Q: Just got a 2012 Nissan Frontier. It has lights on the rearview, green one on left always on, and the other one stays off. I don't have the Homelink system and can't find anywhere in the manual what else they might be for. Anyone know?
You may have the auto dimming rear view mirror. Nissan calls it (automatic anti-glare) Owners Hand Book section 3 page 15 Green light on means that when head lights from cars behind hits the sensor photooptic cell that causes the liquid crystals inside the mirror glass to darken. Good Luck
Q: Why are some antivirus engines light as a feather and possess no impact on system performance while others bog down the system? What is it about these security products' programming that creates this variation?
It completely depends upon the antivirus configuration and how it is made. Some antivirus tool slows down computer system and takes most of the memory space; while some work silently in the background without disturbing any process of your system. Like Windows Defender, Immunet Plus Antivirus, Bitdefender, Avira, AVG etc. are some examples of light virus protection tool which does not affect computer’s speed or any of its process.
Q: What does the car bulb H7 mean?
There are several types of automotive light bulbs: H1, H4, H7 and other H1 is a terminal, the use of bulb shell ground, H4 is the three terminals are double filament light, H7 is 2 terminals.
Q: Wiring a relay for parking light flash on remote starter. Parking light system draws more than the output of the on board relay so programmed the output jumper to (-)200ma output (factory is positive). Question is this, I will need supply 2 12V inputs to the relay, so can they just be drawn from the same 12 supply wire from the batt? Also, parking lights draw 15 amps, so how much should I fuse the supply wire at if its operating the relay coil as well?
Sounds like the output jumper can switch the relay coil on the low (ground) side, so you can run the same 12 volt wire to power both the coil and the lights. If the jumper can only supply current and not sink current (though it sounds like it can sink current and you are all set), you will need a separate signal line connecting the jumper through the relay coil to ground. For a 15 amp lights plus the relay coil, a 20 amp fuse is the next larger automotive fuse and will protect the circuit without nuisance blowing. Just make sure the supply wire to the relay and lights is at least 16 gauge or it might get too hot.
Q: And then the onbord computer screen says servis engen soon emishion related fault. It also shoots out white smoke from the exost not constantly but when aselarating
Many problems can cause the check engine light to come on. The white smoke from the exhaust may be due to a problem with the engine management system, or coolant leaking into the cylinders (the last problem would be very expensive to fix). It may or may not be related to the check engine light. Try going to an auto parts store which, for free, may hook your car up to an analyzer that can display the diagnostic codes. That would tell you why the light is coming on. Note: the comment in another answer to this question stating that only a mechanic with special equipment can detect engine faults on a BMW is wrong. Any scanner can read and display basic OBD II codes. A local Autozone did that for my 2004 745li for free, and stores of that kind can often find why the check engine light is on by doing so. BMW dealers and indie shops have equipment that reads the proprietary codes, but the expense of doing that may be unnecessary.
Q: I checked the manual and that‘s what it says, it was hard for me to understand exactly what the problem is. I filled my gas tank up to over 1/2 a tank and it‘s good, all the oil levels are fine.I did drive on a dirt road a day before I saw this light pop up. How can I take this light off if everything seems to be fine?
One of my pet gripes is that the emission control system in most cars will not say what is wrong, just that something is wrong. If you live in the US outside of California you can take the car to most auto parts chain stores (like Auto Zone) or to Aamco Transmission and they will read the code for free, and try to reset it if the code is temporary. In California only authorized auto service shops are allowed to do that. no comment on the sensibility of that.
Q: What is the role of the car headlamp hood?
The effect of the hood is to prevent the light from diverging, so that the light is better to gather
Q: 04 durango engine light.why did it come on?
I would have to say, I don't know. Unless they don't know what they are doing which is possible. If the light is on, there has to be SOMETHING wrong. You may have to go to a place that charges you to get the right diagnosis. You can try another discount auto parts store if there is one available in your area. Most common causes are faulty o2 sensor and gas cap that wasn't tightened all the way. ( 3 clicks.)
Q: I have a 1995 Chevrolet c1500 with the 5.7L engine. Today I started my truck, with no problems ran perfectly. Drove to the gas station, got gas, then restarted my truck and all of the sudden it was at a higher idle around 1100 rpms, the check engine light came on and when I shifted to drive, the tires squealed a little. When driving I noticed it was hesitating to shift and shifted kind of roughly when it did finally shift. I have kept up with maintenance and take the best possible care of it. Like I said it just randomly started acting up when i restarted it after about 5 minutes. Any idea of what could cause this?
check engine light means a code in the system. auto zone will scan the code for you for nothing. the code will tell you what to look for. get back to us with that code so we can help out
Q: I just climbed in my car and this light on the pannel was on. It was this yellow one that from what I can gathher looked like an engine. I have a Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 2004 model. What the heck is this light (in the high right coner) and what does it mean?
YOU have no need of a sport bike.
