- Q:The bearings on one of my longboard wheels got rusted. I feel like it's unnecessary to buy a whole new set of bearings when only two of them are messed up, but it's pretty noticeable. Any hope for fixing them?And don't suggest WD-40. It screws up your bearings.
- I heard that soaking them in Coca Cola will get rid of the rust (but you gotta clean them realllly good after). Otherwise, you can buy another set of bearings, then when some of them rest, mix and match and throw out old, rusted bearings as needed.

- Yeah guy. Of direction so as to be quality. I've performed that earlier than whilst I was once more youthful when you consider that I had not anything else lol. Yeah, simply positioned it on and roll your wheels and positioned extra on. Do that for a couple of days in a row and your bearings shall be spinning and spinning and spinning!

- Yep - bad news for the bearings. The wheel bearings in those things are unsealed ball bearings and are susceptible to getting water inside. Freezing makes the water crystallize and when it melts the dispersed water is changed to droplets that rust the balls and races. Bicycle wheels have the same problem. The carts belong to the store and the manager is responsible for seeing they are treated properly. As an employee your job is to treat them the way the manager says. If he says pour acid on them, pour acid on them.

- Q:I have a 38 sector nine bambo fiji longboard. I was thinking about getting bones reds, or bones super reds. What bearing should i get? An answer is greatly appreciated!
- Depends on what you are doing? If it is just pushing, cruising, freeriding, the bones reds should be fine. If you are thinking more downhill or anything with more speed, which probably isn't the best on that board, you might want to invest in something like the bones swiss.
- Q:What would it cost to have the wheel bearings replaced on a 98 Mercury Sable? Also, how bad is it to drive on busted ones? My car is making a grinding noise when I turn corners and I have been told that this might be caused by bad bearings.
- It definately sounds like the bearings, or hub assemblies (as the repair shops call it) when I bought mine, they were $105 each and i needed both up front done. Labor is extra depending on where you go, unless u know someone with air tools who'll do it for you. oh.. and i drove on mine for about 3 months, which is not recommended, but i had to wait until i had enough money to get them fixed.
- Q:I have a 98 Jetta GL and my left rear shock absorber has begun leaking fluid in the past month or so. I have also had issues with the bearings wearing out, so I had them replaced less than 2000 miles ago. But now these newly installed ones are giving me the telltale signs of going-to-crush-soon. Could a failing shock absorber cause uneven wear/premature failure of my rear wheel bearings? I know that the bearings were installed packed correctly.Also, on the hub assembly the nut that goes on just before putting in the cotter pin tends to loosen after about 50 miles of driving. I continue to tighten it, then back it off slightly but the problem still occurs. This occurs on BOTH rear wheels. I am at a loss for what can cause this. Help!Thanks!
- HI no shocks don't cause ware on bearings... did you get the ring back on the goes over the nut that you install the cotter pin Thu? That holds he nut from turning and backing out.. good luck tim
- Q:How to replace front wheel bearings and 97 saturn?
- Remove wheel. Remove brake caliper. Remove brake caliper bracket. Remove brake rotor. Remove axle nut. Remove the two bolts holding the strut to your wheel spindle. Mark their positions incase they are cam bolts, and reinstall later in the same spot and orientation they were removed in. Remove strut from wheel spindle. Remove axle from wheel bearing by pulling spindle forward and pulling axle backwards. Remove 4 bolts holding wheel bearing assembly to spindle. Bang the bearing assembly out with a hammer. Clean the area where the new bearing will be installed, and reverse procedure.
