Q: are Tensor Oust Moc 7 Bearings, Abec 9 Tolerance good skateboarding bearings?
Never used the Tensor bearings, or Destructo ones either. For the same money, you can get Pig Swiss. I use them in all my setups and have had very good luck. Bones Swiss are a little less money and almost as good as the Pig. If you want to save even more money and have very good quality, go with Bones Reds. They are a very good bearing for the money.
Q: I have replaced the wheel bearings twice in 3 months now its going bad again....i didnt change the hub.Should i have done so.it looked a little grinded up on the inside.
you shld replace the hub as well.Proper adjustment on bearing clearance and sufficient grease is important.
Q: what will happen?....will they go faster?
no they wont they will be well oiled that's all and it wont stick to them long it's to thin
Q: i want the best of the best, i want to get bones red bearings, but i want to know what the best trucks and wheels would be??? please help.
If you want the best of the best, don't be shy of spendin' a little paper buddy. Bearings: Bones Swiss Ceramics Price: $140 for a set of 8 Description: WAAAYYYY too pricey for me (or anyone in fact) but they are apparently the best bearings in the world. Can't you already tell by the price? Trucks really depend on what you skate (street, vert, etc.) but I'll recommend good street trucks Trucks: Independent Stage 10 Standard Forged Trucks Price: $33 for one; $66 for a set of 2 Description: Independent is like the Hollister of trucks. A name brand everyone's heard of. Great trucks but I skate grind king. Idk why I told you I just felt like it :P Wheels: Bones STF, SPF, or APF Price: $35 for a set of 4 Description: They're not the priciest wheels you can buy but you said you wanted the best, not the most expensive. I posted 3 models because each model has different formulas for preference. STF is for street skating, SPF is for skate park skating, and I think APF is for vert skaters but I'm not sure. Hope this helped, peace
Q: ^ also how should they sound when they roll and what should i use to lubricate my bones red bearings
no lube umm you cant tightin them? and the sound varys
Q: car has noise due to bad bearings
Take of the wheels, find wheel bearing.. replace wheel bearing. put tire back on..
Q: I had found out bones reds are one of the most best bearings for the money, and lots of mates have them so I bought some bones red's from Trademe (the New Zealand version of ebay) and they were real and all. as soon as I got them I rode them all around. but after about a week they were worse than my abec 3's. So I changed Back to them. While I was at the skate park People were saying that bones reds just need wearing into. so I cleaned them by soaking them in turps then putting speed cream on them. I have been skating heaps this month. but still not beta...???So any advice or help of what im doing wrong would be appreciated
Thats strange. I've had the same Bones bearings for years and they spin just as good as they ever did since the day i bought them. If it;s not to late I would say go back and exchange them or do like your friends said and try to break them in. But I can't imagine ever having to break in a good set of bearings...good luck
Q: I have a 1994 Lexus 300 GS. I have been told that My wheel bearings are bad.. I drove it anyway and one day I heard a pop and now my power steering is not working? I can start it and drive I just can't turn the wheel very well. I tried power steering fluid, and the belt is ok. Can it be the pump or just the wheel bearings or maybe both? I did not know if the wheel bearings had anything to do with the power steering?
the powersteering pump could be shot, and yes it does strain the steering pump with bad bearing due to side force at the spindle, start the car and take the cap off of the steering pump and look with a flash light to see if the fluid moves when turning the wheel(help to have someone else turn it but not too fast) if fluid is flowing you have a steering system problem that could kill you and others and get it towed to a shop or get someone who knows auto mechanical to fix it. there are many things that can effect the steering(cv axles/ball joints(struts)/power steering pump/rack and pinion(possible/means no steering at 55 when it goes completely)) too many things to show and or figure here. it is a task to do the wheels bearings and they can go so bad the wheel CAN fall off, and then the poop has hit the fan and possibly someone else, so if it was just someone who said the bearings was bad, get a more educated opinion. And if single marry a mechanic (it's cheaper lol)
Q: I have split the case, and removed the crankshaft and bearing seals. I want to replace the the crank Bearings. What is the best way to to get them out with out damaging the case? Also, when it is time to install the new crank do I need to use the Yamaha Installing pot tool? I can't find this tool anywhere.
Well Yamaha Service Manager 1980-90 is correct in most of what he says but he left some stuff out, sounds like he still gets his check from the dealer. Split your cases, more than likely the crank will stay in one side or the other. If this is the case that makes removing the bearings easier as the one on the crank you should be able to get off without to much strain. As for the bearing in the case, he is correct, heat it up, I suggest I propane style torch using Map Gas (it gets hotter). You will want to take the case that has the bearing in it and freeze it over night, also put your new bearings in the freezer as well. After the case is frozen, remove it from the freezer and heat up the case around the bearing trying not to heat the bearing (aluminum warms faster then steel), once the case is good and warm then flip it over and with a punch and a gentle tap of a hammer on the inner race of the bearing it should just pop out after a few taps. Once you have the bearing out then you can remove the seal if you haven't already done so. Clean the surface that the bearing sits in very well, I suggest carb cleaner or something of the sort. After it is clean heat it back up, go grab your new bearings out of the freezer and drop them right in. As long as you have the case hot enough the bearings should push right in. Let cool to room temperature and then reassemble. Put the transmission back into the case, Yamabond the mateing surfaces of the cases and push them together. I have a piece of pipe that I have made to fit onto the case at the crank bearing, you can use something similer. Then press the cases together slowly making sure that the transmission is not binding with anything and the crank spins free. After they are together put your center case bolts and and finish assembly.
Q: I already have the parts how much would a shop charge for labor to do 2 front wheel bearings
You raise some good points here.
