- mmmmm,I can only say what works for me. I use a dirt devil and also carry a small wet/dry vac,both are 3 years old.I have found the more expensive brands are not always the answer as mileage may vary. I have found there is an inherent cost of doing business,vacuums being a wearable tool.It does sound as if your on the way high end of costs.There is generally 2 reasons for premature failure.The first is of course bad/inappropriate product,the second being an operator issue. I understand what works for me may not work for you.I wish you luck in finding a more cost efficient system. My Best

- It is hard to be specific, but you might also say if you want a canister or upright. There are so many different models. One important factor is the noise. You need to decide if you or your neighbors can stand the noise. Bagless sounds good because it saves the cost of vacuum bags, but consider the mess of opening the machine and having all that dust fly around and scraping and tapping the filter. The Hoover self-propelled is the fastest that I have found, but it is really noisy and you have to use the control on the front of the machine to go from bare floor to carpet.

- I am sure there is a better vacuum for a lot less than he is asking. The salesman starts out at a high price and as you hesitate, he/ she will gradually lower the price. They work for the insane profit on the vacuum, but will come down in price to seal a deal.

- How could you not like sharks......They are the perfect predator.......Rows and rows of razor sharp teeth that continuously replenish themselves. What does that tell you? However, they scare the crap out of me.........Only because of their awesome advantage when in the ocean. However, sharks are not invincable, dolphins, and Orcas have been known to kill sharks. Other sharks also kill sharks.........that is wierd!!!!!! But, when you think about the shark they are an incredable creature......First they have no bones......their skeleton is made up of nothing more than cartilage, no air bladder as in fish.......they have to constantly keep swimming in order to not sink.........Think of you trying to stay in 10 feet of water for 2 days..........They also need to keep moving in order to breath..........Look at a sharks mouth........Nothing more to say there............ - Agreed. Owned one...switched to Rainbow. Cost is high on the Kirby, but it's rated at being best in its' category...for vacuuming. I didn't like how cumbersome it was to use, or having to empty bags. Rainbow has several attachments, too...but all the dirt goes into the water trap, and you just pour it out when finished. Egad...it's gross and great, all at the same time. Great for allergies, and there are air cleaner/fresheners included. As you clean, the Rainbow will scent or clean the air. Read more about it, and you might like it better than the Kirby. Either one will require fussing between attachments...but having had both, I'll never go back to Kirby. Carpet cleaner WAY much hassle. Better to rent a cleaner, as needed, than to take up space storing a unit you seldom use. Hope this helped. It's quite an investment.
