- Q: Can anyone recommend an inexpensive vacuum for hardwood floors?
- For hardwood floors I wouldn't use a vacuum. Just use a regular broom and dustpan. Then mop your floors. I use Murphys oil cleaner that you mix with water and mop your hardwood floors. It works great.
- Q: How efficient are vacuum cleaners in preventing the dust and other dirt that they suck from escaping through the air outlet. I'm using a Khind branded wet and dry vaccum cleaner model VC 3661, priced about USD 60, manufactured in 2004. The type that is shaped like a bucket and has its air outlet facing upwards and a removable, washable cotton bag inside. I notice that it has only two layers (slices) of dark -colored Sponge like material when I remove the air outlet cover. Is that sufficient to prevent dust, dirt and most importantly bacteria from coming out form the cleaner itself. It could be releasing the bacteria and spreading it all over the place.
- The filters in any vacuum cleaner get CLOGGED after approx 15 min of cleaning, use a Rainbow this has a bowl of water that catches the dust, (wet dust does not fly about!!) after every cleaning you empty the water down the toilet, the next best one will be the Dyson.

- of course it does. it helps to remove hair from the couches, furniture and carpets... but it is not good to make your vacuum as a cat's cleaner. you should brush weekly your cat's furr to make your cat's beauty , safe, and healthy......
- Q: I am in desperate need of a new vacuum cleaner - I have just bought a vax after the sales lady recommended but am taking it back due to its poor performance its so noisy my neighbours hear me hoovering at the end of the street ! far too heavy and hardly picks up a thing !! I have had a dyson before which was fab but really cannot stretch to a new one far too pricy - perhaps i am always going to compare performance to this anyone know anything as good but not as expensive all opinions greatly appreciated
- Get a Dyson. They are the best vaccume cleaners iv'e ever seen. i have one. i've had it for 4 years and it still sucks things up great. it's not all that noisy, and it gets the job done and then some. they are kind of expensive,but it is defiently worth it. I HIGHLY RECOMEND GETTING ONE!
- Q: Can anyone please help me! I am soooo serious here...I have purchased two vacuum cleaners and they both SUCK. Bissel allergy one with the canister that you empty...It does not vacuum well at all, I can pick up stuff off the carpets better that the that. And then I bought a eureka vacuum from costco, not only is it hard to push, 4 months the screw came off the handle and is in the vaccum itself.....It is supposed to be industrial, and it is with a bag....and NEVER ever have I seen such scrap....I have new carpets so that is not the problem here...I also have pets....I do not want a tyson 3000 or whatever they are called...although they say they are good, and after what I have spent in these 2 vacuums I should have bought the tyson...So any suggestions or what you like would be appreciated...I am just fed up with picking up JUNK :PThanks you all..
- i bought a new vacuum when i had new carpets put in my house right after we bought it. with a 4 year old and a 1 year old and 2 indoor cats we needed something good with good filters. we bought a eureka boss smart vac. it was $130.00 and we bought a 2 year extended warranty. i have had it now for almost 2 years. it is a great vacuum. it is dark red. it uses bags, i get the filter bags. they cost more but they extend the life of the hepa filter. for hepa filter replacements i get the arm and harmer eureka filters. it really helps with odors. it works great on our light tan carpet, kitchen tile floors and bathroom tile. i even use the hose to clean my ceiling fans. any way here is the model #4870 type GZ.
- Q: I am slow to put my sweaters away for the summer and out of the way of moths. It's possible a moth already found them and layed her eggs on them. I shook them all outside carefully, have placed them in a zipper bag and will add some mothballs. Will that kill the eggs that might be in there???P.S. I am not going to wash them all because some were washed and others are not soiled.
- get some moth balls and put them inn the cupboard with them, you just have to be careful with that sort of thing. you dont want a load of bugs eating all your clothes.
- Q: My dog sheds year round, but even more so in the summertime. I've gone through several vacuum cleaners that work at first, then stop altogether. I dismantle the hose and clean out the hairs if they clog but I can't get adequate. What could be wrong? Can you recommend a vac that really picks up pet hair effectively?
- I gotta love my Dyson! It is SO easy to see clogs in the clear hose. Any part that curves has a quick detach to check. It sucks great and picks the hair up no problem. No bags to buy and it really does not loose suction. I have had mine for six years now and am just as happy today as I was when I bought it.
