- WD40! Get a can and a small dish / bowl... Fill the bowl up 3/4 full with this WD40 and let the bearing soak in it over night. The next morning you can pull them out and wipe them down... Finally just grease the bearings and put them back in.

- are you sure only the rod bearings are affected and no damage to crank pin ? remove the oil pan and work under the engine. when you remove the oil pan you can have access to connecting rods, you just unbolt the rod cap and replace the bearings then re-torque back the cap's bolts. you may turn the crankshaft while working around on each rod..

- Q: OK, so i got 91% isopropyl alcohol( i thinks that's rubbing alcohol) and bones speed cream. i just get a gatorade bottle and put the alcohol in it. drop the bearings and shake it around for about 5 minutes. clean them out. here whats i need help for. i have ABEC Lucky 7, do i need to take that little ring around it before i clean them? and i have bones speed cream, it says ts exclusive for bones bearings only. can i use it? zumiez doesn't got any other ones. does Maui nix? and is the stuff i do to clean it good? Long question. askin all skaters and whoever knows how to clean them for cheap.and good.
- Back when i used to skate (about 2 years ago) i would usually take my bearings out and drop it into a mix of 91% alcohol and water. I say maybe 80% alcohol and 20% water into a bottle and shake for awhile. Then take them out, dry and spray some WD40, worked like a charm. I also heard you can drop them in a bottle of HOT water and just leave it in there... i know it works for cleaning out my bongs and bowls, but iono about bearings. If all else fails, try to go down to a local active ride shop and see if they have any sales. :p

- is almost the same, the only diff is how the wheel is opened up,,, i believe they seal the bearings so you will haft to press them out i think,, if not then then its the same,,, ive only came across 2 types of 4wheelers that had to do that,, they were polarius models that floated on the water,,, now lookin at yours its the same as a car,,, after removing the wheel you take off the spindle ( for a car its called a rotor) then pick out the bearing clean out the grease add new grease, and pack the bearings with grease befor you put it in,, the more grease the better lol
- Q: what kind of bearings do i need for a1976 honda cb750?
- Phillip missed it on several points. The crankshaft main bearings and con rod big ends are replaceable plain bearings, small end rod are non-replacable plain with full floating wrist pin, camshaft plain, tranny shafts are caged ball bearings, steering head are loose balls (really cheap crap), swing arm pivot are plastic bushings (really, really cheap crap) and the wheel bearings are caged balls. You should be able to replace the steering head and swing arm with tapered roller bearings, which will really improve handling.
- Q: Sup guys, first new thread. Anyways,i have a 2004 Honda 400ex. I noticed the other day that when i get on it and rock from side to side (stationary with engine off) the axle stays still but the rest of the quad moves and clicks sort of. It moves up and down, but not very much from side to side. Probably 1/16 side to side. And about 1/4 to 1/2 up and down. I tried tightening the jam nut or whatever its called (the left hand thread. I dont know as tht i tightened it right). But that did nothing. My rotor also moves front and. Back. I was told i need carrier bearings. I hope not because its wednesday and i have. Planned riding trip this weekend. If it is bearings, can i just tighten the nut and ride, then replace it?
- it sounds like carrier bearings. keep your chain adjusted slightly tighter than usual. you can run it some with it that way. stay out of the mud! if you're going for a looong trail ride, you should replace them. also know that if you let them go too long it gets real expensive when you eat into that carrier housing!!! i've ridden many miles on bad bearings, you just have to watch them close and run a bit easier than normal. if at all possible change them before your ride, other wise go easy, have fun!!
