- Q: What does insulated wire do?How does it differ from regular wire used on breadboards?
- Insulated wire is .... insulated. That is, it has a layer of plastic or rubber around it so that there is no exposed metal (except at the ends) and thus minimizes the shock hazard, and also helps prevent accidental shorts between wires. Non insulated wire is bare, it has no insulation, it's just a thin copper bar. You can use either on breadboards, so I don't know what you mean by regular wire. .

- UF cable 12/2. Get a spade shovel and dig it under ground 12 if it isnt under a driveway(column 4 of table 300.5 of the NEC). The only protection you need for this wire is 12 of dirt and pipe where it comes out of the ground. You will have to use pipe on the side of your house and between the ground and light fixture with schedule 80 PVC or other rigid conduit. Remember before you dig to get a ONE CALL or diggers hotline to check for other buried cables/pipes. They can also tell you how deep the wire is if one is in the area of work.
- Q: its an older boat without fuse box, if you go to the manual on the website it gives you the wire layout. - the ground wire black is connected to -ve of battery the red wire is connected to ignition wire so when you turn on the keys the radio starts the yellow wire is connected to +ve of battery, but radio will not switch on till red is connected. good luck

- I don't know what the wires on the motion sensor are except red and black are your live wires, and white is your neutral. The two wires off your light are black is power and white is neutral. You should find the instructions for your motion sensor, it should tell you how to hook it up. Try searching for your model at yahoo or google.

- you connect the blue wire to either your power antenna turnon wire or a separate amp turnon lead. Newer decks might have a separate lead for the amp turnon. Your main power wires goes directly to your battery the blue turnon wire actually turns the amp on when you turn on the radio.

- Its hard to understand what u mean, u don't bridge speakers u bridge an amp. U might mean u need to wire the subs up to be able to wire them to an amp to a certain ohm load. If u want to bridge a 2 channel amp,u take the pos ofur speaker wire to the inside pos of the first channel, and the neg of speaker wire to inside neg of second channel.

- I wouldn't worry about polarity too much with those speakers. You're never going to be able to hear a difference, and your amplifier isn't going to care.
- Q: I'm trying to install an aftermarket radio in my 2005 suzuki forenza, but it isn't working. The display on the radio doesn't even light up. I'm thinking that it is because there are some unused wires on the oem harness. There is no plug on the original harness thanks to a previous owner, so an adapter plug is out of the question, so i just need to know what wires should or should not be connected to what other wires. The ones which have no equivalent on the aftermarket radio are: illumination wire, and dimmer wire. If someone could provide some info, that would be awesome. The radio being installed is a sony cdx-gt57up.
