AA
Q: can some one please explain to me , what the ohm rating on a speaker means, and what speaker can connect to which ohm rating on a receiver.
Polaris has it right but I want to point out that any good quality name brand amp will be fine with 4 to 8 ohm speakers. Most speaker manufacturers use 4, 6 or 8 ohm numbers but the truth is that the speakers can range from 2 to 20 ohms regardless of what the manufacturer rate them at. My point is, don't be too concerned with resistance (impedance) ratings. Get a good quality receiver with good quality speakers and you'll be fine.
Q: I need a new surround left speaker for my surround sound system, and was wondering if I could buy single speakers, and does it need to be the same kind as the speakers that I have currently or can I just get any old speaker and that will work when I hook it up?
i does no longer propose it in any respect. those abode theater in a container are no longer very sturdy interior the potential score they provide. by changing the speaker resistance it additionally reduces the potential going to the audio gadget. in case you had a receiver then it would be no concern in any respect, as a results of they are rated to handle audio gadget from 4 to eight OHM. desire this might assist you out.
Q: I just bought a Used Mini Cooper S JCW. Love the car however the stereo is disappointing. I looked up after market stereos and most of them involve taking the whole center console out making it an eye sore. I was wondering if i can just put upgraded speakers in my car without touching the center console. Will this still work? In other words, can i just disconnect the old speakers and put new ones. Will this enhance the sound and if so does anyone know good speakers for a good price?
Aftermarket speakers will sound better then OEM speakers, but to get the most out of them, you either need to hook up aftermarket speakers to an amp or get an aftermarket head unit, because a stock head unit can't suppose the amount of RMS power that the aftermarket speakers need/want/can use.
Q: Do center channel speakers offer any advantage over a normal bookshelf speaker? I want a new center speaker but center channel speakers are so expensive compared to a bookshelf speaker.
Two speakers.
Q: I just bought a Pioneer DEH-2000MP and when I started to read the installation, it said I need 50 watt speakers, now i checked my factory speakers and there only 15 watts, I have a 1994 Toyota Camry. When I bought the car it had an aftermarket deck already installed, but its one of those cheap Walmart brands, So my question is if i have to upgrade my speakers or not, and if i dont what is the worse that could happen?
Go ahead and install it. Your factory speakers should hold up just fine. If they do blow, then you'll know you need new speakers.
Q: I want to use the computer speakers ( its an HP ) and i want to get rid of my speakers so i can use my computer.
what speakers i have built in speakers they work and i have external speakers that i plug into the center port if i don't want them i unplug the cable
Q: I am constantly going to thrift stores looking for speakers and home theater receivers. I don't buy any though because I want to know if the speakers will work with the receiver. Is there any simple method to determining this? Like matching watts and ohms? Please, if possible, just a simple way to determine if the speakers are compatible with receivers.
Pretty much any standard 4 to 8 ohm speaker will work with any home theater receiver. It is a good idea to test the speakers there at the store if you can. Maybe bring along a short piece of speaker wire already stripped for testing each speaker and each speaker output on the receiver. Blown speakers will not work at all or they may just sound raspy. Don't worry about the watts too much. As long as it is a name brand speaker, it will work fine as long as you are not blasting the receiver at full volume.
Q: Does anyone know the size of the speakers in a 05 Grand Cherokee. The door speakers, and any other speakers there may be. And also, do you know any good replacement speakers (like alpine, kenwood, Sony, Panasonic etc) that are good, and have the best sound quality. And is it worth it? Thanks
