Q: whats the best cold air intake for a 2002 v6 mustang i really want some good not traditional kn
Make your own. I've seen people make them from PVC pipe and a high-flow cone filter, like Spectre, that actually flow very well. It may not be shiny but its at least functional. You can also buy the rubber seal/connectors that are used in the name brand kits. If you make your own, you will probably only spend about 1/3 of the cost of a kit. Another cheap and just as efficient way is to just buy the cone filter and remove/modify the stock air box. The stock inlet piping will flow decent enough without the restriction of the factory filter and air silencers built into the air box.
Q: What brand of performance parts are the best?
Cleveland HB3 hyrbid irons
Q: cold air intake? cold air box? high performance air filter? short pulley?
cold air intake, from what i've heard is for show and sound only. not really any noticible hp. if its standard, i'd get a short shifter. so you can shift faster. not really an engine mod. make sure you changed your timing belt because if it snaps, any mods won't matter. don't get those chips they sell for you rcar, not worth it. doubt it works
Q: I want to know where the air intake is for a 2001 Olds Alero Coupe. I have field mice building nests in the air box and they get stuck in the squirrel cage fan. Today will be the fourth time I‘ve had to remove the fan to get them out.I thought it was up between the hood and the windshield, those slots where the posts for the wiper arms mount. It doesn‘t look large enough for them to get in and out of there although it has been me who is getting them out!I want to do what I did for the air filter box, put a screen over the intake so they don‘t climb into the lower part of the filter box an build their nest.I guess it is the curse of living in the country.
they're getting into the inside of the car, up the heater vents and into the htr. put traps in your garage or around the car, feed them like crazy and u will soon get them
Q: Looking for a cold air intake that has the best quality while not being overly expensive.2006 GMC Canyon i5 3.5L
Pete does have some validity in his answer. Oftentimes the cheaper CAI's are neither true cold air kits, nor are they tested for their application. However, I do disagree with his seldom critique on performance. There are times where a truly aggressive CAI kit can alter the fuel trims on the car - this is generally caused by the significant alteration of the airflow characteristics around the MAF. This is not a bad thing per se - it only means that the car must be 'tuned' for the change. However, a decent CAI can improve performance (and sound) without that effect (or a reasonable change that the ECM/PCM can correct for. Case in point; I have a 95 Z28 with a Moroso intake and KN filter that nets me about 5-7 hp improvement by around 5,000 rpm (on top of other mods). I also have a KN CAI on an 09 Cobalt SS/TC that required the GMS1 tune to realize any gain, but after the tune, the improvement to the turbo'ed engine is fairly noticeable. As for price/improvement; I'm assuming your GMC Canyon is an automatic - if it is, the improvement you see from a CAI is rather small for the price, since the transmission shifts the engine down before any flow gains are realized. You would likely get close to the same low-end improvements by dropping a performance air filter into the stock box, and possibly doing some porting mods on the stock box to best channel flow. I'm also not aware of any inexpensive CAI kits for your truck; the only ones I would be confident in are either the AEM or the KN units, and they're between 250-300 bucks, and net around 7 hp. Unless you're doing other mods after the CAI to capitalize on the improvements, I'd probably just do a performance filter upgrade.
Q: Installed a new cold air intake on my 2000, 2.4 Mitsubishi Eclipse(manuel) a few weeks ago. I reset the ecu, but after over 100 miles of driving it still can not idle at a steady rpm, it only has good acceleration/power sometimes, and it lurches a lot while driving. There are no leaks now and seeing as there were no problems before i installed it, I thought for sure that after this much driving it would be adjusted and running great. However, it has not shown much improvement. i have no good idea what is going on and am desperate to know what the problem is and how i can fix it. If anyone has the answer or even an idea please let me know, thanks.
unfortunately for the most part cold air intakes are crap, they seldom live up to manufacturers claims, and worse, can cause damage to your engine. Your car had a factory cold air intake already, engineered to work correctly with your engine and ecu. This question is now a daily occurrence, and sadly many stories such as yours have the same outcome, a plastic sewer pipe with an air filter stuck to it, has done nothing, except cause possible damage to your engine. Take this junk off your car, and toss it, I hope you kept the original air filter and factory air cleaner intake. And please next time, don't drive for two weeks that thing should have been off your car, 20 minutes after you put it on. Always check with your mechanic, I found some information about cold air intakes and after looking at the information, called my mechanic, and he said DO NOT SCREW UP A PERFECTLY GOOD RUNNING CAR. my second question about power chips had the same answer, so remember this too please, NO POWER CHIPS!!!. YOU NEED TO PUT YOUR VEHICLE BACK TO STOCK CONDITION and hope and pray that there is no internal damage. The computer can lean out your mix, and if this happens you can burn up the motor easily. good luck, let us know if you were able to save your motor, we like those stories.
Q: I just want to know where the air intake is located on my jetski? Because i was wondering how the jetski can continue to run after it has been submerged, and how all the moisture in the air doesnt ruin the engine. I have a kawasaki ultra 150

Q: Im wondering wat the best Cold Air Intake is for a 1999 Dodge Dakota Sport 5.2L. I have been looking at the AFE intakes, but i want to knwo wat will give me the best horsepower gain and gain in MPG
right now the best cold air intake system on the market is the KN one ,the complete system gives around 10-12 horse power gains on some vehicles,on a 99 dakota you could expect to see at least an 8-10 horse power gain on it,good luck with it.
Q: What are the engine intake supercharges
the composite booster system: that is, exhaust turbocharged and mechanical supercharger and use, mechanical booster will help low torque when the torque output, but the high speed power output is limited; and exhaust turbocharged at high speed has a strong Of the power output, but the low speed when the powerless. Engine designers then envisioned the combination of mechanical supercharging and turbocharging to solve the problems of both technologies while addressing low-speed torque and high-speed power output problems. This device is used on high-power diesel engines, gasoline engine with double pressurization system (composite booster system) models are still relatively small, the public 1.4 TSI engine (this engine takes into account the low-speed torque output and high-speed power output. At the low speed, most of the supercharging pressure is provided by the mechanical booster, and the two turbochargers simultaneously provide the boost pressure at 1500 rpm. With the increase in speed, the turbocharger makes the engine more At the same time, the supercharging pressure of the mechanical supercharger is gradually reduced, and the mechanical supercharger is controlled by the electromagnetic clutch, which is assembled with the pump, which provides all the supercharging pressure by the turbocharger when the speed exceeds 3500 rpm, At this point the mechanical supercharger in the role of electromagnetic clutch completely separate from the engine to prevent the consumption of engine power) using the system. Its engine output power, low fuel consumption, low noise, but the structure is too complex, high technical content, maintenance is not easy, it is difficult to popularize.
