Brake Horsepower (BHP) and Wheel Horsepower (WHP) are the same thing. BHP is derived from an old method of measuring horsepower using a now obsolete tool called a Prony brake, but nowadays it refers to more of the engine's actual power minus power lost in the friction of the drive train components before getting to the driving wheels. WHP is just an alternative term.
Q: I was doing a small project about compressed air and found some death relating stories about compressed air intake. apparently if you take in enough it freezes the inside of your body, whether upright or upside down. But what happens if you go about just spraying it and letting it go free into air without in-taking it directly. Upside down you see the liquid come out along with the compressed air. is that harmful in anyway or would it just dissipate into thin air?
If you release it directly to the atmosphere, it will be warmed by the ambient air and not be a problem. It can only be a problem is it is at very high pressure and is then released to atmospheric pressure in a small enclosed space where you are breathing. Then you might experience some frost bite but remember people breath air all the time in very cold climates where the temperature is well below freezing.
Q: Cold air intake replaces the old intake system, but I thought the throttle body replaces the intake system also so can you have both?
Your ITBs will have separate intakes for each cylinder therefor you would not be able to use a cold air intake system.

A cold air intake moves the filter housing away from the engine and possibly lower to the ground to keep engine heat away from the incoming air. Many of them are poorly designed but if it is designed correctly, it can help boost engine output as the air entering the intake is cooler/more dense as well as fuel economy (most cold air intakes use less restrictive filters which allows the engine to 'breathe' more easily. As for installation, you did not mention which year, make, and model you have so no one knows how difficult it would be on your vehicle.

Dont do it you will get the warranty canceled by toyota for midifications. you cannot change the intake or the exhaust system until after the warranty expires. Those cold air filters have been proven time and again not to deliver what they promise. please contact your trusted mechanic before doing anything to your truck. Power chips, cold air filters are nothing but expensive trash that does not improve anything, and worse are expensive. you can buy a lot of gas for 500 to six hundred bucks.

The other answerers are correct. The Cold Air Intake won't give you much horsepower really (maybe 3-10 depending on what kind of car) but it is not really noticable unless you are at full throttle. What it does is basically make your car sound better (deeper) and ride smoother. They have many benefits as adding some gas mileage, make your car run better with more power (nothing major but it's there) and you don't have to replace them (the filter - I would go with KN) for a new one. You can go buy a kit from your local parts store or clean them out with regular water and then reinstall. They are awesome. I have them on both of my cars and it makes a big difference than what the stock part came. I would go for it. Good luck with your ride.

Terrible idea. The factory equipped cold air intake is tuned for maximum hp at the widest range of driving.
Q: i bought a cold air intake for my car (AEM cold air intake ) but when i was surfing the web i saw some other ones that cost waaaayyyyy less then the one i got. Whats the difference between the really expensive ones and the really cheap ones.They look the same too me.
AEM piping and filter(KN) is better then the other cheap brands. the metal on the AEM pipes restrict heat,therefore the air sucking in stays COLD the whole time.(like a heat shield) cold air means better mpg and faster speed
