- Q: Every time i listen to music or watch a video on my computer, the speakers will suddenly make a loud noise and cut out any other audio. Its hard to explain the sound it makes but it sounds kind of like a choppy horn going. It only lasts for a split second, but no matter what i do, how loud it is, it will keep doing this, around every 10 seconds or so. I know for a fact that it is not because of the speakers.(it happend with my last ones too) Also, im not sure if this is the same problem or not, but i cant watch any videos using Windows Media Player. It will show the video but it will be all lines through it and distorted. Any help on fixing my problem would be great. Thanks.

- 15 speakers are too heavy to efficiently reproduce mids and highs they are pretty much all subwoofers. Some DJ speakers have a 15 that will play mids but they always have a high frequency driver and usually sound pretty crappy as far as SQ

- Q: Do center channel speakers offer any advantage over a normal bookshelf speaker? I want a new center speaker but center channel speakers are so expensive compared to a bookshelf speaker.
- Actually yes you can. Center channel speakers were designed to be low profile and have a large listening angle. If you want to use a bookshelf speaker, you should not turn it on its side(assuming its a standard single woofer-tweeter design) as that would cause breakup nodes along the horizontal listening axis(which is a more important axis because typically not everyone is sitting perfectly in line with the speaker. A bookshelf speaker placed in its normal vertical position will typically not have the large off-axis response that a center channel speaker would. However, it will have a more even frequency response with less areas of cancellation between the multiple woofers. Basically, go ahead and do it, but make sure you leave the bookshelf speaker upright and try to sit as close to inline with the speaker as possible as this will give you the best sound possible.

- Q: I have a computer speakers with a subwoofer but for some reason my left speaker wont work the subwoofer works great ans so does my other speaker but not my left one then I put on my other pair of speakers which both work. And again no sound came from the left speaker. By the way the speakers are connected to the subwoofer. Is my subwoofer the problem how can I fix it

- Q: I have a clarion deck and four factory speakers( two 5 1/2s and two 4x6s). When i start my truck the speakers work just fine, but at random times they will just stop working, but my stereo doesn't shut off, just the sound does from the speakers. I went to aspen sound and they said it was a blown speaker, which sounds right because one of my speakers sounds fuzzy and unclear. But i don't get how the speakers will sometimes work for a couple of days without shutting off and then sometimes only a couple of seconds. So i think it would be a bad connection or pinched wire behind the deck. It just doesnt make any sense that it would be a blown speaker if the sound shuts off when i slam the door or hit a speed bump. What do you think?
- Did someone wire the speakers such that one side of the speaker is grounded to the door frame? That could account for the intermittent behavior. If so, you can fix it by either running a second wire, or just pull a new PAIR of wires, or get a braided grounding conductor and sheet metal screw it from door to door frame on each door.

- The speakers need to have the proper power rating and impedance. Also, for proper sound in your home theater, the speakers should be acoustically matched, especially the 3 front speakers.

- A friend of mine has a bose system. One time he dropped one of the speakers and it broke. So he called bose was honest with them and told them what happened, and they sent him a brand new speaker so he could have a complete system. Maybe they'll do that for you too.

- A good speaker with high efficiency (95dB+) and an amplifier with decent power (250 watts RMS per channel or more), properly positioned will provide plenty of sound to a 250-guest assembly. If you can hoist the speakers above the crowd and position them at the crowd, sound will be distributed properly. To answer your subject heading directly, 6KW is easily more than plenty of power for all but the most inefficient speakers, and make sure the speakers can handle that kind of power. Distortion will greatly affect the quality of the sound as well as the reliability of the system. Happy listening!
