i dont even know what phantom power is. i bought a behringer c-1 mic and ii think i need phantom power.is it a cable. i just wanna connect it to my laptop via usb or audio input jack...plz helpthnanks
Yes, you will need phantom power for this mic since it is a condenser mic. What is phantom power? Condenser microphones use an active coil around the diaphragm. This coil needs to be energized in order for the microphone to function. Phantom power is a low amperage, 48 volt signal that is sent to the microphone in order to energize this coil so that the microphone can operate. Phantom power doesn't require a special cable. The signal is sent through a standard XLR cable. But whatever interface you are using to connect the microphone to your computer will need to be able to produce the phantom power to run the mic. It's usually nothing more than a switch or a buttom to turn the phantom power off and on.
I bought a 1999 Volkswagon jetta and there is no sound coming from the speakers. There are speaker cables, power cables, and input cables in the trunk. The powers cables ( there is 2 of them) are both connected to the negative terminal of the battery. There is also 2 input cables. Do I need an amp in order for my speakers to work? If I do how do I connect it? I connected my ipod to each speaker individually and they all work.
Oh my. Please AIM me at Heffrey36, this question has many flawed components and multiple answers. I'll be glad to help.
I have digital cable through Cox. The receiver is plugged in, and the electricity is fine, but it won't turn on! Please help! I don't want to pay for repairs!
If your not getting any power to the box no little green lite or humming noise coming from the box then its dead. your just going to need to get the box replaced you should be able to just bring your box in and trade it out to avoid a service call charge.
I bought a TV and it requires 9 amps but it didn't include the cable. I have a 7 amp cable that fits, but I don't want to damage the TV. All the cables at stores around me don't fit well. Could I get away with just using this one for a couple days until the right one arrives in the mail? I can imagine that it wouldn't give me reliable power, but I don't really care about that, I just don't want to damage the power supply of the TV. Thanks in advance.
You have a TV that draws 9 amps from a 117 v.a.c. power line? That's roughly a kilowatt. You could run three 55-inch LED sets for that, with power to spare. Or does your TV operate from a 12-volt d.c. source, like for a boat or RV? That would make more sense, 108 watts total. In that case, using the wrong power cable could be at least a theoretical hazard. I'd wait for the proper cable. If you'll update your post with the make and model of your TV and what you're powering it from, you might get a better answer. Your location would also help, at least which country due to different a.c. power systems. ----------------------- Followup, per your added details: now I get it--you have a power cord that's rated at 7 or 9 amps, not a TV that draws that much. That's entirely different. Your TV/DVD combo will use a maximum of about 150 watts, which means it will draw just a little over one amp. So any power cord you can find that fits properly and is rated at something like 3 amps or more will be fine.
in my efforts to make everything as simplified as possible (lazy) im looking for a 25' or longer sata cable (also if there is an extension to the power cord thats used to power a cd drive in a desktop) trying to mount the cd drive all the way on the other side of the room (5ft away lol) so that i dont have to get up to change dvds. id mount it to the dvd shelf which is next to the sofa.
No go: What is the maximum length of a SATA data cable? 1m for SATA I, 2m for SATA II The exercise will be good for you. Maybe you have a wife, or a sister?
Acoustic Audio 10 inch home theatre powered subwoofer use speaker wire or subwoofer cable?
Use a long RCA cable. If you use speaker wire - you have to run wires from the left/right outputs to the sub, then more wire from the sub to the left/right speakers. Then you have to tell your receiver your left/right speakers are LARGE and you do not have a sub to get things to work. A single long RCA cable is simpler. You can even make your own with pre-terminated CATV coax and some F-to-RCA-Male adapters from Radio Shack. Subwoofer signals work fine and do not need any kind of higher end RCA cable.
I got a free graphics card from my cousin and my computer only has the SATA slots for graphic cards and the one he gave me has the 4 Pin cable. Is there anyway to get it converted or any cables that can go from 4 Pin to sata? I wanna see how this graphics card goes when its working fully.
Sure you don't have any molex connectors at all? Not even in your DVD drive? If so, get a Y adapter with a good amount of length. If not, then look for an adapter. Be careful as the vast majority are to convert a molex power cable to a SATA power connector, not the other way around. In the worst case you could hook up a separate power supply to it.
