- neither You cannot tell anything by the ABEC number. It is a spec for vibration in machinery that runs at speeds thatwouldd be over 150 mph on your board. It became popular because the precision grade bearings that used to be used are anything except precision. ABEC 1 bearings were a hugeimprovementt and the marketing people love anything they can claim higher numbers on. Inline skates and boards use the same bearings. The top makers (Zero Drag, Twin Cam, Bones) actually design their best bearings that to not meet any ABEC standard so that they can have clearances that roll better, but frequently use the number 9 (sometimes saying equivalent to ABEC) in their lit so that those who are hooked on the larger number is better BS will not avoid a numberless bearing. What is better to you? Speed? Life? Resistance to rust when you are in the rain? Know your bearing makers and what they do really well. Bones is known for rolling really well but needing more maintenance and rusting really easily. Twin cam is known for being super resistant for wet. Zero Drag is not as well known but roll very fast and are reasonably resistant to moisture.

- The crankshaft turns in bearings. To replace them you have to disassemble the engine. If the crankshaft is worn a machine shop might have to grind it for undersized bearings.

- No they are sealed bearings.If you have a bearing noise the most simple way is to buy a hub/bearing assy.NAPA can get them alot of the time when you got a noise up there its not the bearing,its the axel/C.V. joint.If the boot is ripped open it prabably needs a axel.The bearings don't fail nearly as often as the axels.
- Q: My Escape started making a noise at about 35,000 miles. At the time the dealership said it was the tires. I replaced the tires. The noise did not change at all and now has progressively worsened and now they are telling me the right, left AND center wheel bearings need to be replaced (at my expense since now the car has 42,000 miles). They did say the bearings are still sealed and there is no water damage and no other obvious damage. I think they must be defective and Ford should replace them as from what I understand it would be very unlikely for all 3 to just go out at 35,000 miles. I'd like to know if Ford has addressed this problem for anyone else and also if anyone has any ideas on how to make Ford provide the parts and repairs at no cost to me.

- Q: OK, so i got 91% isopropyl alcohol( i thinks that's rubbing alcohol) and bones speed cream. i just get a gatorade bottle and put the alcohol in it. drop the bearings and shake it around for about 5 minutes. clean them out. here whats i need help for. i have ABEC Lucky 7, do i need to take that little ring around it before i clean them? and i have bones speed cream, it says ts exclusive for bones bearings only. can i use it? zumiez doesn't got any other ones. does Maui nix? and is the stuff i do to clean it good? Long question. askin all skaters and whoever knows how to clean them for cheap.and good.

- true bearing is a navigational angle. it is oriented such that 000 is at due north, and it increases clockwise. a mathematical angle is oriented so that 0 is at due east and it increase counter-clockwise. as a result, the relationship between the true bearing and a mathematical angle is A1 = 90 degrees - A2 where if A1 is the navigational angle, then A2 must be the mathematical angle, or if A1 is the mathematical angle, then A2 must be the navigational angle. That's why bearing 157 degrees = 90 - 157 = -67 degrees = -67+360 = 293 degrees and bearing 213 degrees = 90 - 213 = -117 deg = -117+360 = 237 degrees === so as long as you convert bearings into mathematical angles, then you can resolve vectors into (x,y) coordinates using the standard transformation x = r cos(t) y = r sin(t) where r is the magnitude of the vector and t is the mathematical angle. otherwise,you have to use x = r cos(90-t) = r sin(t) y = r sin(90-t) = r cos(t) where t is the bearing

- No. Oil doesn't clean, it just lubricates. Hair clipper oil will work for the lubrication part. It's usually just mineral oil. It evaporated faster than normal bearing oil, but it won't hurt anything. You will just have to lube the bearings more often. You need a solvent to clean bearings. Denatured alcohol is good, and so is carb cleaner.
- Q: I was driving my 98 civic ex automatic around a corner, hit an icy patch and slid up on to the curb. (impact was on the passenger front tire) After the curb incident my left front end bounced up and down and when I would speed up the wheel started to shake back and forth.I drove home slowly and parked it and I am unsure wheat to do. The tire is not flat and it looks like two of the 4-lugs are sticking out further than the other two(?)...Does this sound like a case of broken ball bearings??If so, are they expensive/hard to fix??And, how long will this take at a shop??
