- I got to tell you these are the easiest things to repair and maintain. Go to the library they should have more then enough information. You'll need very little tools and some brushes. Grab a few from the trash and practice with them chances are you'll be able to fix them. They are all basically the same.

- I recently moved to a house that has hardwood floors with area rugs from a fully carpeted house. When my windtunnel stopped working I bought a canister vac with a container I empty when it gets full. I have 1 dog 2 cats so I dump it 2-3 times before I am done vacuming the whole house some furniture. The suction power is lacking alot compared to the bags. I really prefer the bags(in hind sight)

It's generally in the form of a scratch-off OR catalouge coupon... It's good on ALL the merch. in the store.. So, right off the bat you would SAVE and we also match price SEARS, BEST BUY etc.. not online... - You need the AMPS to determine the suction power the more AMPS they have the better suction power you'll get- but here is a very, very good vacuum to look into- It is a Bissel Powerforce Bagless Vacuum-my son bought his at Wal-mart and I use his all the time! It has 4 re-usable filters that you can rinse out and an attachment brush that has rotaion on it that I use on my bed and once after I had washed my bed spread it had those little lint pills all over it that I tried to shave off- well I tried this attachment and it took them off like it was nothing! I think he only paid like maybe $100 or less for his and it is now MY favorite vacuum!

- I've had my Kirby for 16yrs. It has never been re-built. Sure it's heavy and bulky but that's for a reason its a good vacuum. I don't know about the newer models but my G3 takes a licking and keeps on ticking.=)

- The answer to the question can change every month. Go to a vacuum repair shop that also sells new and ask them their recommendation, I did when I bought my Sharp 8 years ago and still love it.

- yeah until it cloggs up on you lol... ive gone through 5 vacuums in the last two years... i recommend shark brand, so far its lasted a year... but nothing helps more then brushi g the cat, if your cat doesnt like to be brushed you can make a cat brushing station for your cat to brush its self... all you need are two baby bottle cleaners from a 1$store and a pice of wood for the base, make sure its heavy enough not to fall over, you can look it up in detail on youtube
