- They are probably 1/4 or 5/32 diameter balls, but the rest of your question leaves me wondering. The hubs that your bike has are quite OK for the grade of bike you have, and just replacing the bearings will have no effect- or if anything a negative effect- on the operation of the hub. Keep in mind that the bearings run on cups pressed into the hub and on cones that are threaded onto the axle, so replacing bearings on a new bike without upgrading these items is useless. By the way, my guess is that the cups and cones can't be upgraded. I suggest that you leave what seems to be a brand new bike alone and stop trying to improve on something that doesn't need it. If you have some problems, see you dealer and explain it to them- chances are any adjustments will be free (or cheap).

- Trucks are the metal axles and plates that mount to the board. They come in different sizes depending on what type of riding you plan on doing- the longer the axle the less turning radius you'll have. Bearing are small discs that contain tiny metal ball (bearings) that allow you wheels to spin freely once they are mounted on the truck-there are 2 bearing rings for each wheel (inside outside) . These also come in all types and generally the more expensive the bearings the more spin/speed you'll get. Hardware merely refers to the bolts nuts that hold the trucks to the board. These also come in all sorts of lengths and brands, but really they are mostly all the same. and don't forget some of the most important gear for a noob will be protective gear, helmet pads etc. Have Fun !

- wheel bearings on that truck are sealed.....When they go bad, you replace the bearing/hub as an assembly.....They should last at least 100,000 miles if truck is not treated roughly....I owned a 2000 Silverado that had 146,000 miles on it when I traded it in....and still had the original wheel bearings on it and they were still in good shape.

- buying new bearings will be the best option. Giving it some oil would be a temporary fix, but later on you will find it does not help anymore. Get some new ones and you will be gliding ..
- Q: My buddy bearing popped out. I think grease got all over the wheel. How do I clean the wheel and repack the beaing with grease once I put on the new buddy bearing.
- Easy-simply stick the buddy back and pump it full Hard-spin your tire with it in the air, if it sounds rough ( may be if you ran it on the road dry ) this i what you need to do to.. with that wheel jacked up take the cotter pin/hub nut off. Pull on the hub til the hub, inner/outer bearings, seal come off the spindle. Take the old bearings to a trailer parts place and get new bearings ( 10$ ). Get some bearing grease from walmart and with a latex glove on work the grease into the bearings reassemble the hub in reverse order and you ought to be god to go. Its fairly easy; I have done it on the side of the highway in 5 minutes. If you ran the trailer and the bearings ran dry youd want to replace them or you can end up on the side of the highway lookin for where your wheel went. As for cleaning the rim, good ol soap and water works fine.

- Q: I have a 1996 saturn sc1 and the rod bearings are gone in the motor. I'm i better off taking the chance and replacing them or buying another motor, because i was told that if the rod bearing are gone, 9 chances out of 10 the cylinder walls are gone as well. Is this a true fact?
- Being that the rod bearings are gone, probably would be best to change the main bearings also while you're in the bottom end of the engine. Usually when the rods and mains go, you start to loose oil press. and begin to have other problems such as the rings. Do a compression check on cylinders to determine if you have a problem with the rings/pistons.
