Q: or the other way around?
neither You cannot tell anything by the ABEC number. It is a spec for vibration in machinery that runs at speeds thatwouldd be over 150 mph on your board. It became popular because the precision grade bearings that used to be used are anything except precision. ABEC 1 bearings were a hugeimprovementt and the marketing people love anything they can claim higher numbers on. Inline skates and boards use the same bearings. The top makers (Zero Drag, Twin Cam, Bones) actually design their best bearings that to not meet any ABEC standard so that they can have clearances that roll better, but frequently use the number 9 (sometimes saying equivalent to ABEC) in their lit so that those who are hooked on the larger number is better BS will not avoid a numberless bearing. What is better to you? Speed? Life? Resistance to rust when you are in the rain? Know your bearing makers and what they do really well. Bones is known for rolling really well but needing more maintenance and rusting really easily. Twin cam is known for being super resistant for wet. Zero Drag is not as well known but roll very fast and are reasonably resistant to moisture.
Q: do 98 ford windstars have front wheel bearings?
yes, located in the hub
Q: should i put a little grease inside the wheel so the bearings slide in easier? they really dont want to go in strait. should i lay the bearing in the hole and put the nut on and tighten the bearing into the wheel? Help....
Do not put grease, grease will wreak your bearings. The best thing to do is buy a skate tool that can help you insert them. If you dont want to do that simply put the bearing on the wheel (where it needs to go) and put the wheel on the truck with the bearing still on the wheel facing the truck. Then just simply push down on the wheel and the bearing will pop into place.
Q: About eight months ago, my girlfriend's front wheel bearings/hubs on her 1998 Chevrolet Malibu started making grinding noises. The mechanic said that it was the front hubs, so I had them replaced with aftermarket (read: cheap) ones and the noise was gone. A dealer OEM replacement and repair would have run me $650, but the aftermarket pieces only ran me $80/each, and labor was about $150 (iI think). Eight months later, or about last week, the hubs are grinding again.I am in Minnesota, so I was thinking that maybe it's partly due to the weather and the road conditions, but eight months, even for an aftermarket hub, just seems a bit ridiculous. If it were up to me, I'd sell the car and get another one, but it's my girlfriend's car, so it stays (and I'll wait for the repairs to keep piling up).The hubs took about 9,000 miles before going bad.

Q: Im looking for some really fast bearings. I don't use my board for tricks but mostly for speed. Can anyone tell me what are some very fast bearings?
bones reds unless u have alot of money to spend then u could get bones ceramics or swiss
Q: I am a Roller derby girl and so I am NOT interested in the type of bearings that are for in-line skate! Please tell me how I can tell if the bearings are good for speed or not!
I use Bones Swiss bearings and they have been very responsive and have made a big difference. If you want to know how fast a bearing is most have abec ratings, nine being the highest. However, as Bones Swiss are of better quality and faster than most bearings, they have omitted the abec rating. I highly reccommend the Bones Swiss bearings and if you want to get better than those, you get the ceramics. They are much more expensive though.
Q: i am a beginner skateboarder and i am going to buy a skateboard and debating whether to buy cheap trucks and bearings and save money or to spend more on a little bit higher quality ones. i am just a beginner so i dont know whether i would even tell the difference. if you think i should get better ones can you recommend any to me?
Ok so first off don't buy cheap made trucks or bearings, I've had cheap bearings there slow, get dirty fast, and all my abecs fell out. And I've never had problems with trucks but I've heard of them snap and alot of other bad things. Secondly, buying better quality will last you a butt ton longer. Some brands of trucks are: Independent,Thunder,Theeve,Tensor, and Venture. Some bearing brands:Bones,Shake Junt,Spitfire, and Shorty's. P.S. get Bones Reds bearing their cheap but last at least a year or better and their really fast. Hope this helped.
Q: Right now I'm riding on Element Skate Bearings and I tear them up real easily. I mostly ride street, so of course smaller wheels. What do you guys recommend?
Bones Labryinth, Or Ceramics. Highly expensive.
Q: okay my dad bought some stuff for my skatedboard berrings cuz they been goin kinda slow and im not sure if its good or not it cant attract dust so if anyone knows please help!
I think this stuff should be fine, though I don't know if it will help speed up your bearings. I've used WD40 on my bearings before and it didn't seem to hurt, so you should be okay to put this stuff on. I would also recommend that you check in with a local skate shop and ask what they would consider before you put it on just in case.
Q: There are loose ball bearings in the freewheel part of a mountain bike. Does anyone know how many go in there? I disassembled 2 mountain bikes to make an electric bike. Now i am putting one back together and i have 2 sets but i lost some from each set and it leaves me with no clue. These are the bearing underneath the shimano freewheel locking nut... the bearing are loose under there. Thank you!
