Tips:

1. Before using the generator, please read the instructions carefully;

2. When using the new generator, please add proper amount of four-stroke motorcycle oil (the diesel generator uses diesel engine oil above CD level) before starting;

3. Please use the generator in a well-ventilated environment to avoid harmful gas poisoning;

4. No fuel should be added when the generator is running, please stop and cool for more than 3 minutes before injecting fuel.

Q: avr is automatic voltage regulator for power generators
If you mean the build-in pcb of a fuel/diesel generator which build-up voltage initially and then keep it stable under any load, then read this: First you need to see your generator minimum requirements to determine specs of AVR. You will probably found a label on generator with those Information: Ex. volt (maximum excitation voltage) Ex. amp (maximum excitation amperage) Your AVR output must exceed those specs. If generator is brushless type in most cases it does. Also input voltage of AVR must be the same as output of generator (ex. 110V110V, 220V220V). If generator is triple phase then you can do the same (ex. 380V380V, 440V440V) but if generator have output in star formation then you can use node for a smaller voltage of AVR (ex. 380V220V, 440V253V). If generator work in parallel operation (usually marine main generators does) then things get complicated. In this case AVR is good to support current transformer to make generator more elastic under load fluctuations and match other generators in the same circuit.
Q: hi i covered diesel motor with sheet metal and a guard needs to protect a person from accident.etchere is some info abt cover: it is ventilated. the box mounted securely over the motor. it has exposed belts it combustion(diesel engine) and it is located in cerro alto , guattemala, the voltage is 120v and its 12 hp and it is driving a corn grinding machine and its indoor.so help me plz thanks
Diesel exhaust can eliminate the oxygen in a room. Be sure the exhaust system doesn't leak into the room. Where is the intake coming from? Is there a separate duct for intake air or does the engine take air from the room. The exhaust pipe will be hot, and needs people protection. Exposed belts should have a guard so nothing can accidentally be caught or jammed into them. Is the cooling fan guarded or protected? Can the shut down switch/lever be quickly and easily operated. Is the fuel tank separate from the engine? Is there a fuel shutoff valve? Just some things to consider.
Q: i mean from off state to ON State,the amount of diesel it reqiures to burn out.
the injection systems only variable is for the control of rpms during operation. during the start up process rpms are less than operation. yet the system delivers the same amount of fuel as the lowest setting. the fuel system, much like any other machine, is a constant. feed rate and pipe i.d. do not change magically. to throw in more fuel than the cyclinder can take would be destructive. variances can occur during hard starting situations (cold climates). this is the same as the choke on a car. diesels do not have this as they employ whats known as glow plugs which are essentially little plugs inside the cyclinders that preheat the chambers making it easier to start. since locomotives do not use this technique, this is why you will see them idling when not being used in a cold environment. in essence, its a royal b***h to start one when cold. never the less, to accurately know the fuel consumption rate (gph) at start up, you will have to contact the manufacturer to see if these figures are available. highly unlikely they would have these figures as opposed to actual operational gph which is where the do their testing.
Q: I am currently looking for a gas powered generator that I will need to run for 24 hours a day. Which ones would be most reliable for me? Also not trying to spend a ton of money.
Any generator that is suitable for continuous operation will seem very pricey. If you pretend that each dollar weighs a pound, such a generator will cost a lot more than a ton of money. It will also run on either diesel or natural gas, not gasoline. Contact Generac, Caterpillar, and other generator manufacturers for information.
Q: I want to place a quiete genarator which is about 7kva. Will it disturb people in my apartment? We usually make a lot noise in the building. But doesn't sound a lot also?
It sounds like a really bad idea. Not just noise-wise, but storing petrol or diesel in your apartment is a significant fire risk and possibly breach of your tenancy/lease agreement or giving an insurance company a let-out in the event of fire. Are you sure you don't mean 700va ? this is about the smallest, quietest generator.
Q: How to shut off the diesel generator
If you press the red emergency stop button, you must return to the original position, otherwise the generator will not be able to start.
Q: I have bought an ex hire Pike trafic signal trailer which contains a diesel generator. it looks very similar to this (
It's difficult to guess at exact ratings based solely on a picture. Check the generator housing for its specification plate. You can sometimes ballpark a rating based on the engine size. For each horsepower the system should be capable of producing approximately 500 watts. A 8HP engine is usually connected to a 4000 watt generator, 10HP for 5000W, 14HP for 7000W, etc. Many generators have two coils to supply AC output. For 120VAC output only the two coils are placed in parallel. For 120/240VAC the coils are wired in series and mid connection becomes the neutral. If the generator is presently capable of supplying 1kW, changing the output to supply 240VAC will still supply a maximum of 1kW. The maximum each output coil will supply at 120VAC is 500W. You need to separate the two output coils and wire them in series. Install a proper 240VAC outlet on the generator. The circuit breaker should be reduced to half of its present current rating. Read through my home generator page for other ideas.
Q: I understand that it powers your stuff. But how does it get power? How long can it run before losing it's power? Please no physics, just a simple answer. Thanks!
If you know how a motor turns then in its simplest terms, a generator is a backwards motor. Electricity powers the motor. In a generator an engine turns the motor producing electricity. Its about passing wires through magnetic fields and such.
Q: Can u plz help me to solve following problems:1.After an AC generator has been paralleled explain how the following are achieved for the incoming generator(i)Correct kW load sharing(ii)Correct load current when the generator has a different power factor to the other generators2. the cumulative damage that may be caused when the alternators are incorrectly synchronized3.For alternators operating in parallel the consequences of:(i)reduced torque from the prime mover of one machine(ii)reduced excitation on one machine
1. (i). Each engine should carry the SAME LOAD PERCENTAGE-wise, eg. 80%, to minimize the load change burden on the rest. (Smaller engines may run at full load, since their contribution may go unnoticed.) Since the overall kW bus load is constant, each generator will pickup a percentage of it, by controlling the torque on each prime mover. If it is a steam turbine, by throttling steam flow. If it is a diesel engine, by throttling fuel, and so. (ii). Each alternator should be adjusted to carry the SAME POWER FACTOR, by adjusting excitation accordingly, eg, .85, to avoid stability issues. Running alternators at leading power factors may turn the system unstable and force loss of synchronism 2. Considerable mechanical damage will be caused by incorrect synchronization to windings, shaft and keyways. 3. (i) reducing torque on one a prime mover is done when preparing to take it out of service. This has to be done gradually, so that other machines can pickup the load slowly. When close to unloaded, the generator can be taken off the grid. Power should never be reduced to the point of allowing the generator to be motored, i.e., reverse power flow, which can cause unpredictable damage to the turbine and system instability. (ii) reduced excitation is a very dangerous condition which will cause the power factor to turn leading, i.e., capacitive, weakening the synchronizing torque with possible loss of synchronism and forcing the bus voltage up. .
Q: 1. are backup generators constantly running, so when the lights go out to the people inside it seems like they have not?2. what do they run off?
Back up generators are kept as stand bye.In hospitals and other important places they take start immediately when voltage drops in the main. They Run with petrol or diesel oil or other fuels/
