- Q:What brand of performance parts are the best?
- Cleveland HB3 hyrbid irons
- Q:What is the difference between a AIR INTAKE AND A RAM AIR INTAKE?
- The two most common types of aftermarket intakes are 1) Cold Air Intake and 2) Short Ram Intake. The Cold Air involves plumbing that places the air filter away from the engine bay, usually down behind the bumper, lower to the ground. This is where the cold comes from, since the air is cooler down low and out of the engine bay. Cold air is more dense, meaning you get better combustion. The Short Ram intake is a small pipe that comes off the intake manifold. The air filter is under the hood, not far away from the intake manifold. The theory is that there is less restriction, and therefore better airflow. Which you choose depends on the car and your pocketbook. A short ram typically runs about $175, where a cold air intake is at least $250 or so. Turbocharged vehicles (like my 1.8T GTI) don't typically benefit from a Cold Air Intake.
- Q:whats the difference between ram air intake and cold air intake?
- Ram is Pontiac. Cold is Ford and Olds. Pontiac's Ram air was to take advantage of the forced air (wind) coming over the hood. Included; hood scoops with air cleaner tub, bigger cam, better distributor. And in latter years. better intake and heads. The parts did more for power than the 2 PSI of air pressure. Cold air used a (dryer) hose running from behind the grill or bumper to duct cold air up to the air cleaner. The colder, denser air has more power than hot under hood air.
- Q:I have read some suggestions regarding cold air intake to get some extra hp for my 2003 CL500. I don‘t know anything about it and could somone recommend any specific manufacturer of these devices? Also could someone recommend chip tuning for my car? I tried to google that, but somehow only stuff for American Cars come up, or AMG, Brabus etc which are too expensive. I would like to increase the 306 HP of my car some 30-40 HP, without messing with the engine etc. what can be done and how much would it cost aprox. thxs a lot for the advice.
- my opinion is its fairly now not valued at it and many of the 'profits' you get are perceived from a louder consumption when you consider that its now not enclosed you desire a few acquire positioned a few top drift injectors, top drift pump and a nitrous package . could desire to spend money on a collection of road gummys
- Q:what would be the best one to buy?? and why should i buy one?
- Technically there is no need for one unless you have strait flow ''FULL'' exhaust since the intake will not increase any performance other than sound. As for which one you buy, really doesn't matter, consider going to OKorder paying $100 -200 for those name rand ones (even on OKorder) is a waste when they do exactly the same as the cheaper ones. One more thing, a short ram intake and cold air intake are the same, companies just like to toy with consumers minds look at it like this, unless the cold air intake is drawing in air from under the car (which is not a good idea) there is no benefit both intakes will be drawing in the same hot air being produced by the engine.
- Q:what kind of flowmsters should i get for my 98 jeep grand cherokee? How much will it cost, and how much HP gain? Also what kind of cold air intake should i get? How much will it cost, and how much HP gain? PS: it‘s a 4.0 i6
- No point. Its a four banger. Just get a bigger pipe.
- Q:How much will the MPG go up on my 2000 Nissan Maxima if I add a cold air intake?
- None. Contrary to popular belief, a metal pipe attached to your MAF/MAP sensor with a cone-shaped filter will not increase your horsepower by 20 nor will it give you better miles per gallon. It will be as if you did nothing to your intake piping and kept it stock, and just made it look shiny. Just think about it how a car works, and how your MAF works. I don't know who made these absurd claims, but unless there is restricted air in the first place - it won't do anything.
- Q:I want to put in a cold air intake in my Jag, will that compromize any part of the engine since its souch a sensitive system ? what could happen?
- Sure, you can do it, but it's not recommended. I realize this is a hotly debated topic, but in my experience, the manufacturer's intake that was specifically engineered / designed for your car is the best. The basic problem arises when you start making changes to the air intake, you also cause the computer to attempt to adapt to the new intake system, altered airflow and temperature of incoming air. You'll frequently have problems with your sensors when changing air intakes from stock to the after market intakes, and usually the only positive that results is the sound of the air intake. Performance is very rarely affected in a positive way by using an after market air intake since the computer will attempt to restore the original settings based on the original intake system for which it was programmed.
- Q:I have a 94 s10 blazer with the 4.3l v6 cpi vortec engine, above 200,000 miles and I was wondering if it‘d be a good idea to put a cold air intake system on it, I want to increase the horses but my friend was telling my that if the mileage was too high that putting one on would wear it out a lot faster, is this true and if so how quick could it wear down
- Putting a cold air intake on a blazer is a waste of money.
- Q:Will putting a KN air filter on a stock Air intake give an increase in horse power? 1998 Nissan Maxima
- it fairly is a very good question.I see multiple those chilly air intake structures (on OKorder particularly) that are no greater suitable than a huge dip on your wallet. a real chilly air intake will carry outdoors air into your intake tube, no longer warm decrease than hood air. lots of the motor vehicle manufacturers try this chilly air intaking by utilising ducting into the wheel nicely. you will have seen the classified ads displaying no longer something yet a quick tube with a filter out on the top drawing warm decrease than hood air into your engine. What a wasteand picture approximately this once you notice a sort ofif it would not herald cooler outdoors air on your inlet tube then it ain't a chilly air intake. Spend your funds the place it is going to do a little good.a okN filter out on your inventory airbox is a robust start up. it isn't the large stuff that provides you greater capability (except you have have been given bill Gates $$) however the small issues that upload up. BTW, chilly air is denser and incorporates greater oxygen molecules than an equivalent quantity of warm air, giving your greater capability. desire this helps somewhat.
