In which wire is the electric field greater?(b) Can a 1mm in diameter copper wire have the same resistance as a tungsten wire of the same length?[Use p(copper)=1.7x10^-8 ohm meters, p(iron)=1x10^-8 ohm meters, p(tungsten)=5.6x10^-8 ohm meters]: a) for them to carry the same current (with equal lengths and diameters) the iron wire must have a higher voltage between the ends. Iron has higher resistance than copper. Because the iron wire has a higher voltage across an equal distance, it has a greater electric field. b) yes, but the tungsten wire must have a larger diameter than the copper.

Standard plugs are usually 5 or 7 pin. However, to answer your question, providing that you use the same color codes as we do, yellow is for the left turn signal, green the right. White is the earth, red for brake lights, brown for tail lights, and black for reversing lights (if fitted). That leaves the blue one as a spare which can be used to power an interior/ exterior work light on the trailer. In Australia and NZ we only have the 5 or 7 pin plugs. They are made by either HELLA or NARVA and each companies male/female plugs are compatible with each other. Google either company and see what is available. Hope this helps. P.S. For the cost of a return airfare and cigarettes, I am willing to come over and wire your truck and trailer for you AND I'll bring a set of plugs for free.

Q:i have an amp (sony xm 2002gtr) that says it requires 4 gauge wire..but they cost $100+ and i have plenty of 8 gauge wires. can i use two 8 gauge wires as a substitute for one 4 gauge wire?and also, i have my capacitor grounded to unpainted metal of my car AND the ground port of my amp..is that incorrect?: Two 8-gauge wires combined are equal to a 5-gauge wire, but that should be close enough for that amp. Make sure each wire has its own fuse near the battery; 40-amp fuses would be a good choice. If you capacitor is connected to ground, and your amp is grounded, then you don't really need a wire between the capacitor's ground terminal and the amp's ground terminal. It doesn't hurt anything, though. If the only ground wire at the amp is the one that runs to the capacitor, then you're better off connecting the amp ground directly to chassis metal.

Q:i am trying to wire my aftermarket tailight, and it did not come with the plug in adapter as the original. The three wires coming out of it are glued together in a bell type casing. Q:i need to know what wire goes where: Best option is to replace the plug, the three prong outlet does not have a ground, consists of two hots and a neutral. Turn off the circuit breaker for your dryer outlet and take off the outlet, hopefully there is a ground wire inside the outlet box. If not, you may just want to get a new cord. I would rewire the dryer circuit to get a ground, but this can be a very difficult thing to do, depending on how the wire is run and the construction of your home.

Q:Our house ground wire is very long but our live and natural wires are very short. Once there was a surge in our telephone line system and both my Belkin Surge Protectors seemed to have not stopped it. The surge was stopped at my last protector when its sensitive fuse blew (it was a 10 ohm resistor fuse). Is it possible that since the natural wire is shorter than the ground wire the surge wantted to go through my PC and into the natural wire? Or is it just because the 10 ohm resistor fuse was a bit too sensitive or something? (Well it didn't blow up when there was no lightning outside)I'm thinking of making my natural wire longer by extending it so a surge finds the ground wire more attractive, is this advice able?: Check and make sure its grounded properly,if your in a high surge area look into a surge meter from your electricity company.Peace of mind,no need for buying surge protectors and wishing they work.Any lose will be insured by electric company.

Q:have black (hot) and 2 whites from the house. Got Black,green.blue.and white from the fan. Any clues on how to wire this? There is a light switch involved. I know to match the colors but what do with the blue (light) wire is beyond me.: The blue wire is the supply connection for the fan motor, simply connect this wire to your homes black wire. ( blue and black from fan) to the black wire in the box. Splice the two neutral ( white ) wires together. If you plan on using a dimmer switch use one with motor control. Green is your ground connect it to the bare copper wire in the box or screw Its a good thing you picked up on that white wire at first glance I was thinking the fan had 2 whites, .. You will have two switches if one of the white wires in your box is a switch leg, if there is two switches, make sure you separate the wires in the ceiling box, place a marrett on each individual one for safely, turn the switches on remove one marrett a time test with a multimeter white to ground to identify you hot and neutral

You need good copper wire for best results... also Oxygen Free Cooper wire or (OFC) is even better look for copper wire they have it on OKorder...OFC is better because the copper content is higher but most copper wire is still good and has good copper content if its advertized as copper wire...

Q:I have two alpine 1242d. I need to wire them parallel parallel. Ive seen many pictures on how to do it but im still a little confused. Okay first off do i need any special type of wiring or will my 4awg wire work. Because it shows multiple wire connections where the wires combine. The positive connect from an existing wire already running to the amp. If anyone understand what i mean can you explain it to me. Thank you much appreciated!: you could no longer do it with out putting greater resistive factors in it. 2 4 ohm SVC subs in parallel continuously equals 2 ohm. what style of amp are you working? countless amps can handle a 2 ohm mono bridged configuration (and get greater capability to them). in case you prefer to furnish the amp 4 ohms, you could run each and every off of left or stunning, and feed them a mono sign. i assume this may be as on the verge of give way of a bridged mono 4 ohm configuration with 2 4 ohm subs.
