Q: A visitor sat on our beige color sofa, made of micro fiber, leaving behind a patch of stains. She later told us that she has a skin condition that requires massaging with some oil.The sofa cover is fixed (not the removable washable kind) and we need to clean it. Is there any special chemical solution that helps remove the stain? Professional cleaners here in Germany charge a fortune for such a service.
my father in law is famous for not taking off his shoes when he comes into the house, no matter what is on them, or how many times we ask. he has brought in every kind of stain immaginable. the best thing that i have found to work on it all is a product called oxi clean. use the powder form of it. what we do, is put a scoop in a bowl, with some water, then scrub it out with a bristle brush. scrub as much as you can out, but know that oxi clean does a lot of the work while it's drying. you may need to do it 2x, but it should do the job. good luck!
Q: if there is a difrence???and are the comfy?what are the good and bads for each of them???thanks
Sofa sleepers generally look like a regular living room sofa. A futon is built differently, usually absent padded arm rests and padded cushions and having one large mattress that sits on a wood or metal frame which makes down into a bed or can have one side raised up to make a bench.
Q: the rip is on the bend of cushion cover. please help
it depends on what kind of material the sofa is made out of leather is really difficult to fix but most other things can just be sewn up if your decent with a needle and thread, otherwise contact the manufacturer and they can normally fix it... for a price
Q: The height of my door is 87 inches and the width is 36meanwhile my sofa is 90L x 39W x 40H
Depends on if you have to go around a tight corner right at the entrance, but I see no problem. All you need to do is take off the feet (usually they unscrew) and that should give you the 4 or so you need to pass through the door frame. You can also unscrew the door from its hinges and remove the door temporarily, to get that out of your way. Take the hinges out of the door from, not the hinges from the door itself. Then, you will have to flip the sofa up, so that the narrowest part is passing through the door, and the part that is 40 is up and down in the doorway. Sometimes it's easier if you tilt the sofa to make the back of the sofa and the bottom into a right-angle vee, pointing at the side of the doorframe. You need some strong help to do this. If you are having it delivered by the furniture company, you will be impressed at how efficiently the delivery crew gets that thing into your house.
Q: Is it a high maintenanceWill it become blue or yellow i is it going to look dirty
After a while it looks yellow/brownish... Because of dirt... but it's leather not microfiber so I say go for out... Just regularly clean it! Hope this helps...
Q: We just bought a sectional last month made of chenille material and our cat is TEARING it up. Yes, we've bought her a large scratching post and everything, but she's lazy and prefers to scratch on the what's most convenient for her. There are little threads already unwinding from the cushions and some of the cotton stuffing popping out of her little claw mark holes, HELP!!We have this current and BRAND NEW couch for sale. :( What material can we most depend on the second time around???*pardon if this is miscategorized, didn't know which other best category to pick besides the actual cat one*
Um, looks like not: icanhascheezburger.files.wordpres...
Q: I'm moving cross country and have a very limited decorating budget. I wanted to buy an Ikea sofa but I know how uncomfortable they are. I have an idea to create a sectional sofa/daybed by using two twin bed sets minus the frames and placing them in an L-shape with lots of pillows on top. I have my eye on two Wolf Slumber Express mattresses from Walmart that reviewers say are extremely firm. I'm thinking of just placing two twin mattresses on top of each other, thereby getting some sinking action like on a real sofa instead of putting them on a wooden foundation by themselves. Does anyone have any idea what happens when you put two mattresses on top of each other - do they slip off of each other or do they pretty much stay in position?
Your better off using the foundation underneath, which is specifically designed to supply the mattress with support. Keep in mind that mattresses and sofa's are designed for their intended purpose, so substituting one for the other isn't likely to be effective long-term. Mattresses are designed to absorb the weight of the individual spread over the entire surface area of the mattress, placing your entire weight on a few springs will result in them breaking down quickly. Using a second mattress will only expedite the wear and tear even more.
Q: anyone heard anymore information on the sofa burns scenario.and if there had been any compensation paid to anyone, if so how much to accept ?
Are you writing about a sofa that you sit on? I have not heard about this. But if it is made of a polyester material, it could cause pollution and make the air you breathe toxic. I know a person who is allergic to polyester material. I think you need to add some more details and material to your question............
Q: Which ones are comfortable to sleep on for lengthy visits? My in-laws could stay for 3 months at a time. For the folding beds, I mean those cot-like ones with thin mattresses, not murphy beds.
I'm not an expert but call the pull out ones sleepers and the fold back ones sofa beds.
Q: The living room set I like does not come with a recliner or chair, and I'd really like at least 6 seats. I'm either thinking about 2 loveseats and a sofa or 2 sofas and a loveseat. I haven't seen any living room or pictures with either of these arrangements, so I thought I'd ask around to get some opinions.
No, it will not look stupid. You need to have a pretty large room though. I would use the two love seats with the sofa rather than the two sofas and loveseat. Measure your area and if you need to visually see the placement, cut some paper or cardboard to size. Or, even masking tape. And, your chairs do not have to match the sofa. Can you pick out chairs to coordinate with the sofa? The arm style doesn't even have to match. For instance, an English arm sofa will blend with a roll arm chair. Just keep your pieces in similar style. If you have a solid sofa, you could use print chairs. If you have a fabric sofa, you could use leather recliners, etc. Look through some magazines or, you could even check out some sites like: www rbis photography or www.istockphoto. Search interior design or living rooms. They have 1000's of photos.
