- I did automotive upholstery for over 20 years, including leather, and I can tell you there is no easy, effective repair for damaged leather. I have tried every brand of repair kit and home remedy I could find over the years, and none of them worked well. Some of them improved the appearance of the leather a little bit but most of them did nothing or caused more damage. You can remove the leather from the sofa and have it redyed by a professional, but the cost of tearing down the sofa, having it redyed, and then recovering the sofa is usually more expensive than a new sofa. If it is on a cushion or skirt or some other easily removable piece then this solution is cost effective. But be warned, the new leather will be close in color but will not match the rest of the sofa no matter how good the dyer is. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If you do find something that works then please inform every upholstery shop in your area. They are looking too.

- The football pump is higher pressure (relatively) and lower volume than what you need for your little sofa. A football requires 9 or 10 psi while I would guess you need 3 or 4 psi in the sofa. Plus the needle likely will not fit the fill holes in the sofa. A larger volume pump such as used to inflate rubber boats or camp gear would be faster and easier, and they come with a variety of different sized nozzles.
