- Q: my brother is balding, he wants to get a rug and says they look great......he can afford it but it costs a ton.....I said just shave your head...what do you think??.........carpet it or shave it clean?
- I like Asian rugs and shag carpets. If your brother's name is Matt, that would be ironic, because he is a mat like a Welcome mat. Okay, I've gone too far, someone needs to report me for bad joking. Toupee's are fake-looking, that's all there is to it.
- Q: So, im trying to make a little ramp for summer skiing. I need to know what i should use(ex. carpet (type?))
- Go to the place near you that sells carpeting. Get the green plastic stuff that looks like fake grass. Some people use this on decks and on boats. If you are using Snogel, this kind of carpet works very well. It's what I use.
- Q: Okay, a its getting colder ive started rugging my horse again, but theres one slight problem. He' terrified of them. It never happened before, but for the past couple of weeks the only way i can get a rug off him is by undoing the straps and letting him spook while holding onto the rug, and then putting it on i have to have very skilled aim and try to get it on while he is running in circles. This isnt happening because this is his first year of having a rug, he has had them for all 14 years of his life, its just ridiculous, and its not like the rug is different in any way at all. Its not my method of putting on/taking off the rug either, no one at my stable can do it without him spooking. Just wondering though, is there anyway i can desensitise him to this? Or find a better way to get the rugs on and off?
- Silly horses. I don't have too much advice about desensitizing, I haven't had to deal with that a lot, but I do have a great way to take it on and off! Undo all the clasps, and then starting in the back, fold it half way up his back. Then take the front and fold it until it meets the folded back part. Then you will just have a strip of blanket on his back that you can remove without a lot of noise and fuss. Keep it in that same shape to put it back on. Unfold the front and then the back, then do all the clasps. I take off blankets and put them on this way on all horses I deal with and its really fast and effective. It's also a great method if the horse is really tall.
- Q: I'm interested in re-carpeting our new house in two small bedrooms, which are approximately 12x14 each. I'm assuming carpet is $1.50 per square foot, but I have no idea about carpet padding.I'm looking into Home Depot for installation. What do you think a rough estimate for my budget should be?Thanks!
- For that priced carpet, budget a minimum of 3$ a s/f for that carpet to be installed with a basic 5 1/2 or 6 pound pad. . Doing those measurements you have 336 s/f. Budget a minimum 1000$. Some times places like HD have specials to install whole house for 99$. This will bring costs down a lot. Closer to the 800$ range. Always budget a bit more for any surprises such as disposal of the old. Rip up if your not doing it and the outside chance of sub floor repair, etc. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
- Q: Wheres the chaepest place to get carpet?
- Personally, myself I would go for something besides carpet. These days many many new and old homeowners are going to hardwood floor or laminate. Which in the long run could be a lot cheaper then carpet. (depends on the store etc). I would seriously look into it, I recently changed to it and its a lot less work, easy to clean and keep clean, doesn't show dirt plus it doesn't hold all the dust and stuff in it that causes allergies and other health problems. Its a total good investment and also if you ever decide to sell your home it boosts the value of your home and people love the look of it.
- Q: I found this carpet last year by Shaw- Kathy Ireland's Young Attitudes line it's called Grape Harvest. Where and how can I find it? It's such beautiful carpet? If anyone knows where I can buy it please share. NO SMARTASS COMMENTS SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE
- I was looking for Shaw Industries but couldn't find it - think their mill is located in Georgia. Contact a local carpet store that may be able track it down for you. How about the place you first saw it - they may have some overrun left. If it is discontinued then the Shaw may be your only hope - maybe they have an outlet somewhere.
- Q: I'm looking to buy black carpet for my bed room. I understand it's high maintenance etc. I would just like to know where to purchase it, online or in a store,.
- Well, You have not mention where did you stay. My Answer you can buy near by your market or you can visit carpet showroom
- Q: Kids took natural fiber rug outside while cleaning hardwood floors. Boom - Super thunderstorm. Next day rug is soaked, its not looking good at all. is there anything I can do to recover it? After a day or two in the sun trying to dry it out one spot near edge is beginning to grow mold. Can I save it?
- See if you can clean on both sides, get rid if the mold and hang it over a clothes line. You might need several clothes poles to support the weight, then pray for some dry weather until it is dry.
- Q: I currently operate a rug store that sells almost all persian rugs in Santa Rosa California (in the San Fransisco bay area). Operation is rather stable but I have two issues.1. I sell high quality rugs and hence the prices are more expensive reflecting the quality. However, many customers can find designs similar to mine on the internet at 1/3 to 1/4 of the price. (internet is 600, mine are 3000). If you put the rugs side by side you can DEFINATELY tell the drastic difference in quality. How should I cope with this?2. I am hoping to think of an idea used to promote the sale of these rugs. Any sort of promotion would be great just to get people to start buying.I have money to spend on ideas. Thanks, All help is appreciated. Best Answer will be chosen promptly.
- Try getting a catalog out to the rich folks.
- Q: Suppose you want to install carpet in a room that measures 18ft x 20ft. The carpet you want costs $28.50/sq yard and comes only in rolls that are 12 feet wide and at least 100 ft long. If you only allow one seam (where the two pieces of carpet meet), what is the most efficient way to lay carpet and how much will the carpet cost?I keep getting that the total carpet will be = to 44 sq yards, and that will cost $1254, no matter what, you need to spend about $3800 on carpet. So there is no more efficient way to lay the carpet?
- carpet area = (18*20)/9 = 40 sq yards and if an exact size was available, would cost $1140 but since you HAVE to buy a roll 12ft x 100 ft , the carpet will cost you $3800, as you have calculated
