Q: My carpet is so stained, and gross. it has makeup, and coke,and nailpolish.I reallly want to get new carpet.how much would that cost?in a 11 by 12 foot room?: Ermmmm.. Why not rent a Rug Doctor and clean the one you have. No point getting a new one until you're mature and responsible enough not to spill makeup, Coke, and nail polish in your room.

Q: I recently threw up over a large area of my carpet. I have already removed the vomit but now I must remove the smell. I have used a mixture of vinegar,water,and soap, this seems to be working but I then used a pet odor remover to finish the job. I plan on vacuuming cleaning and adding the carpet foam and baking soda over the area. Should I do that? Do u guys have any suggestions to remove the vomit smell from the carpet? Thank you.: This carpet needs the attention of a professional carpet cleaner, some one who can treat the carpet and then hot water rinse and extract it. The carpet then can be treated with a deodorizer at that point. I do not recommend carpet foam or baking soda as these products are extremely hard, if not impossible to remove. Carpeting is a very expensive investment, it pays to do things right regarding cleaning and routine maintenance once and a while.

Q: I am renting this house and the carpet smells. I don't know why...it's not dog or cat urine or anything like that. Do the synthetic fibers the carpet are made out of or the cushion under the carpet cause this odor...it really builds up if you are out of the house for a day or two...and what can one do to fix this...shampooing didn't work: If you are renting the property I'd get in touch with the landlord and tell them about the smell. Your carpet pad may be dirty. There may also be dirt under your carpet pad. I'm pulling up my carpets and replacing them; they've been in the home for about 20 years and the amount of dirt underneath the carpet pad is astounding. Your water will probably never come up clear. My view on carpets is they're someting you walk on, so they may be a little dirty!
