Needle Roller Bearings (needle bearing) is a cylindrical roller with roller

- Q: I'm getting some ABEC 5 bearings, but I don't know if I need them sealed or shielded. Right now I'm a beginner so I'm just cruising with the occasional hill if that makes a difference in what I need.
- Get ones with removable shields. If the bearings are sealed, you can't clean or lube them, so you throw them out and get new ones.
- Q: ive been skateboardoing for about 1 year and my wheels are kinds slow so i would be pleased if you teach me how to clean bearings ty!
- NEVER use WD-40! EVER. moving on. if you can remove the bearing shield (the little rubber/metal covering on the outside of the bearing), do so. then get a small tub/bucket of soapy water and clean the shields. for the actual bearings, i'd get the Bones bearing cleaning kit. it has a bottle with a shaft on the cap so you can put the bearings on without touching each other, it's only like $5 bucks. if not, just get some sort of bottle with a semi-large opening and put them in without the shields on. what you put in is very important. i use isopropyl rubbing alcohol, but i think you can use anything that's not citrus or water? based. swish them around and change the fluid until there is no more black residue coming out. dry them out with a blast of compressed air. then put in your silicone lube. NOT WD-40. only about 2 drops/bearing. i use Bones speed cream. put the shield back on and put them back in!
- Q: My two front wheels on my skateboard randomly lock up. You know how you're suppose to leave a little wiggle room when you tighten the nut? Well after a few minutes of skating the wiggle room is gone and it's like I tightened down my bolt all the way. There's nothing wrong with my nut and my bearings are bones swiss and my wheels are bones stf 54mm. This is so strange. I've even rotated the wheels and bearings out from back to front and once again it's my front two wheels. It's beyond me. Please help!
- If you aren't using speed ring, use them. Replace axle nuts. Could be bearing migration from excess bearing lube. Remove bearings and wipe outer race with denatured alcohol. Wash the wheels with dish soap and water. Make sure to wash the bearing seats. Dry before placing the bearings back in. If it happens only on one side but not the other, it's axle slip. Send trucks back to manufacturer.
- Q: I am a Roller derby girl and so I am NOT interested in the type of bearings that are for in-line skate! Please tell me how I can tell if the bearings are good for speed or not!
- I use Bones Swiss bearings and they have been very responsive and have made a big difference. If you want to know how fast a bearing is most have abec ratings, nine being the highest. However, as Bones Swiss are of better quality and faster than most bearings, they have omitted the abec rating. I highly reccommend the Bones Swiss bearings and if you want to get better than those, you get the ceramics. They are much more expensive though.
- Q: This is a technical question depending small losses for example in clean room applications (every particle matters...)
- I assume you have tried shielded bearings, where the grease is contained inside covers that prevent its loss? Or possibly you do not have the funds to replace the bearings? Etc. I do not know the size of your pump/motor or whatever the bearing is on. I will tell you I have seen in an industrial setting on what I would call a small pump, they actually put a bag around the bearing housing to catch grease. Of course, the shaft ended at the housing so the bag did not have to come in contact with the rotating assembly. You could probably get more useful answers if you re-ask your question describing the size and physical configuration of the bearings and their housing.
- Q: Slight play is felt both front wheels with wheels off the ground. 99 Buick Park Avenue.
- There should be no play in either the bearings or the tie rods. Grab the wheel at 3 and 9 oclock shake side to side, that is usually tie rods, if it's at 12 and 6 then it's the bearings.
- Q: Can I put it on skateboard bearings?
- You can Just make sure it is high temp grease. I didnt see where it was for a skateboard. I think it was added after I answered the question. I was thinking it was for A hub bearing on an automobile.

- shop up and get the bones swiss originals or micro yet while your merely going to be skating and thrashing merely purchase some low-fee bearings. i exploit quickly bearings for my long quickly boards and junky bearings for the skate park and highway
