- Q: Alright building a computer for a client of mine and the tower has a front USB panel for easy convenience. The front panel has 3 separate cables. 2 of them are 4 pin USB internal cables and the other is a simple ground pin connector.
- Hi, I haven't seen what you're describing before either, just so you know you're not going mad! But just as a thought, it looks as if the two 4-pin connectors would fit nicely into a standard 9-pin internal connector, and supposedly the single ground connector would fit on the spare pin. It would be wise to look at a regular 9-pin USB plug to see which way round they go, etc., but I'm sure this would work fine. P.S. Ing. Luis M - that isn't an answer mate, no help whatsoever.
- Q: Anyone know of a good website where I can get good quality RCA terminals that can be soldered or screwed onto heavy-gauge speaker wire? I found some cheap ones at Radio Shack and was disappointed with the quality - and they were only able to be used with very thin-gauge wire.

- Q: Does anyone know where I can get an 80Pin SCSI Male Connector (External)?
- SCSI is a very diverse common, and has to run off a SCSI interface card which might could desire to be plugged right into a PCI or PCIe slot. you could no longer use adapters to get it to artwork on your motherboard SATA or IDE connectors.
- Q: I have a Sony KV-24FS100 and the place where you plug the antennae RF in is broken. My tuner is 100% good and I am happy with my TVs performance, so I don't want to replace the tuner or the TV. Everything else is in perfect condition except the place where you plug the RF in. Is there any way I can fix it? The place where there were threads is gone, all that's left is a small circular tube, the size of the connector thing that's a little behind where the thing used to be. If you can, please, at least tell what its called. Your help, would be very very appreciated. Thank You.
- It's called a Type F connector. The one on the TV would be a panel mount female Type F connector. The parts are inexpensive. Replacing it will take a bit of soldering. If you don't have any experience with that, you should probably take it to a shop.
- Q: From a home stereo receiver there is a sub woofer output what kind of cord/connector is this?
- mite be low frequency output
- Q: HelloI've just replaced the power supply in my Gateway (420GR) due to a bad fan in the otherwise working old supply. With the new supply, the fans only spin-on (all case, cpu, and ps fans) only when the P4 connector is not attached. (the keyboard lights go on for a second as on reboot but then the mouse and keyboard show no life) When the P4 connector is attached, the fans begin to spin (for a very small moment) and then stop. In neither case does the system seem to boot. This behavior is experienced with both the new power supply and the ond supply, but only after the old supply was re-installed. Before the supply upgrade, there were no issues with the system.Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause of this issue?
- Three possibilities come to mind. 1. It sounds like it could be a cabling issue. Either something's not plugged in that should be, or something is plugged in that shouldn't be. Don't know that motherboard or what types those power supplies are so I don't know what should or shouldn't be plugged in. I do know that my Intel board had two different ways it could be setup depending on whether you were using a PSU with a 24-pin motherboard connector or a 20-pin connector. 2. Something came loose while removing the old PSU. Check to make sure that everything from the video card to the CPU is properly connected/seated. 3. Worst case scenerio, when you removed the old PSU something happened to damage the system. (For example, did you unplug the computer from the wall and wait a minute before starting to unplug stuff? Did you use a grounding strap? Did you get a static electric shock at any time while working on the system?) Maybe, just maybe, the CPU's fried? If you can't fix it yourself, I'd recommend taking it in to a computer repair shop and have them examine it. Edit: Or try the above response 'cause he sounds like he knows a lot more about it then me.
- Q: does a cord like that even exist? is so where can i buy one?
- no, since there is no such thing as a 4 pin pci-e connector :/ They have 2x 4 pin molex to 1 6pin pci-e adapters though. EDIT: that is a 4 pin cpu connector. Its supposed to attach to the motherboard near the cpu. If you have a psu that support an 8pin cpu (some require 8pins or 2x4pin, others require just the 4 pin) Anyway, using that to your graphics card will melt the wire and catch on fire. As the graphics card will be pulling the current from only 2 wires instead of 4. (in a 4pin there is 2 12V 2 ground, a 6pin is 4 12v 2 ground, and an 8 pin is 4 12v 4 ground). A molex is the more flat 4 pin connector (molex is a brand of cable manufacturer, but its name caught on like people calling tissues kleenex). There are those 4 pin molex connectors to 6pin pcie connectors for sale. a 4 pin molex also has 2 12V and 2 ground wires. Which is why you NEED to have 2 molexs, otherwise you will catch the wire on fire from too much current draw. Now if you were talking about your cpu power connector (your psu only comes with a single 4 pin, and your cpu needs an 8 pin), then you can buy a molex -6 pin adapter and use that. (its kind of confusing since your question says pci-e not cpu power connector :P) Use the one and connect 2 yellow and 2 black wires (if you connect all 4 yellow wires, you will fry your cpu and motherboard lol). so have 2 yellow cables hand off the edge, and connect 2 yellow and 2 black wires to one 4 pin cpu connector. Then use the actual 4 pin cpu power connector in the other side.
- Q: I bought Nintendo's Wi-Fi USB connector on Tuesday, hooked it up, worked great, I was sending messages to my friends and all. Wednesday night the wii stopped responding to it, so I uninstalled, reinstalled, went through A LOT of internet connection sharing issues, and now I've finally got the software to reinstall right but the wii is not responding to the registration tool.It says to grant the wii permission to connect through the Wi-Fi connection tool. I have done this, and the wii doesn't respond to it.Note: this isn't the first time installing it. it worked fine on tuesday :#92;Does anyone have a fix for me? :(
- I've not used the USB connector, but it is supposed to be significantly simpler than a wifi router. Go to the Wii internet settings. Try creating a new wireless connection and select the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector and see if it finds it. This is is what you've done in the past, correct? Either the Wii will give you an error or the program running in the computer will. btw - you're not running Vista, are you? Nintendo notes that the USB connector won't work on Vista. Also, because this is Wi-Fi, line of sight has nothing to do with this at all.
- Q: I purchased a HD6870 and it came in the post a couple of days ago and I'm bursting to have a go on it, however I only have one 6 pin adapter and I will have to get another off OKorder, so I wandering if this would work or would I fry my motherboard? my power supply is 500 watts and I have a 4 pin and I think a big 16 pin plugged into it if that helps, thanks in advance. (Please only answer if you know what you are doing.
- u need 2 6pin connectoryour card won't even run if u connected only single connectormake sure your psu is from trusted brand or else u surely fry everythng :D
- Q: I have an Asus Revenge III motherboard with only one USB 2.0 connection but my case has two sets of USB 2.0 cables so I can only connect one side of the front USB ports. Is there a y-splitter available to connect the two cables from the case into one connector allowing me to use all my USB 2.0 ports with the one connection on my motherboard? Also I have a couple of front USB 3.0 connectors on my case but the motherboard doesn't have an internal connector for USB 3.0, just USB 3.0 on the back. Is there a way to connect these to the USB 3.0 without having to buy another USB 3.0 controller card in order to have an internal USB 3.0 connection?
- Wow - It sounds like this case motherboard don't really match well. USB - any version cannot be effectively split with a Y or similar stuff. You can use extension cables (as short as possible), powered extensions, and hubs (passive or powered). Inside the case, not practical. You have one internal connector. If you try to connect more than one device, you need a hub ( or a new internal card) to manage multiple devices. If you have an external USB 3.0 port that works, attached to the MoBo - but it faces the back. you -might- be able to hack together a wire adapter that connects that to the front connector on your case. Again- 1-to-1, but I wouldn't try it myself unless I was ready to deal with a fried circuit. If you really want to get the best use out of these, either get an external hub/s, or add internal card/s. There are mixed USB 2.0+3.0 hubs available. That would need to plug into the single USB 3.0 jack you have.
