Q: I'm building another computer to give to someone, i have all the parts and when it got down to installing the CD drive and the Hard drive i plugged the sata cables into the motherboard but when i looked to install them to the power supply mine did not have any of those cables. I had spare cables from my other power supply but they require you to plug them into the power supply but since the other power supply is older it doesn't work. I was wondering if i could get cables that plug into the extra connectors then to the CD drive/ Hard drive instead of plugging them into the power supply then the CD drive/ Hard drive.
Handycam Camcorders do no longer draw potential from USB. you may desire to purchase a replace potential grant cable. while you're taking the camcorder to a place like superb purchase or Radio Shack, you may in all likelihood get a clean cable for little or no money (regardless of if that's not the best Sony cable).
Q: I bought a Zmodo CCTV system. The system came with 60' of cable,so I purchased some 165' cables.I would like to have more, but I can't find anything longer than 165' anywhere. Is that the longest size that they manke?Thank you
Extend them yourself
Q: I have a Dell Latitude D505. I do not need comments on whether I have a good laptop or not. That's not the point.I heard a tiny pop sound, and after that, my laptop is not recognizing the power cable. I don't think it's the cable. I've tried restarting the computer. Any suggestions?
Does it runn off the battery with the cable unplugged? Does it run plugged in with the battery removed? Popping sounds are bad, you laptop may need professional attention.
Q: How would I go about stripping 4 gauge power battery cable for my amp? oh and how would i screw the fuse holder down? with what kind of screws? thank you!
I use a knife to strip that wire, just be careful not to nick the wire. Drill a hole and use sheet metal screws to screw the fuse holder down.
Q: I am not sure of the reason but when i plugged in the power cable there was a crackling sound only for a second and then it stopped. I remember a similar occurennce when i had a loose electrical circuit would this have done any harm to the computer.
Check your connections, if there is nothing visibly wrong, i would try to plug other appliances into the socket and see if the same sound thingy happens, if not i suggest sending your computer for a check, or try to minimise the amount of times you plug your computer in and out of the wall
Q: theres a red wire, black and yellow. i turned the power supply to the shower off at the main switch board. but when cutting through the cables to repair it it nocked off another switch on the switch board even though the shower is on its own circuit. does this mean there is still power in the wires and is there any power in the yellow wire (earth). witch is the live wire red or black?
Power near shower or to? You have 220 power and both the red and black are live (will deliver 110 to earth.)
Q: I lost the power cord and USB cable to my HDD case. The company of the case is Intex. On a sticker is says, Intex HDD Case T-350 SA.This was posted a long time ago by someone, but it's the only place I can find the photo.Serious answers only please, I'm not asking if I should get a new one. I just want to know the information on the power cord and cable.
It's a regular USB 2 cable. No idea what sort of power it takes. Can't be a very special power though. Your best bet is to get one of those switchable supplies from Radio Shack and try the voltage one at a time until the drive works. If you go under the drive won't run, so you can't do it that way if you start low and move higher.
Q: i'm using an older mac at uni to do illustration, i pulled the computer round to put a tablet in it and the computer shut down, there are about 20 computers in the lab....the power cable at the back that is connected to the monitor is loose, i tried to put it back in but it's crackling....can i get electrocuted from putting it back in? i can't shut down all the computers so there's still electricity running through...thanks
no prob... no need to b scared jis put the cable in... i do this job all day long.... i knw alot abt hardware... trust me nothing wud happn
Q: I'm lost i cant find a hole in my ford c-max firewall to install my power cable for amp can someone help me as i am traveling this sat to France by car .
In most vehicles there are spare holes filled with rubber plugs. Pop one out with a screwdriver and make a hole in plug a little smaller than the size of the wire for a very tight fit. If it's a smaller size power wire, it can sometimes be run through the same grommet as the vehicles main harness. Be very careful not hurt the existing wire. I have seen people get careless and screw the harness up and it's not easy or cheap to fix. When doing this I usually use a stiff wire (a small diameter yet long screwdriver can work too) and slide it through the grommet. I then use electrical tape to secure the power wire to stiff wire and pull it through. Make sure your penetration point is still leak proof after doing this. You may need to use some silicone and or electrical tape to seal it up.
Q: i need to know what kind of cable i need to supply power to my internal dvd player. I ALREADY HAVE AN IDE CABLE
You need a molex cable. Here is a page you can check out to get some 1 to 2 adapters for molex cables. I have ordered things from them before and was very pleased:
