- Q:Hi there,i have been using a barbell bench press for my decline press and nearly every gym session i seem to stack the weights up and up. however when i use the smith machine for flat bench press it seems that it takes me a very long time to gain more weight.Which machine will get me better results and weight gains?ThanksP.S Is there any difference between the way the two machines work the chest?(The smith machine is a machine and barbell bench press is free hand)
- Always, ALWAYS go regular free weight bench press. Free weights are the most effective because the movements are not controlled...they are not as safe as machines per se, but what's a spotter for eh? I bench 185lbs (barbell) right now. If I were to use a Smith machine, I could probably do 225lbs due to the extra support. Decline bench pressing seems to be easier than incline for some reason. My favorite has and always will be the regular flat bench press, but I do understand what you mean by decline feeling easy. The standard, flat bench press is the #1 upper body exercise though.
- Q:How many times has Her Majesty had to issue gag orders to the press since taking the throne?
- In theory she can. She IS the Queen, after all, and thanks to the unwritten nature of the British Constitution, she can do anything that isn't specifically prohibited - and this isn't. But she never has done so - the fact that she had done so would be reported in the press and bring her even more bad publicity than just letting the story go ahead anyway. The British government occasionally issues DA Notices (Defence Advisory Notices) to the press requesting them not to report certain matters relating to national security. But even those are only requests, not gagging orders. It would just be wrong to make it a criminal offence to report these matters and the public outrage first steps towards a dictatorship and all that would be possibly even more damaging. Nevertheless the British press is basically responsible and always complies because it knows the damage that would result to itself and the country if it didn't. If nothing else, a press organisation or newspaper that didn't comply would quickly find itself disrespected, bankrupt and out of business. As with so many things British, so much is unwritten but we know how to play the game - and that's why so much remains unwritten. It doesn't need to be.

- Believe it or not, you are using different sets of muscles. This can be supported by a Health Instructor and doing both exercises you will end up with a WOW body! Can't wait to see the new you!

- Press a charge, press charges, means to sign a complaint so the individual can be arrested.
- Q:I know it makes coffee, but if I went for a French Press as a replacement for buying an espresso maker could it do the same thing?
- No, though the French press will make excellent brewed coffee, nothing is like an espresso maker. My preference is for a real one that accepts ground coffee, and eventually also soft coffee pods from any brand, not the Lavazza or Nespresso types that don't give you the choice. Ah, and of course, the best is to buy (roasted) coffee beans and to grind them yourself (using a coffee and/or spice grinder) I have a DéLonghi espresso maker, quite basic and not expensive (~80 $). Very convenient and great coffee! Enjoy!

- You can submit your press release for free to any publication or media outlet. They may or may not use them, but they will not charge. If they charge, then it is advertising, not PR.
- Q:I have been a Plate maker in offset printing for 5 years and ran a digital press for a year is this Flexo press hard to learn and understand? What does the assistant press man do on a Flexo graphic press? Any info would help. Thanks.
- Working on a Flexo is much like any other presses with the BIG difference that the material stretches and has to be compensate with a certain tolerance. Flexography uses fast-drying inks. I used to prepress for a labelling company and before outputting the films/plate, I needed to know how many teeth on the gear to compensate for the stretching. Otherwise, the finished product would be squished or over-stretched. By adjusting the gear ratio to the cylinder, the films are outputted giving the impressiion that they are stretched slightly. This is to allow the plastic on the press to fall back to normal once printed.
- Q:Since the mechanics are the same (except you can adjust the weight)? Also how much should I be able to bench press? I am a 15 year old, 150 pound, white teenager, so how much?
- It works ALMOST the same muscles. Pushups works the shoulders a little more than bench press. To increase strength or mass, bench press beats pushups hands down. Strength increases when you exert your muscle with near maximum effort for 8-12 sec. That amounts to 8-12 reps. With pushups, it is more about endurance, as you can do much more than 10-12 pushups (unless you put a plate on your back)

- That is a setting. I forget what it's called. But it can be turned off.
