Q: I called sports authority to ask for a freewheel/cassette socket and some guy I talked with told me that the bearings are very hard to get to and to not even bother trying to clean and re-grease them. I told him that I have rode hundreds of miles and hear a slight squeak with my back tire so I think I should re-grease it. Also sometimes I get rained on.I don't really buy what he is saying judging from what seems to be common sense and also vids/stuff I have read. Thanks for any info

Q: The Model is a Hustler. And it was bought around '76-'75. Would it take any kind of bearings or a certain kind? And where can I find a pair of trucks to fit?
any
Q: I got some bone reds from zumiez and second day they lost spin. Whats wrong with them?
your bolts might be too tight, or the bearings were not pressed in all the way, or you just got a defect bearing. Just take them back and ask for help and support local shops not chain skate shops
Q: ok so i have a customized haro f1 bmx bike and im look to buy new bearings for my cranks or bottom bracket w.e. you call it.im not sure what kind i need.american? mid? euro? or spanish?
Walmart motorcycles could be ok, however the climate used are each from time to time of low high quality, and the bike maximum possibly became assembled by employing some1 who had no guidance there4. all of the excellent of success, be it a walmart bike or no! Timothy :o)
Q: i have a 94 vigor and im going to replace the front rotors/pads soon. it has rotors pressed on the hub (common on early 90s hondas) so when changing the rotors, new wheel bearings have to be put also because when pressed out, the old bearings will be junk. so i will have to remove the steering knuckle and take it to a machine shop so the can press the new bearing in.
you probably would,nt need it but it would,nt hurt to have it done.
Q: What are the needle roller bearings with an inner diameter of 14, an outer diameter of 20 and a width of 20?
I didn't find a modelIt should be non-standard
Q: i have removed the rear wheel and centre cap do i need to remove the drum
Hello Tony, When you are replacing your wheel bearings, front or rear, you will need to remove the braking assembly, regardless if it has drum or disc brakes. The bearings are either housed in a hub that has the studs machined into it, or they are part of a hub assembly that also has the studs machined into it. Anything between the lug nuts and these bearing housings (hubs) needs to be removed. Good Luck!
Q: Took my car to the mechanic yesterdcay because it was occasionally making grinding noise when turning right they said its the bearings and i don't have the money to get it fixed til next wendesday. I have to drive to school on tuesday which is an hour from my house...will it be dangerous to take this trip before getting it fixed? The car is a 2003 dodge neon
If it's just grinding once in a while on turns and going straight down the road the bearings are quiet, you should be OK. Just don't keep driving it like that because the bad bearings can ruin the spindle or they can really let go and scare the shitt out of you. Not the safest thing to do so drive with caution and I would not be going over 50 mph.
Q: Was recently told by a friend that my front two wheel bearings needed replaced (actually, that the wiring for them was pulled right out of them - which in an 99 Alero requires replacing the entire system) after an ABS light had been on for quite awhile in my car. Furthermore, he suggested that I also needed to replace a pigtail in my car - though I do not know what that is (anyone know?). He quoted me a $750 price tag on the deal and being our friend, we assume that we are getting some sort of labor deal as well - but checking it out we found some sort of pigtail online but it was only $10. With $190 for each wheel bearing that should add up to only $390 + tax so we were a little confused. Can anyone explain what/how much a pigtail is actually worth and what would be a right price on this fix with without labor? I realize prices are slightly different all over the world - so if it helps, this is in Ohio in the States. Much appreciative!!!
Check with at least two other reputable auto centers in your area. The labor for wheel bearings can be high because the parts have to pressed by a big machine. Lots of bolts to pull and maybe you are getting new brake rotors too because bad bearings can ruin the brakes as well. good luck....
Q: I have noticed that my ride is very noisy. I thought about replacing them but they come as the whole assembly. Please help!
You have hub bearings that need to be replaced, once they start to make noise the damage is done and its time to replace them. If your tires are cupped they will sometimes sound like bad bearings.
