As for the SATA...if it is a SATA hard drive, you'll want a SATA motherboard. Almost all modern motherboards have these connections. If yours doesn't, I'd imagine it's just old...or really cheap.

Q: on a 600 watt amp will it blow my amp?: You won't have a problem using a 1200 watt wiring kit power wire. Usually it says 4 gauge but it really be 6 gauge in a 4 gauge installation. There are only a few companies making real 4 gauge power wire, if you take a cheap brand 4 gauge wire and hold it with a more expensive brand wire you will see the difference! But to get back on track 4 gauge wire is the best wire to use on any install cause its not too big and not too small, just make sure you hook a fuse! Good luck!
