Q:I am running Windows XP , suddenly and for no reason, my speakers quit working. I have checked all the connections and they are ok, The headphones are working ok . Any help is greatly appreciated: Previous smart *** answers aside Try plugging your speakers into a mp3 player, walkman, or anything that has an plug in for your speakers. If they work, then it could be your sound card has a problem. I don't know where you plug your headphones into, but if they are plugged into the speakers and working, then you could take your speakers a part and check those connections. Q:i am thinking about amping my back two speakers and i was wondering if i would get more power to the front speakers from an aftermarket head unit since the rear speakers arent connected to the head units wires.: If ur get a after market head unit more than likely your front speakers will be louder but so will your rear speakers you'll have to compensate for the power difference of the head unit and make the corrections for the speakers as well I have all four door speakers amped nothin is going off my head unit beside my tweeters and it's loud as hell so just make the proper adjustments to the head unit and equal out the power by fading to the front or rear and it'll sound great any more questions hit me up

Q:I have a 200 mitsubishi diamante and I wonder if it can fit 6.5 speaker size for the doors.: different brand speakers have different size backs. you need to take the cover off your door. take out your current speaker and take it to a shop. if the new speaker is as thick as your current one , it will fit. if not, its going to collide with your window. as for screws not matching. a drill fixes it all , or washers :).

Q:I have a relatively small speaker that has a treble and a bass, the treble speaker works but the bass does not is there a way for me to fix this? The bass speaker is not ripped and everything seems like it should work but does not. It speaker has a standard speaker wire thats red and black that fits in the stereo that i have. I have verified that the stereo is not the problem by switching the wires between the 6 different connections the stereo has.: What sometimes happens to a speaker is the little braided wire from the terminal to the voice coil fractures. That fracture might be corrected with a small amount of solder applied just where it's broken to rejoin it. If the actual voice coil itself is burned out, the speaker is toast. Very expensive and high quality speakers can be re-coned and get a new voice coil and that is pretty expensive and specialized and not worth doing to a book shelf speaker.

With my Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X693 they have less bass then the stock speakers but there is enough to balance the sound perfectly. I would rather leave the bass to my subwoofers anyway. I'm running these speaker only off the headunit (no amp) and they are a little louder then the stock speakers but they are MUCH clearer and can go up A LOT louder without distortion then the stock speakers.
