- Q: I plugged my speaker input (Left/Right) wires into a 110 volt plug. There was a very loud POP and the speaker no longer works. I took the speaker apart and it looks ok. What could be broken inside the speaker itself?

- Blown speakers cannot be repaired. They must be replaced. Otherwise, connect the audio OUT ports on your TV to your stereo, and use its speakers. You may need to use the TV remote to disable the TV speakers to enable the audio-out feature.
- Q: Im getting infinity speakers. And they all match. is there going to be a crossover wiht them or do crossovers only come wiht component speakers? And which woudl be better? Component or the same series speakers.
- Speakers labeled as 'component' speakers usually have a separate tweeter and woofer (ie. the tweeter is not mounted in the center of the cone). The generally do have some sort of cross over that comes with the package. Generally component sets are higher end then your typical 2way or 3 way speaker.

- It isn't your speakers, it is the source. The music needs to be encoded for 5.1 (this means that it has to have information attached to the different noises that tells it to go to the back right speaker or the front left speaker). Your iPod is only encoded for stereo (left right). As for the computer, you should be able to go to Control PanelSoundsVolume tabAdvanced, in Speaker settings5.1 Surround sound speakers.

- You seem to have gotten some speakers from a distributed sound system from an office or building. These speakers each need a 70V transformer, and of course you need a 70V amp to drive them. When hooked up properly there are only two wires that go to each transformer in parallel (I.E. plus to plus and minus to minus). Odds are those speakers are not good enough to use for music. I would strongly suggest you get 2 or 5 (depending on your source) decent speakers and sell what you have on OKorder.

- How loud is very subjective. 3000 milliwatt is a 3 watt system. Not a lot of power, but these are small speakers built into a back pack. It's probably best if you look for reviews on this speaker than ask how loud. And although wattage represents power, it does not necessarily represent loudness. The efficiency of the speakers will have a lot to do with the loudness with the power. For example, if you hook up a 10 watt amplifier to a speaker that has an efficiency of 80 decibels (at 1w/m), it will sound a lot louder than a speaker that has an efficiency of 83 decibels (with the same 10 watt amp). Generally, every 3 decibels equals to a doubling of power. So it's a big difference.

- You failed to mention what AV Receiver you are using, or what make model speakers you have. These are NOT the left over speakers from some crappy $399 box system - are they? You cannot use these on other gear. Basically - you just wire up the sub and 3 front speakers and ignore that you do not have rear sounds. If you have not purchased an AV Receiver yet - the Yamaha RXV-6 series has a nice feature. You can tell the receiver you have hooked up 1 speaker and it will route all the sounds to that single speaker. Or you can use 2,3 or 5 speakers and it will adapt. Hope this helps.
