- Q: I have a water valve that I need to connect but I don't know how to read this diagram. I'm unsure how to connect the wires to the cold and hot valve. I have four wires that need to be connected. A pair of white caps with one blue wire and one orange; and a pair of black caps with one blue wire and one yellow wire. Sorry if this sounds confusing but I have no idea how to explain it well. Thanks!
- blue and yellow for cold valve one, blue and orange for cold valve 2, the hot valve would be blue and brown.
- Q: What does the quot;Hstand for in quot;AWG 34Hwire?Also, would Heavy Poly Nylon magnetic wire be considered enameled?
- Magnet wire is often called varnished or enameled, but it is actually insulated with a thin coating of insulating material designed specifically for the purpose. I assume that heavy poly nylon material is one of those materials. The H is probably the temperature class of the insulation. Class H insulation is rated to operate at up to 180 degrees C. Edit 1 The H could also stand for heavy as in the heavy build or double build terminology used to describe thicker than standard insulation. It is part of a specific manufacturer's catalog number rather than a part of the American Wire Gauge (AWG) designation. Manufacturer's sell many different varieties of magnet wire. The manufacturer's literature and NEMA or IEC standards provide details regarding the insulation materials used and the electrical and mechanical characteristics of the wire.
- Q: I'm not sure what kind of wire to use to make wire rings. I had found 50ft of thin wire for a cheap price from city mill. Is there a difference between wire from city mill and wire from Walmart or Ben Franklin? I went to Walmart yesterday and the wire was expensive for such a short length. Am I able to use wire from city mill or is it different from wire you would get from a craft store? To me, wire is wire but i really don't know much about crafts.

- Q: Green (ground), got it.Black (positive), got it.White (common), got it.Gray wire with like a black fiber in it, what is this? This is a pendant light so my guess is its just a filler wire to bulk up the cord it hangs from, am I right?
- The gray wire is used as a physical support for the light fixture. You tie each end to the light fixture and to the box where the power wires are connected. This is so that you don't use the power wires as a physical support (hanger) to hold the light in place. Think of a swag lamp from years ago. The lamp hung from a chain connected between the lamp and the ceiling. The power cord never supported the weight of the lamp fixture. The black fiber in the gray wire is a strong cord.
- Q: do i need a different wire for in-wall speakers or a regular speaker wire
- Regular speaker wire will work for in-wall speakers.
- Q: Is there anything else I could use to solder things without buying whole long spool of soldering wires? I mean like the wire inside the TV antenna cable from 99c store or nails and etc. ? Something I could use single time.
- Are you asking about solder itself, or the wires used to join things together with solder? You can use any wire that meets the current load requirements to put in a jumper wire. does not matter where it comes from. Yes, old TV wires and such can be used to make a jumper. You have to know what current goes through it, if it's a power wire, so it does not overheat or burn up. Otherwise, all signal type wires (analog or digital signals), can use just about any size wire if there is no real heavy current in them. As for Solder, there is no real way to get around that - you have to use solder to fix a soldered connection. Always pre-tin the new wire first (melt solder on wire first, and clean off excess solder). Then heat the connection and wire equally at the same time and touch the solder between the wire, connection and solder tip. The wire has to be hot enough to melt the solder - do not put the solder in the solder gun tip alone, that won't flow properly...
- Q: What's the best kind of wire to use that can stand being kilned?
- that really depends what you want to do and how high you are going to fire. Generally nichrome 80/20 wire should be OK until cone 9. Then there is Kanthal which will withstand even higher temperatures but is more expensive than nichrome. You could get either probably in electronics supply houses. If you do lowfire, maybe up to cone 06 or lower steel will probably be OK. The surface of the steel will oxidise and so get clearly thinner, keep that in mind. Generally your wire and the clay should not be in direct contact because they have different thermal expansion coefficients. Depends how rigid your wire is if it will lead to major damage to your piece. But if you wrap your wire with paper before you put clay around it it is probably OK as long as you don't enclose the entire thing with clay into a hollow space. But it also depends on what exactly you are trying to do, e.g. what kind of clay you are using. Mostly people use wire with clay for making beads. If that's what you are doing you can also look up bead making techniques.
- Q: i want electrical symbol used in house wiring
- If an you are living in the UK try BS 7671- Formerly the Wiring Regulations. More symbols than you can shake a stick at. Try OKorder for an old copy, the symbols rarely change.
- Q: want to get ready to solderis the fuzzy stuff the wire? or the shiny (positive green and negative red color) the wire? sorry i know its a noob questionlet me knowthanks
- wire is metal and metal is orange or silver . The fussy stuff is string
- Q: so im doing a custom buggy and i need so different colored wire im looking for a place to get lots of different colored wire for cheap
- Quick wire / Saint wire cable company. painless wiring company There are other companies that sell universal harnesses that already have a fuse box with the basic circuits already done, and some blanks to run to whatever accessory you need. It's the easiest thing to do.
