Q:is the 1st chair the best?: 1st chair is the head of the section. I'm assuming you are in a violin section, because usually there aren't 7 or more of anything else. Don't worry about it. Music is fun wherever you are in the orchestra, and there is a lot less pressure on someone a few stands back from the front. All of this scrapping over who is in front of whom just makes everyone miserable.

Q:I have a pretty old looking office chair and when I sit on it for 1 hours+, my butt gets numb. Is this normal? Are the modern office chairs more comfy?: No they generally don't but poor circulation and sitting still for long periods can make your butt numb. Also puts you at risk for blood clots. One thing you can do is get a new chair, but if you still have poor blood circulation you will still get a numb butt over time. to cure get up and walk around every hour or put one of those foot massages under the desk the vibrations will help with poor circulation, if you can get into a position with your legs up above your chest every hour that will certainly help but the numb butt is not the chair but your blood circulation and that also puts you at risk for blood clots and a host of other issues that are not pleasant its well worth to unplug yourself and walk around 5 -10 minutes to get the blood flow back in order Hope that helps Lr

Q:I am about to buy a high chair for my baby. Any recommendations as to brand, model, etc? What features do you think are most important to have? Thank you!: The high chair I have is the Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders. I like the fact that it can recline (that was handy when I just started my little guy on solids), the tray and the tray cover are easy to clean (there are no nooks and crannies for food to get stuck in), it has a toy that attaches to the tray with fun music (my son adores it) and it has two little toys that hang off the side (I like the fact that they hang off the side so they don't distract baby while he's eating). The seat cover is a vinyl/plastic material so its easy to clean (I haven't put in the washing machine yet though). It is bulky but most high chairs are. Plus, I got it on a huge discount!!

I would not worry about the chair rail, and focus on other areas that give you more bang for your buck. Look at your landscaping, exterior, lighting, etc.
