- Q: I have recently come into possession of a really good couch. The ONLY problem being is that it has stains on it, and smells a little. Besides that, it's brand spankin' new and in nice condition (no rips or tears) / everything in tact. I've decided to make a project out of this couch, as I know that most of the time, suede can be a b17ch to clean, but honestly, my husband and I don't have the money for a new couch as all of our money is going towards getting a new car. So right now I'm looking at ways to get stains out, make the suede look nicer, if not great, and get rid of the little tangy smell. More than likely, I'll eventually get a slipcover for it, but right now, I'd like it in a decent condition :)
- there are proffessional steam cleaning companies that offer to clean suede sofas at a reasonable price. you can try that route or look into suede conditioners and or stain removers at local furniture stores. there are special cleaners for just that material. there are stain repellents you can add as well to decrease the chance of further stains and ultimately prolongs your investment - best of luck

- Hi, I don't have advice about companies but I have some experience in sofa beds, I think they are fairly comfortable for a night or two, good choice if seating is going to be the main purpose of the piece of furniture, but if you want something really comfy to sleep on and still use it for seating, go for a day bed with a pop up trundle, together they make a king size bed. I've slept on air mattresses and I think it's better to sleep on the carpet, they don't give you support, they are not soft, they are noisy and they loose air, I think they are good just for camping, and I would probably take a piece of foam instead of an air mattress.
- Q: My husband and I recently bought a house and I am in the process of painting and decorating. The previous owners left their sofa and love seat. The sofa is brown and the material is almost suede-like. I really like the sofa, but the love seat is HIDEOUS. It has a horrible pattern of pinks and greens, and it is torn in some places. I would just toss it, but it is super comfortable. Instead, I am going to buy a slipcover for it. My question is, should I get a matching brown cover, or would a light beige one look okay with it. It is a smallish living room with old hardwood floors that doesn't get a ton of light. Eventually I want to paint it a pale blue with white trim. So what do you think? Would the beige be better to avoid bringing more dark colors into the room or would they look weird together? Thanks in advance!
- I think the beige slipcover will be fine, especially if you get some throw pillows that have some pattern and texture to them that incorporate the brown of the sofa to tie the two pieces together.
- Q: My wife and I purchased a velvet chenille sofa a while back, and have noticed that whenever any liquid (even just water) gets on the sofa, it leavs a spot. We tried cleaning one of these spots with the cleaner we were given, and it only made the spot bigger.Unfortunatley we seem to be on the losing side of a battle with the waranty company, so I think we're on our own to get the spots out. Can anyone offer any advice on getting rid of these spots. The makeup of the chenille is :48% Rayon, 28% Polyester, and 24% cotton if that helps.Thank you so much in advance.
- hey ,i would just say hot soapy water with some elbow greece ,then another damp cloth to rub it clean ,then a dry cloth it`s a lenghthy clean up ,but worth it ,i sometimes do one sofa bit a night over the space of a few nights then does not take too long ,i have the same type of sofa it`s a beige ,camel colour and would never buy this type again !!! - That depends on the size, quality, upholstery, etc... A good quality American made carved wood sofa can run as high as $15,000. A mid-priced one could run between $2500-$4000 The cheapest molded resin sofa China would probably start in the $800 range. I'm a proponent of real wood, domestic construction, and 8-way hand-tied frames. They will cost more, but you will never replace them.
