If you meant house instead of horse, then you would want electrical wire for carrying electricity, properly taped with electrical tape where needed. I have never heard of a conducting tape being used instead of wire for a house. The shape of a tape, with its flat cross section makes it less efficient for carrying electricity and requires much more insulation per conduction capacity.

- ok, a light switch is different then a outlet plug. the black wire is the hot wire and comes in to one side if the switch and goes out the other side. the switch just open the circuit to turn off the light or closes the circuit to turn it on.

- Since you have a black, red, and white wire coming out of the wall, this tells me you have a 3-way switch (meaning the light can be controlled by two different switches, correct?) If you only have one switch operating this light, then one of the wires may be (against building code rules) used as 'ground'. If only one switch is used with the light, then you'll need to switch the breaker off, then pull out the switch and see if a wire is attached to the green screw (ground). - The electricity supply mains has three wires. They are called Live, Neutral and Earth The Live wire is connected directly to the generators of the electricity supply company. NEVER touch this wire, it carries 230 Volts and can kill you!! The Neutral wire returns the electricity to the generator after it has passed through the appliance, to complete the circuit. The Neutral wire is at approximately zero volts but you must NEVER touch this wire either!! If the wiring is faulty it may be carrying the same electricity as the Live wire. The Earth wire usually carries no electricity, it is there as a safety device. If something in the appliance goes wrong, or it is wired incorrectly, then the Earth wire may be carrying the same electricity as the Live wire. To be completely safe, NEVER touch this wire either!!

- if leith was paying attention he would of realized you already have the wire that goes straight to the battery. YOU need a wire to hook up to the red one that comes on with the ignition. if the wire thats supposed to work for this dont for some reason you can 1. hook it into the fuse box with something that comes on with the key or 2.you can simply hook the yellow wire and a 4 foot peice of 12 g wire to the one that gives it power then with your extra wire run itout on the dash for a toggle switch and run that back to the red wire and remember to turn it off or you will have a dead battery in the morning :)
