- Q: I'm installing a new bathtub, can I attach the tub to the cement board?
- Not directly. Use silicone to seal the bath flanges to the cement board
- Q: I just completely gutted my bathroom down to the wall studs and original plywood sub-floor. Which do I install first -- the new bathtub or the cement backer board on the floor? The original tile floor was over an inch thick. The new tub will be fiberglass, and I plan to put ceramic tile around the tub area as well as the main floor.

- Q: Advantages and Disadvantages of Foaming Cement Thermal Insulation Board

- Q: The cement is in a three foot hole used with lumber for a hammock which, was too small as it broke off at the base. I've read where other people have dug around the cement to loosen it, but my main problem would be lifting it out once it's loose. Another option I found was using a sledge hammer to break it up but I don't own one. - Not very practical. How do you clean the concrete surface? That's why tile is so popular, it's washable. Say nothing for smooth stone, Corian, even fiberglass bath panels. It will be mildewed and soap scum stained within a month of use. No thanks, not in my house.
