- Q: I've had my subs wired up for a while but want to see if there is a more efficient way to do it. Hardware: Sony Xplod 800w amp bridgeable amp - What's the best way to wire these up to get the most volume?
- wire the voice coils to series on each sub and then wire the subs in parallel to the amp and voila.
- Q: but it says there are three Pink wires. There's not even three pink wires coming out of the car.The chassis/clip has been removed (by previous owner) and all that is left is the wires. All that is needed is a list of the colors and what they go to. Thanks.

- Q: I want to install a single-pole dimmer switch for a series of 4 pot lights in the same box (double gang) as a kill switch for a receptical already installed. There is a 14-3 wire (b/w/r/g) brigning power into the box from the main, and 14-2 wiring for the dimmer and 14-2 wire for the kill switch. How do I wire this? The single pole dimmer has a ground and two black wires. The switch to kill the receptical has only two brass screws on one side.
- First of all cut the red wire back out of the way, it will not be used. Next route the incoming power black wire to the kill switch, same black wire continues out the other screw from the kill switch to the dimmer, no it does not matter which screw which black wire goes on. Then the black will go to each pot light and continue on to the next one etc. So you will have two black power and one light lead connected together at each box except for the last one. Same for the white wire. This will turn all the lights on and off at the same time and they will be parallel wired so they will all have the same brightness.
- Q: I want to know what the definition is of a hot wire gauge.
- A hot wire gage is a tool that tells you which wire(s) are hot meaning that they have electricity running through them. If you go to the tool store you would ask for a voltage detector. These are about the size of a pen. They light up and beep when the detect voltage. I highly recommend having one when doing electrical. There is nothing worse than grabbing a wire that you thought was powered off only to get lit up. Hope this helps.
- Q: Can you wire an extention cord to low voltage wireing? to like malabu lights
- more detail please ? I don't know what malibu lights are, but low voltage lights can be fed from a mains adapter which is plugged into a mains extension socket. Its generally a bad idea to take mains leads outside though, unless it's just for a temporary piece of work in dry weather. If what you mean is: can mains cable be used for low voltage, then yes that's ok as long as it's just the cable it doesn't have a mains plug on it.
- Q: Im Very Curious As To How Did The Designer Orese Make Her, African Continent Shape Wire Earrings? I Have The Supplies To Make Wire Earrings. I Would Love To Do A Personal DIY! :~)
- as well as on the first page link above, under the category Wire-Framing (P.S. Why did you use initial caps on all words in your question?...kinda hard to read.) .
- Q: @topicAnd does the size of the wire matter in electrical consumption?
- Simple as I can make it: The size of the wire, and the material it is made of will govern it's resistance for a given length. A large wire will have less resistance than a smaller one of the same material. Ferrite will have more resistance than copper or aluminum. In power transmission lower resistance means lower losses. In a resistance heater, lower resistance means greater consumption. (More power will flow, More heat will be produced).
- Q: I think I have heard about flat cable wires?maybe even flat electrical wires.where you can hide them behind a base board.is this true?what are they called/thx
- There okorder and didn't see it, but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. I'm not sure if they still make it.
- Q: How are wired differ from wireless doorbells, next how are they installed and finally the cost of them?
- Wired have a wire that connects the button near the door, the transformer, and the chime. When the button is pushed, the transformer energizes the chime, causing it to ring. You, or an electrician, must fish wires to a location where a transformer can get a constant supply of power, such as an outlet. There also need to be wires fished to the chime and the button. Wireless work with radio waves. Costs vary widely, depending on the setup you go with. Decent wireless units start around $35-40, and go up from there. New chimes for wired systems start around $8 and up. Transformers start at $10, buttons start around $5. Hope this helps.
- Q: I recently instaled a Alpine in dash dvd player, the only wire i have left is the safety wire that needs to go to the parking brake wires. Where can the parking brake wires be found on a Ford Explorer and which 1 shound it go to ??? Thanks in advance!
- the parking break wire is above the parking break lever in the far left upper corner covered in protective tape the wire color is either green/red, or red/green you will know it because its the only wire thats inside of that protective tape.
